It had been something of an emotional day, really. Taryn was glad that she could simply go back to her room and wait for the excitement to come to her.
The closest the ghoul had ever been to dress shopping was the little spurt with Tset before prom. They had been confined to one store, though, and to each other's conservative manners. Lizzy, the chimera thought, was a real girl who could help her out of her figurative shell and into something cute and... dare she say flirty for the Scarentine's dance. While she didn't really want anyone to be flirting with her, she was going alone. It would at least do her well to feel pretty.
There had been no time for Taryn to bake a new bath of sweets, so a hodgepodge of leftover spookies sat on the coffee table while the ghoul brewed some store-brand tea. It was probably 'evening', right? Oh, she hoped Lizzy would think to bring her own computer...

It had taken her a while to find Taryn, seeing how the monster dorms were as confusing as ever to navigate, with all its twists and turns. However, once she actually got the hang of not getting lost, it was pretty easy for her to get to the room she was sure belonged to the Chimera.
It was also good that she had decided to bring her laptop along, together with a measuring tape, just in case.
Inhaling deeply, she knocked on the door twice and put on her best smile, trying not to show how nervous she was, since she had dressed her friends up but never someone who she had met as a 'customer', "Taryn? It's Lizzy!"

With a nervous little hop, Taryn rushed to the door and composed herself. Alright, new friends could be made under the guise of a customer relationship, right? She took a deep breath, patted down her skirt, and opened the door with a grin.
"Hey! Come on in," she offered, stepping back so the pink-haired ghoul could enter. She was a little embarrassed at how plain her room seemed, even with the added childhood memories. Maybe they should have met somewhere more... neutral?

"Hello!" She returned the greeting before entering the room, looking around with a smile; it wasn't anything very special, but it was homely and rather inviting, which she liked, "Hope I didn't make you wait!"
She moved towards the couch, looking at the ghoul before sitting down, hoping that she wasn't being too bold or something.
"So..." She flipped the cover of her laptop open and switched it on, waiting for it to load, "Do you have any idea what type of a dress you would like?"

Oh, well then. Straight to business. Taryn kind of liked that they could just forget the awkward invitation part and get straight to it. She grinned, motioning to the cookies on the table and retrieving the tea pot.
"Help yourself," she offered, pouring a cup for each of them.She sat down then, tea in hand and tilted her head slightly. "Well, you know? I'm not sure? Something cute, something flattering... I think I want to be a little adventurous. Maybe something shorter than floor-length?" Oh, yes. Adventurous indeed.

"Oh? For me?" She blinked, looking mildly surprised before breaking into a smile and taking one of the cookies off the table, feeling a little hungry all of all sudden. When the cup of tea was placed in front of her, her smile widened, a faint blush showing on her cheeks; Taryn was so nice, and everything seemed to be going well!
"Thank you!" She nodded before nibbling on the cookie, listening quietly to the ghoul, "Ohhh. Hm, cute, flattering, shorter than floor-length... A lot of dresses fit that category! Since this is a party and not some sort of a fancy ball, how about going for something a little simple rather than elaborate?"

"Of course," Taryn nodded, smiling softly. Did she really seem like the type of host to deny a guest sweets? She was no gluttony demon.
"...simple, yes. Simple is nice," the ghoul said, shifting slightly and crossing her legs the opposite way. "I'm not really a complicated dress kind of person, even at prom it was just... yenno, one color, long gown. Nothing something too eye-catching, but definitely something nice. Cute and...somewhat elegant?" The chimera laughed then and shook her head. "I'm sorry, I'm all over the place."

"I think simple is wonderful!" She nodded, practically beaming at Taryn, glad that they were actually agreeing on things. She started typing away at her laptop, and after a moment, turned it around so that the ghoul would be able to see the screen, and more importantly, the dress that was displayed there, "How about this?"
It was a simple dress, light grey and white with a black ribbon near the waist, "I think something like this might be good? It's not too formal, but it's a dress you can wear to a party for sure!"

"Ooh..."
Taryn had never owned a party dress, not since childhood, and was honestly kind of excited at the prospect. She was worried about colors and her skin tone, honestly... but this! Black went with everything, and even better, it wasn't an entirely anti-Scarentine's black! It was a pretty grey, with a pretty ribbon, and some really nice patterning at the bottom. "That's really nice..."

"When in doubt, go monochrome!" She nodded, smiling when her choice of dress was approved; that went smoother than expected! A lot smoother! Junko would be so proud of her, she was sure!
"I have one in stock! I mean... Obviously I didn't bring it along today, but you can come try it on anytime! If you don't like it, we could always try to find another one!" Her smile widened, "I'll take your measurements once you've decided on something, just in case anything requires alterations!"

"Um... I probably-- I mean..." Taryn sighed, looking down at herself. She really was a bit disproportionate, wasn't she? "I have a little, um--" How did one go about this gracefully? "My... chest. Its... circumference... is wider in relation to my waist than is considered 'average'."
...good enough.
"I'd rather not be falling out. There's only so adventurous I want to be," the ghoul laughed nervously, sipping her tea. "That being said, I'm free for a fitting any time! Honestly, this is pretty exciting..."

"... Oh... Oh! Uh..." She blushed, looking anywhere but at Taryn's chest; it wasn't like she hadn't noticed it, but... For her to point it out herself... Clearing her throat, she smiled, trying to look professional despite the fact that her cheeks were red, "I understand! Don't worry, I'll make sure that it'll... Uh, hold without compromising the aesthetics of the dress!"
That sounded nice and professional, right?
"This is exciting for me too," She giggled, smiling fondly at her, "I'm glad that you're excited too! I hope that I meet your expectations with the dress..."

Taryn's lips pulled into a line. Yes, Lizzy was being rather professional, but that didn't make it any less embarrassing. She nodded and sighed, taking a calming sip of tea.
"I'm sure you will, everything looks so nice as it is," she smiled, "So how much do I owe you? Consultation, dress, alterations..."

Now, this was when Lizzy wasn't sure how to answer, her mind pulling a blank; she knew that she had agreed to accept payment, but they never did decide on what would be 'payment'. Since Junko had been busy, she never found the time to go ask the ghoul about it either.
"Uh..." She looked sheepish, trying to mentally calculate how everything would cost, and how much she would have to charge in order to gain some profit, "About... 180 seeds?" She couldn't help looking a little nervous, although she tried her best to keep a smile on her face; that just sounded like a lot of cash!

Lucky for Lizzy, Taryn had an allowance from home... a pretty hefty one, really, for books and clothes. Even luckier, it was backlogged, backlogged like Hell for a lack of girls to go clothes shopping with, for a lack of books needed and a desire only to buy baking mise en place. For all of this, Taryn's reaction was simple.
"Alright!"
The ghoul got up from the couch and went to her wardrobe, unlocking the safe sitting at the bottom with a complex combination and raiding her large seed purse. It took a bit to count out the money, but when she did she put it in a plastic sandwich bag and offered it out with a grin. She was damned excited. She'd never made a purchase like this!
"Here you go~ When you want me for fittings, just call. I'm only busy in the morning and early afternoon, for classes. Any other time and I'm ready to go."
