Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a Royal Family lived in a shining castle. Although they had everything their hearts desired, they were spoiled, selfish, and unkind. But then, one winter's night, an old beggar-woman came to the castle and offered The King a single rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold. Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the King sneered at the gift and The Family turned the old woman away. But she warned them not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within. And when they dismissed her again, the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful Enchantress. The King tried to apologize for himself and his family, but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in their hearts; and as punishment, she transformed them into Beasts. Ashamed of their monstrous forms, the Beasts concealed themselves inside their castle, with a magic mirror as their only window to the outside world. The rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom after five years. If they could learn to love another, and earn her/his love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, they would be doomed to remain beasts for all time. As the years passed, the family fell into despair and lost all hope. For who could ever learn to love a Beast?

So this is pretty much the same thing as beauty and the beast only with a twist to it. The entire family is cursed to take the form of beast-like animals unless they can fall truly in love and be loved in return. It is the final year and they only have 5 months left to break the curse. Meanwhile the kingdom has fallen into a dark age and the neighboring kingdom threatens to start a war...


Also the King and Queen are deceased, the Queen died when the children were at a very young age and the King recently committed suicide. The Oldest son is now supposed to take up responsibility and become the new king...

2. Please LITERATE meaning you have no trouble posting one or more paragraphs per post. My pet peeve is one liners and it's hard to make a good post when the person before you only wrote 3 sentences. I would like at least 5 sentences per post as a minimum.


3. Be active. I know the real world can be busy, I'm busy myself with college. So I'm only asking you guys to make a post at least 3-4 times a week.

4. Like I said, be creative with your characters even with the royals. Don't have a beauty that's the perfect towns person, they need to have a few faults (for example, Bell from the Disney movie was always in her book and didn't fit in) but still need traits that can help the beasts to change. With the beasts, the reasons they are cursed if endless. They can be a spoiled brat that was arrogant, a princess that was unbelievable vain and believed it was a gift to her guest if she even shown up to her own party, etc. My profile will be very long, but you guys don't need to get that detailed about it.

5. No killing characters. There can be fights, but no killing. Since there will be no set 'couple pairs' then a little drama is expected.

6. This RP is PG-13. Cursing is allowed, but not in every other sentence and romance is of course allowed but don't go over board.

Character name: Esmerelda Windsor
Age: 23

Position: Eldest Princess
Weapons: Before she prefered her favorite sword but now with her new flexibility and agility Eamerelda uses her lance quite often.
History: Like her other siblings, Esmerelda was self-absorbed with not only herself but with her books, swords, and her combat skills. She would spend her days simply reading in the castle's library or training with her weapons.

Esmerelda rarely spent time with her other siblings even before the curse. If there was any member of her family that she felt was worthy of sacrificing her precious training time, it was her father, the king. The late king saw her talents with combat and was very calculating in or out of the battle field, traits that could try to deny her older brother's birthright to the throne. So since she was a young lass that shown some talent, he basically brainwashed her that she wasn't and never suited for the throne and only her brother and him alone was 'right for the job'.

Years later with training from day in and day out, her mother died. She was a beloved queen, wife, and mother and the whole kingdom griefed for days. Unlike everyone else, Esmerelda only felt the saddess of losing a mother for a very short time before returning to her stone cold self again. Shocking more than a few people inside the castle of how she quickly returned to her 'normal' self very shortly after her mother's passing.

Before that late queen died, her mother looked at Esmerelda with sad eyes filled with pity. Of course, being the prideful warrior princess that she was, being pitied by her own mother was an insult and was a slap in the face. At least that's how Esmerelda saw it, but she never understood that.... until THAT cold winter's night when the enchantress put the curse on her and her siblings into the brutish beast that they are today from their lack of caring for other people. At first, her siblings, and their father searched endlessly from what they could within the castle for the four that would break this curse, but months passed and their father had enough.

It was a surprise to Esmerelda that their father took his own life long before it should have ended, but it wasn't shockingly surprising. After her mother's death, the king became more superficial than he was and trying to fill the gaping hole in his heart with gold, horses, statues, balls, etc. Then after the night of the Enchantress, the king slowly began a shell of once was a king filled of pride. A real sickening and pathetic sight for Esmerelda.

Esmerelda never had a great sense of duty from being the eldest daughter to look after her younger siblings, even now that sense of duty is little to none especially since she's been busy planning for the upcoming war. If Esmerelda isn't in a war meeting, which are a lot now since Gwaolith's certain attack on their kingdom is drawing closer by the day, she's doing what she always done- train and strive for perfection in her fighting techniques.

If you're wondering if Esmerelda still believes in hope of the curse, one could say that she didn't have any hope to begin with. Like her siblings, Esmerelda did find her new form repulsing, and wanted to return to her orginial form but it wasn't long before she found more than one advantage to her new body.


Personality: Esmerelda is a cold hearted fighter of war and combat, but she isn't a fool and runs for the first sight of battle. No, she is far more calculating than that. The best of her plans used sacrifices of lives as they were decoies to drive her enemy into her well planned traps. It after the enemy, that some how were life after going through them, is when she gets her hands dirty and fights with her blade. Her skill with swords, lances, and tatics has earned her the nickname, 'Crimson Princess'.

With her family, her coldness doesn't heat up even the slightest never has and never will. Maybe it has to do with her father fearing she would wanted the crown and drilled that her older brother was to be the heir, not her, every chance he got and any way he could think of. In truth, she never had a want of power- the crown that is, power as in army and strength is another story. Why would she want to sit on a throne all day while she can slash an enemy down on the battle field?

Esmerelda is blunt and has a tongue that is sharper than any sword, and has a habit to say words that will hurt whoever she is talking to. Also many say that her peering constant glare and look into people's souls, especially after she turned into a beast. Which these were untrue, but she was always keen on facial expression seeing fear or when they were lying through their teeth.

Apart from being the warrior that lusts for battle, Esmerelda also has likes to read since knowledge is power after all. Before the curse, she would balance her days between her training and reading in the castle library if her father didn't plan something idiotic like one of his many balls. She would read anything that wasn't fiction, since fiction is worthless because they held no information but only childish stories. Even the books that were written about war were unrealistic to her.

Other: Why did th Enchantress change Esmerelda (but no eye patch) choose a feline form for the heartless killer? Her warrior pride and ruthlessness is like a female lion or jaguar.
