Follow all your Gaia ToS, and all the rules posted anywhere else in this guild at all times.

I won't place a rating on this guild. But I expect cybering and heavy sickening gore to be left out to be done elsewhere, and not in my guild. Timeskips are appropriate when over the top sickening violence or sex is happening, I just really don't want to hear about it, nor do I want my guild to be punished for a single individual breaking this rule.

That being said, this guild is also open to homosexual content and themes, so if you feel at all uncomfortable with see girls who get crushes on girls or guys who like guys, you may not find your place here.

Be mature. Do not bash, flame, or bully. No insulting people, or outlandishly rude OOC messages. It's fine if your characters are natural enemies, but don't let that cause you to bully around another member in the guild out right. Remember the Golden Rule, "Do unto others what you would have them do to you."

Roleplaying her is to be kept at least semi-literate. That is to say no one/two liners, keep grammatical, punctual, and vocabulary mistakes to a minimum even if you must keep a dictionary by you to do so, and keep roleplaying to appropriate standards. You are to type out your posts like I am typing this right now, and "your speech is within dialogue quotations," like your thoughts are italicized. If I see *Speech or actions within asterisks, we'll have a problem.*

Post layouts aren't required at all. But if you choose to have one, avoid immense images. Keep them restricted within the 500x500 dimensions signatures allow. If I find them larger than this, I'll request you shrink the image.

I want you to have fun with us. Keep the OOC environment friendly, not harsh and challenging. If you have questions, don't hesitate to PM me or your crew with them. Also, you may refer to the FAQ shown below this post if you have a general question that may already be answered for you here.

What species of characters are allowed?
Quote:
It's a fair mix of fantasy with realism. I mean, in Hazima City, I would really expect pretty much human characters. I mean, under really special circumstances, I might allow non-human characters in Hazima, but keep in mind they'd only have that going for them. Don't over step your boundaries and start giving them super special magical powers.
There's always Otherworld anyway, if you want a supernatural character, the Otherworld is more your place. You can even get away with making an Other Self of your Hazima City character with the same special powers you wanted them to have. Plot wise, some characters may cross over, so keep plot direction in mind.

If I have a character in one world, do I need a counterpart in the opposite world?
Quote:
No, there's nothing requiring it. However, if you make a character strictly for the Otherworld, I'm a bit more iffy on it since Other Selves need to have been born from the existence of someone in the normal world. Though you can keep it secret, who their counterpart is at first.

Which brings up my second point. You don't have to control both your normal character and their counterpart. For instance, if someone controlled Kuroi, and a different person controls Black Rock Shooter in Otherworld, that's fine. However when merging happens between the two characters and they become one, you will need to confer with the person controlling the other character and decide who controls the one character. To avoid confusion or fights, I would suggest you try not to resort to the "different controllers" method in the first place.

I'm more lenient on your normal world character not having an Other Self, or not having one right away but having one later. That's fine, and has no additional points on the matter.

How do Other Selves appear, or work?
Quote:
Other Selves carry personality traits similar to characters in Hazima City, as well as the physical traits that make them identifiable to your normal character. Sometimes the Other Self may be similar to their counterpart, and sometimes they may be the EXACT opposite. A good example of this would be the canon character, Yomi Takanashi, and her Other Self Dead Master. Yomi is mature, gentle, and kind. She seems distant, and she hides that she gets jealous and envious of those around her. Dead Master on the other hand, is showy and sinister, violent and aggressive in nature.

However sometimes it is goals and emotional changes that make things such as merging work. When Yomi's emotions become negative to a bad degree, it appears this enables Dead Master to merge with her, which means that emotional similarity unlocks Dead Master's ability to fuse with Yomi.

They seem pretty hard to kill.
Quote:
They are. Other Selves when in Otherworld, seem to all be this way. First of all, they don't appear to carry the human blood the human body carries. More so, when taking heavy damage, they discharge a static-resembling substance of black and whatever color refers to the character in question. Black Rock Shooter shows this when taking damage, a black and blue discharge of static "blood" releases when she's hurt by a move. However the way damage shows may differ between Other Selves. While BRS does this, it may not be the same for another self, who may actually bleed when injured.

Among other things such as gravity having less effect on an Other Self, death comes to them much harder. There's been no proof that an Other Self can be killed yet. Black Rock Shooter was run over by Chariot several times over, and impaled completely and lethally by Black Gold Saw, and still did not die, proving that death seems to elude Other Selves while in their world. However some method of erasure may still be possible, it isn't know yet...not even amongst their own kind.

How does my Other Self get their own territory in Otherworld?
Quote:
Other Selves don't require their own territory. They can merely wander if you wish them to. However some Other Selves choose to seize dominion over an area of their own and create their own conquered space within. However, if you have one expect to have to fight for it when others invade or trespass. For example, Dead Master holds a dominion over the the Church Chapel, and Chariot has an entire personalized area to herself.

Do Other Selves have to be so evil or aggressive?
Quote:
Absolutely not. They're your character's other self, this is up to you. Other Selves appear to carry a more negative outlook on their part, compared to the possibly bubbly human counterpart, but that could be because of their purpose to your character, to endure their counterpart's pain according to what they do in Otherworld. Dead Master is aggressive and possibly very evil in nature compared to Yomi, but Black Rock Shooter, even being an Other Self, is not evil or that aggressive unless she has to defend herself or fight for someone. In a sense you could see her as more of a neutral good. Basically, Other Selves are as capable of flexible alignment as normal characters are.

When can I cross over, or merge?
Quote:
Merging is complicated to grasp. It's when your Other Self and your counterpart merge into one being, usually into the Other Self. So, basically, your regular counterpart merges into the Other Self. The effects of such a merging vary between characters. It may increase power, add new abilities, or sometimes entirely change the way the Other Self works when merged. It's known that Dead Master is aggressive to begin with, but it appears that when merged with a more upset or depressed Yomi, becomes even more violent in nature than she originally was. But also, certain conditions must be met before merging can happen. Yomi and Dead Master could only merge when Yomi was feeling more negative emotions. BRS and Kuroi could merge when their goals became more similar to each other (they both wanted to find someone or something). A system will likely be used for merging to determine its success, to avoid using this method too much.

Crossing over is a more touchy subject. In plot, crossing over will be utilized much more later on, but for right now in the beginning, doesn't seem entirely possible. The concept of an Other Self to travel straight into Hazima City and wander freely with no harm to themselves. Or for someone normal to cross over into Otherworld safely and wander. Crossing over is something that can only be done once the captain's permission is obtained or given, or once the right is won.

How strong can we be?
Quote:
Well, your normal characters are about as strong as they can humanly be. You know, a weight lifter is gonna be strong, but he won't be throwing any buildings. Don't get weird on me like that. Don't show me Yomi ripping a street sign out of the cement and whacking someone with it.

Other Selves are more lenient on power, as they cannot die under normal circumstances, if they can at all (however they can still be KO'ed or incapacitated temporarily). However, be careful to not step over the god-mod boundaries other than immortality. They can still be injured, they can still feel pain. Boy, can they. So don't put them through hell thinking that you can just get away with it without consequence. Also keep in mind that your characters are probably not the strongest "big boys on the block" walking around. Characters like Dead Master and BRS are powerful, and in Otherworld, underestimating things you run into may be the end of you.

This seems to be encouraging a lot of characters per person...
Quote:
Don't worry. Otherworld Other Selves are thought of as extensions of the counterparts they are born from. In other words, Otherworld Characters aren't required to be as active as regular characters in Hazima City. So, your Otherworld character can disappear for a while, and it's not that big of a deal.

Do Otherworld characters do stuff regular characters do?
Quote:
The otherworld is a horrible place to live you know. However, I encourage a bit more interaction than just constant fights, since it can be safely assumed that maybe some of you are able to talk without trying to slice the other in half.

However...as per eating, sleeping, drinking, etc, Otherworld inhabitants do not do these things. They don't need sleep, though rest might be required when exhausted or heavily injured, they don't need to eat or drink or do things humans would need to do.

Are the Other Selves and Real World Characters aware of each other?

Quote:
It's implied they are not. The Other Selves may be aware of their human counterparts, but they don't have to be. But the human counterparts for the most part aren't aware at first in the roleplay, of this other half of their lives. The only exceptions are usually plot-related and aware for good reasons.

If a canon in the Otherworld doesn't have a counterpart, can we make one?
Quote:
Go right ahead. The only exception right now is Black Gold Saw since we're all convinced she does have an other half though it's not known yet. But most of the Otherworld canons near the second half of the list are listed as unknown cause they may not even have a counterpart canon. So if you really wanted to (though Otherworld characters don't need a human counterpart if they don't have one), you could make an original RPC to be their counterpart.

HOWEVER. Keep in mind the trend between Other Selves and Counterparts. Similar eyes, and at least remotely similar hair if possible (at least try to get a hair color). If not the hair, just make sure the eye colors match. That's the main key.
