Anaklusmos: - settles down for a nap by pond, completely exhausted - Man could those guys FIGHT! - laughs, rolling onto her side, then winces - Wish there'd been one or two less, though. Would've saved me some trouble. Stupid guys. - mumbles to herself -
Anti: *Hears the sound of another creature, slipping through the watery depths to approach the female, shaking water from his body. He's not used to others, though she is being rather loud.... Merely sitting where he is, he notices some bruises on her, offering cold water to her with his tail quietly.*
Anaklusmos: - Rests quietly on the bank until a few flecks of water hit her. She jumps up, ready for a fight, only to notice a noodle offering her water. She walks over, wincing carefully and drinks the water happily - Mm, that's much better! Thank you very much. - is still watching him carefully, though, despite her disarming words - I'm Anaklusmos, but you can call me whatever you like. Do I get to know my helper's name? - jokingly -
Anti: *He regards her silently, not even smiling at her words. In the back of his head he's relieved. Good, a friendly fox... He hadn't met someone in an awfully long time... Blinking at her when she questioned his name he flicked his eyes to the side to look around for a second, then back at her.* Anti.
Anaklusmos: - smiles uneasily. Why isn't he talking? - Well Anti, it's nice to meet you. I probably would've had to sit there all night if you hadn't been there. Unfortunately, I don't have many friends. Actually, I think you're my first.
Anti: *Wah... he's her friend? Wasn't that a bit quick? Wasn't it supposed to go slower? Them meeting and.... huh. He doesn't have friends anymore... So perhaps he forgot the order of it all. oh. He's supposed to respond....* ...... *Nods*
Anaklusmos: - pauses waiting for a reply, but realizes she's not getting one - You're not much of a talker, are you? I kinda gussed, but I suppose it makes sense. That's okay. All the people I meet tell me I talk enough for a room full of people. You got any other friends?
Anti: *Shakes his head* They left.
Anaklusmos: - frowns, sighing - Yeah, it's hard to find good friends, isn't it? Most of mine turn out to be enemies, and then they get their butts kicked . . . or I get mine kicked, but that's kinda rare. I have a feeling you wouldn't do that, though, would you?
Anti: *Shakes his head no, blinking at her. Then, quietly: * No. You aren't.
Anaklusmos: - smiles - Well, thanks. There aren't many people who stay around this long, but you're a really good listener. It's been a looooong time since someone's stuck around even this long. Usually they just attack me, but then they're not friends, are they? - grins, wobbling on her legs - I just wish they knew how to play fair, then I would've stood a chance last time.
Anti: People...hurt you?
Anaklusmos: - smiles sadly - Unfortunately. Not all people are that friendly, you know. Most of the people I know aren't the friendliest. You're pretty much the best friend I've ever had. - nods - Haven't had anything close for ages.
Anti: *Blinks at her. She's deemed him as her best friend already. That meant he had a duty, now, right? Mm. Oh. At her sad expression he moves closer, stopping. Hnnn. What did his mom do? Lifting his paws, he touches her cheeks and forces her face into a smile, his own face dead serious, and says: * Actually smile
Anaklusmos: - mumbles through the forced smile - Alright, I'll do it. - tries one smile and another, but can't find a smile that fits until she sees his face - You're dead serious, aren't you? - laughs - Okay, okay! I'm smiling! Okay? It's good to have a real friend, don't you think? I got a feeling I'm probably one of you first, too, am I right?
Anti: *Blinks at her, glad she's smiling though, releasing her face* ....Yes. *Looks at the water briefly*
Anaklusmos: Thank you. - grins, then peers at the water - So long have you lived around here?
Anti: My entire life.
Anaklusmos: Mm, I know what that's like. For the longest time I wouldn't leave Greece, but then things changed, and I left. - pauses, thiking about it - But you really like it here, don't you?
Anti: No. I am alone. I want to buy a house. I don't have money. I do not like being alone. *Longest thing he has said in awhile. Oh mai.*
Anaklusmos: ... - slides herself close, wincing again - You know, you don't have to be alone. You just have to meet people, talk to them. You're a great person, Anti. If you want, you could stay at my place, if you want to get away from the pond, and I can help you save up and find a place. - smiles -
Anti: *He blinks at her quietly, and then shakes his head* I shouldn't stay. I will not be a burden. *Pauses, then nods* How do I make money?
Anaklusmos: - smiles gently - I know you won't be, you're not that kind of person. Thankfully, I have a spare room, so you can stay there and pretty it up. - thinks of the answer - Doing odd jobs here and there, or you could get a real job. I bet you've got talents that would be useful.
Anti: -still doesn't want to stay at someones house yet, ears flying back. Is that rude to say?- I do not have talents.
Anaklusmos: Why would it be? Even if you don't have talents, you could just help with chores or something around the house. I could use some extra hands. - smiles kindly - And I could use someone to at least keep me company. - pauses, and idea coming to her - Wait! You do have talents, silly. You're a fighter, right? If you haven't already noticed - gestures to herself - people don't usually agree with me. You could keep them away?
Anti: Fight....er? -ears flip down suddenly, looking both upset and horrofied- Is that what I look like to you? -pulls back slightly from her, looking away-
Anaklusmos: - winces, realizing she's said the wrong thing - - thinks to herself: Stupid, stupid STUPID - I, er, um . . . - thinks frantically for something to say to ease his fears - No, I just . . . I just need someone to-to help. I mean . . . - struggles - I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I just need someone to help me. Not as a fighter, not if you don't want to. - flattens her ears - You-you don't have to keep talking to me if you don't want to. - flinches, trying to seem less intimidating: Did I screw this up? -
Anti: I know how to fight... this I can't lie. But I dislike it greatly. -head turns away, ears flattening- Everyone thinks I am frightening for my size...
Anaklusmos: - eases up - Um, you-you really don't have to fight. - puffs up - I can take care of myself, you know, so you don't have to worry. You won't have to fight around me. - comes closer - Really? Maybe it's just me, but . . . You're really not all the scary. I've faced scarier opponents. - winces - Should I not have said that?

Anti: -looks at her, head turning to the side- So, by scarier you mean that there is still a part of me that is frightening?
Anaklusmos: - sighs - Not really. I mean, you know, you don't scare me, but then most things don't. - pauses - I'm doing a really bad job explaining this, aren't I? - laughs -
Anti: Yes. -watches her, head looking up as he shifts from foot to foot.-
Anaklusmos: - laughs - I guess I have to get used to this . . . friend thing. I've never really talked to anybody for this long. I apologize if I insulted you or something. - sighs - Most of the people I've met take pride in their strength. You're different . . . But in a good way. - smiles -
Anti: -head shakes, ears flipping- Why would someone find pride in hurting others?
Anaklusmos: - shrugs - I think I told you before, but I've never really had a friend. They like being stronger and more powerful. They were awful. - winces, remember her last encounter - I don't know why, they just do? - laughs nervously - I guess I just attract that kind of person.
Anti: -turns to look at her, frowning- People hurt you?
Anaklusmos: - laughs, unperturbed - Well, pretty much. Actually, it happened just before I met you, too. Sometimes I really hate being strong . . . they're out to get me all the time. - swishes her tail -
Anti: ..... Do you get hurt...a lot?
Anaklusmos: Pretty much. But I've gotten used to it, and found all kinds of ways to get better quicker. I even have a few hiding spots if it's bad. But usually I don't have to do that. - shrugs -
Anti: ..... You need a bodyguard.
Anaklusmos: - puffs up - I'm alright, I promise. I'm stronger than I look. - pauses, wistful - But . . . you'd do that for me? I thought you didn't like fighting?
Anti: I can fight to defend another person. That I do not mind.
Anaklusmos: - smiles slightly - That would be . . . nice~ - pauses, smiling - So, are you finally going to stay with me? - shifts from side to side - I mean, you don't have to if you don't want. Stay with me or protect me, if you don't want to. - frowns - I won't make you do something you don't want to do.
Anti: I... I'll stay with you, I suppose. Only to perform my duties.
Anaklusmos: - smiles, relieved - That's-that's great. You'll still be my friend, though, too, right?
Anti: Of course.
Anaklusmos: - grins from ear to ear - YES! - pounces on him, hugging him - It'll be great, I promise! I swear it!
Anti: -blinks, shocked by her display and patting her back, alarmed- Does this really make you that happy?
Anaklusmos: - nods excitedly - Of course! I've never met anyone like you before, which is strange, 'cause I've been around for the longest time! And-and you don't want to fight me-you don't even like to fight-and now you're going to be staying with me! - squeezes him and laughs - I really like you, Anti. - sighs, content - - thinks to herself what she has to do so he's comfy; clean the house, and get lots of food. Lots and lots of food -
Anti: -blinks at her, perplexed. For a second he just pats her back, and then sighs- Just... do you have a lake inside your house?
Anaklusmos: - blinks - A . . . lake? - laughs - No, there aren't lakes inside of houses, silly. But I do have a tub. There's a little pool, too, but if you still need a lake, there's one nearby, in the forest.
Anti: ..... tub?
Anaklusmos: A bathtub. - tries to gesture the general idea with her paws, but probably only confuses him - Er, it's this thing. You fill it with water and takes baths, to get clean. - nods, not sure if he knows what a bath is -
Anti: -blinks at her, both confused and head tilting- A bowl?
Anaklusmos: - stares, but tries to consider he's lived in the pond all his life - No, no . . . Well, sort of. It's like a giant pool. Pretty nice, especially if you're tired. And it's warm. Although it's tiny, so I don't think you can live in it. - trails off -
Anti: -blinks at her, then sighs- I just think everyone should have a lake.
Anaklusmos: - smiles - There is one, just a little bit away from my house. It's nice and big, just like this one, with lots of fish. I go there sometimes, when I need to think. - realises she's still on top of him and blushes, getting off - Sorry.
Anti: -when she gets up he sighs as breath rushes back to him, cracking his spine as he stands.-
Anaklusmos: Ah, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to squish you. - blushes -
Anti: -shakes head- You'd need to get a lot bigger to squish me.
Anaklusmos: - smiles mischeviously - I'll work on it. So, wanna go to your new home?
Anaklusmos: Great! - waves towards an opening in clearing - It's this way. Come on! - runs there -
Random Bad Guy: - step up, suddenly run into and growls at Anaklusmos - Hey, watch where your going! - pauses, watching her - Wait, I know you from somewhere . . . - lightbulb moment - HEY! You're the one who ran off! - grins evily - Ready for a rematch?
Anti: -shoves Anak behind him, eyes narrowing as he stands straight, eyes narrowing-
Baddie: - blinks, eyes narrowing in return - And who do you think you are?
Anti: Anti. Who else would I be?
Baddie: Oh, I dunno. Right now, you're getting in my way. - points at Anaklusmos - SHE has some dues to pay. The little lady has pissed off one too many people.
Anti: Pissed off people? -cocks an eyebrow- How does others attacking her make her in fault? -watches the hand raise, his own tensing-
Baddie: Oh, this isn't the first time we've fought! She has no right to disrespect our leader by winning, and then running when we get back. - chuffs - Now, if you don't mind, I'll just be getting her - lunges at Anaklusmos in the middle of the sentence -
Anti: -quickly steps so his leg moves in-front of the others, using his arm to clothes line his neck and then his free arm to shove the man into the ground, stepping on his back- I suggest you do not move much, you may have broken a rib.
Baddie: - winces, growling and repeats his question - Who're you again? And why the hell do you care about her?
Anti: I am Anti. I am her bodyguard and she, -he pauses head raising- She is my first friend.
Baddie: Friend, eh? Bodyguard? You know she really doesn't need that, right? She's got a better rep than the boss!
Anti: -shakes head, eyes narrowing- She doesn't want that rep. She doesn't like fighting, so I'll do it for her instead. -He raised his foot- Tell your boss to send her foes to me instead. I'll happily take care of them.
Baddie: - huffs - Well, then why doesn't she just give it up? Let herself be beat for once? Look at her, sittin' there, quiet as a mouse! She wouldn't let her rep slide on her life! - flinches involuntarily at the movement and huffs - We might as well start this now. - slides out from under her foot and starts for Anti, despite the pain -
Anti: -slides to the side easily and swiftly, spinning behind the male and wrapping an arm around his neck, pulling him lightly backwards, his other hand grabbing the mans wrists- I do not wish to hurt you.
Baddie: - chokes, trying hard to breath - Y-ye-yeah? Well, you're doin' a pretty good job of it. - gasps for air - Al-lright. - raises a hand in defeat - I-i'll go. J-just let-t me go.
Anti: -lets him go, nodding.-Thank you for giving up.
Baddie: - snarls, lunging at Anaklusmos as a warning, then turns on his heel, leaving - I may be leavin', but this ain't the last you'll see of me, missy. You better watch your back. - leaves -
Anaklusmos: - shaking, holding her chest, a reminder of their last fight - Th-thank you Anti. - whimpers -
Anti: -watches the man leave, then turns to look at Anak, leaning down- Are you okay?
Anaklusmos: - shivers - Y-yeah. I'm-I'm good. I'm good - saying it as if to reassure herself - I just didn't expect them to come back so soon. - chuckles nervously - You're even better than me. - smiles -
Anti: -head tilts- Am I?
Anaklusmos: Mentally and physically. - smiles weakly - I couldn't have done that. They-they're bad. And I just can't shake them.
Anti: -shakes head and offers to lift her- I just do what is natural. To many people think to hard, you should just let your body do what it wants.
Anaklusmos: - smiles, taking his hand and helping herself up - Thanks, I'll remember that next time. - reflects darkly on the fact that there will be a next time - So, ready to go home now? I can show you what a bathtub is!
Anti: The giant bowl? Yes, please.
Anaklusmos: - laughs, leading him towards the clearing cautiously - It's not just a giant bowl, you know. It's watery heaven. - sighs - I could go for a bath right about now. We can share one. - laughs -
Anti: Heaven? -looks at her and nods- Sharing is fine. -Stomach grumbles, tail flicking in annoyance-
Anaklusmos: Great! - skips off, but pauses when she hears his stomach grumble - Oh, food! I completely forgot food! - thinks - Um, I have some stuff at home, but I could make something better if we stopped at the store first, if that's alright?
Anti: Sure. -looks at her- Store?
Anaklusmos: - remembers he's never been out of the pond - It's a place where you can buy food and things. Although we could probably just get something out here. I'm sure there are some good herbs and things out here. - searches -
Anti: -nods, then squats beside her- What should I look for?
Anaklusmos: - thinks for a second - Flowers, like roses and such are good deserts, surprisingly. And then lavender, basil, dill, chives, rosemary, parsley or bay laurel. They're all great on dishes, so I could make them taste better. - whips through her mental cookbook -
Anti: Roses.. okay.
Anaklusmos: - laughs - Mhm. I'll look for a few of the others, then. - searches, picking out a few from the clearing -
Anti: -finds a few roses, ripiing them out gently and setting them aside. When he pricks his paw he blinks and continues to pull roses out-
Anaklusmos: - peers over, smiling - You're a hard worker. But you should probably be careful about the thorns. I have some things when we get home to clean those up. - pulls out more quicker -

- - - skip to house - - -

Anaklusmos: - running through the house looking for the food - Hey Anti, what do you want for dinner?
Anti: -Looking up, he paused in thought, giving a one word answer- Fish. -He's never really had /real/ food before, it's clear as he gives her a confused look, as if to say "what else is there?"-
Anaklusmos: - pauses, looking over at him and noticing the look - . . . You do realize there are more types of food than fish, right . . . ? - bites her lip to hold back the laughter -
Anti: -Blinks at her, head cocking to the side before scrunching his nose- .....Flowers?
Anaklusmos: . . . You've never cooked before, have you? - sighs, shaking her head, but still grinning - Well, there's pasta-you know, noodles - and beef - those are cows - and chicken - I don't need to explain the chicken, right? - and fruit, and veggies and-and stuff like that.
Anti: -Suddenly his face flicks horror, backing away- Noodles? -He gives her a look that clearly says "you are a monster".- Cannibal. -It's unsure if he is joking or not.-
Anaklusmos: - frowns, then a look of horror dawns on her - NONONONONONONO!!! I meant, you know, noodles. Pasta! Not like us, like these! - grabs pasta box off shelf and shoves off them - See, noodles?
Anti: -His ears flicked back as she started to yell. He was about to say "I know!" when she repeated noodles, however suddenly he was shoved pasta noodles, viewing them with narrowed eyes before looking up- Why is this called noodles?
Anaklusmos: I-I dunno. I don't think they're made of Noodles. They're made of wheat. - stares at the box as if checking she hasn't been eating relatives and then sighs in relief - Not real Noodles, I promise.
Anti: -views the box with narrowed eyes, then nods, as if trusting it, setting it down and settling back into his set.-
Anaklusmos: - calms down - So-so we'll make noodles and fish, is that okay? Since they're not real Noodles? - peers at Anti uncertainly -
Anti: -Looks at her, realizing his outburst had upset her. Suddenly, his paw whipped out, touching hers, attempting a reassuring rub before releasing it.- Smile. -Glancing at the noodles again, he nodded as a silent yes-
Anaklusmos: - grins, feeling relaxed and grins quickly for him, to let him know she's fine - Alright then. Noodles and fish it is. - sticks her head under the cabinet to find pots and then fills it with water and sets it on the stove and finds the fish -
Anti: -watches her, head tilting slowly, watching the pans and pots with curious eyes-
Anaklusmos: - set the fish on the pan and puts the pasta in the water before relaxing, cautious of the stove, before noticing his watching them - Do you wanna come over here and help me cook?
Anti: -stands quickly, the taller noodle approaching and nodding, looking about awkwardly. Help? How? Shake the pot? He could do that.-
Anaklusmos: - sees Anti's confusion and laughs - Here. - hands him a spoon - You can stir the pasta, 'kay? - brushes their fish friends with oil and ponders her spices and herbs. What to use? - Try not to spill the water, though; it's really hot. It'll hurt if it hits you.
Anti: -Takes the spoon, stirring quietly. When she mentioned what to use he tilted his head to view her, startled when water /did/ hit him, looking back at the water and grimacing-
Anaklusmos: - leaves the fish now to fry - Well that's almost done. How about some fruit? And for desert we could have . . . I dunno, ice cream? Yeah, that'll do. - looks at Anti, confused, then smiles in a perturbed way - Anti-the water hit you, didn't it? Here, run some cool water over it, the pasta can stir itself. - gestures at the sink -
Anti: -Looking up, he froze as she offered the sink, glancing at it. He approached, fumbling and actually managing to turn it on, ears flipping back in surprise. Water. Like his pond, but coming from a tube? Confused, he slowly placed his paw under the water, hissing between his teeth as hot water burned him.-
Anaklusmos: - watches, highly amused, then turning panicky when she realizes he turned the wrong knob and runs to change the temperature - Er, you might wanna be careful there. Look, this blue one is cold, see? - turns it - But the red one is hot, so be careful. The same goes for the bathtub. Here, keep your hand under there for a bit while I finish up.
Anti: -Frowning, he slipped his paw back under, watching Anak. How did she remember all these rules? When she mentioned the bath his ear flicked. Ah, the giant bowl. Nodding, he watched her curiously, perhaps attempting to learn from her-
Anaklusmos: - grins, almost reading his mind - It's pretty simple once you get used to it, I promise. Most faucets - the things that bring water - have the knobs labeled or colored. You just have to watch out for them. - sniffs at the fish and checks to make sure its cooked, then breads and sets on a plate and puts a collander in the other half of the sink and pours it in - Almost time for dinner. You hungry?
Anti: -nodding, he adjusted his paw, checking it, and then turned off the sink successfully, stepping back to give Anak room. He felt bad, making her cook. Perhaps he could learn and cook for her one day? Eyeing the food, his tail flicked, eyebrow raising.- Yes. -It smelled good, better than what he ate in the pond, that was for sure.-
Anaklusmos: Well, then all we have to do is set the table up. - puts the noodles back in the pot and finds the sauce setting it on the pot and taking the fish over to the table - Here - can you put the noodles in one of the big bowls over the sink and bring it to the table? I'll get the plates and forks. - voice fades as she goes to the other room, sets the fish down, and returns for plates, knives and forks -
Anti: -stands, heading off to find the items she asked for. He successfully dumped the noodles in the bowl and turned to wait for her, tail flipping around his form.-
Anaklusmos: Great. Here, I just need some salad - quickly throws a few things together from the fridge and places it in a bowl, which she puts on the table next to the pasta - Bon appetit! - sits down at the table and starts serving herself -
Anti: -watches, unsure what to do as he settles in a seat. Suddenly, he reaches in, and grabs some by the hand, eating from his hand-
Anaklusmos: - pauses, staring until realization hits - Oh. Oh! - grins and laughs - You're supposed to eat with the knives and forks, see? - stabs a hunk of lettuce with her fork and eats - Like that. - mumbles around her food, then swallows -
Anti: -watches, staring at his hands and removing them, licking any food off of them before touching silverware- Oh. I'm sorry. -Which he was, though mostly embarrassed. He copied her movements, mentally complaining that this was a much slower way of eating, but he'd accept it for Anak.-

A few months later

Anaklusmos: - official time skip-ness - Anti? Hey, Anti, where are you? - peeks into a few rooms - Anti?
Anti: -Lifting his head up, he left the room he was residing in, the guest room, or rather, /his/ room. Hearing Anak's voice, the male headed for it, stopping and leaning against the doorway that lead to the room she was in, his tail wrapped securely around his leg, arms folded, muscular body leaning against the wood as pure white eyes viewed her- Yes?
Anaklusmos: - peers at him - Oh, there you are! Ah, gosh, you were in your room weren't you? I should've guessed, but - flushes - I'm ranting, aren't I? Anyway, I was thinking maybe we could go out somewhere? There's this really great park; they have a pond and there's this cute little restaurant too. You wanna go?
Anti: -He smirked as she flushed, having grown to finding her rambling rather cute throughout the months. White eyes viewed her, the lack of pupils making it hard to figure if he was staring or flicking his eyes about.- Yes. -He enjoyed spending time with her, he liked her, in all honesty. The time he spent with her pleased both him and that restless animal inside, calming him from rushing back to his pond. She was both civilizing him and claiming him, and Anti was fine with this. He realized, perhaps too late, that the only things he had said lately were the words yes, though he didn't add more. She should be accustomed to his simple, blunt answers by now.-
Anaklusmos: - His smirk only made her flush harder, but she tried to ignore it. She'd never quite felt like this for anyone in the past, and it made her feel nervous. Was it okay that she liked Anti like this, or would this ruin their entire friendship? The last thing she wanted to do was ruin this for them, their first friendship. She had to grin at his response. Usually Anti just said yes and she would take it from there. It was okay, though, because she was more accustomed to planning anyway. - Alright, let's go! It's close enough to walk to, not too far. I was thinking we could stop at the pond first. - gathers the few supplies she already packed for the trip and pauses - Do you ever miss your pond?
Anti: -He had begun to move to get ready, which meant locking the windows in his room, then she spoke. His head rose and he blinked, pupiless eyes viewing her quietly before considering his response- Sometimes. -He admitted. He did, at times. Though, he didn't elaborate, cutting off his thoughts and standing, brushing against her as he headed for the door- Why?
Anaklusmos: - She finished collecting the few things she'd decided to bring with-some money for food, some snack food and a couple of other things they may or may not need and stuffed them into an over the shoulder bag, avoiding his eyes by taking longer than necessary the arrange them. It relieved her, more than she felt comfortable with, to hear that. He was naturally from the water; of course he would miss it sometimes. But he didn't miss it all of the time. Did that mean he liked-or whatever this feeling was-too? She'd leave that for a bit. - Uh, just wondering. We'll get to see the pond again today. - She headed out the door, walking along the path heading out to the woods. -
Anti: -He actually showed an emotion other than a simple smirk for once, tail wagging twice and ears raising when she mentioned they would view the pond today. He went back to his emotionless state once more, following her quietly, as always.-
Anaklusmos: - Anaklusmos smiled, throwing her worries away as they made their way through the path and into the woods, chatting all along the way about anything and everything that came to mind. Anti didn't seem to mind at all, just listening. She couldn't guessed he'd missed it; after all, the bath tub didn't make much of a substitute. She kept chatting all the way until they reached the pond, tripping up a little, but ending up unharmed. - And here we are. - she made a dramatic flourish as they entered the clearing and grinned, watching for a reaction. -
Anti: -He stopped. freezing as he viewed the pond, the memories rushing back. He wasn't sure how to feel when he viewed the pond, joy or sorrow. Everyone had left, and yet he had stayed for years. This was the place he was born, the place he loved and the place he was happy. Now, he lived with Anak, yet, how long would that last? His mouth became a soft, remorseful smile, glad for once he didn't have visible pupils, if he had he was sure his pain would show-
Anaklusmos: - She smiled hopefully at him. Was this good too? She couldn't tell-his pupilless eyes hid everything from her. It could go either way, she supposed, but she was hoping it was good. That smile, though, didn't look too happy. Had she made a mistake? - So . . . Do you wanna go for a swim? - She forced a smile, hoping to snap him out of it and waved at the pond water. -

Sappy TV Romance

Anak: - Wandering around her little house -
Anti: -Is watching TV, or was, and is horribly confused. When he hears Anak his head raises, waiting for her to enter the room-
Anak: - Plops down on the couch next to Anti. Seeing his confused look, Anak raises her brow and bumps his shoulder. - What's wrong?
Anti: -Viewing his friend, he pointed at the TV, remote still in hand, and glanced at her- What is Valentine's Day?
Anak: - glances at the screen, confused. Where did he head-oh. There was some sappy romance-y show on, with all the glitz of Valentine's day in its full glory. - It's a day that celebrates love. Couples do special stuff together and things, you know? They give each other Valentine's. I dunno, I never really celebrated it before.
Anti: -stares at the screen, head tilting as he viewed Anak- When is it?
Anak: I'm pretty sure it's tomorrow. No big deal.
Anti: Ah. What does one give another on Valentine's Day?
Anak: Uhm, Valentines? Chocolates? Flowers? Love? At least, that's according to the TV.
Anti: I see. -He rose, moving to grab his jacket and turning to Anak. He did not have money, yet, perhaps she'd lend him some?- Anak. May I borrow money?
Anak: - She tilted her head. What on earth did Anti need money for? Usually he was content with just spending time with her. She shook it off and headed to her coat and rummaged in the pocket until the found her money stash. She handed it to Anti. - Here. But what's it for?
Anti: Someone special. -With this he pocketed the money, offering an awkward but honest smile towards Anak as he headed for the door.- Lock doors. I will be back. Promise.
Anak: - She was a little taken aback. Who was his someone special. Must be a pretty sweet person if she'd stolen his heart. Valentine's Day. Ugh. Dutifully, she locked the doors and then headed back to the couch and changed the channel for some real TV. -
Anti: -Where the hell did one get these things? Not that store.... some woman had screamed at him while holding odd things he saw women put on their chest on TV.... another store had ushered him out, rambling about commoners and lack of money and such. It took many attempts, many stores, and many questions until he stumbled upon the exact right shop, and then he needed help with prices. It was almost silly how helpless he was, his eyes determined and body tense. Many edged around the large, strong male, but the one who helped didn't seem to mind his slow and choppy sentences and gruff voice. By the time he was done hours had passed-
Anak: - She was sitting at home, bored out of her mind and munching on some popcorn, having changed the channel to something much better-action. Usually she didn't have munchies, but after Anti had started living here, she'd stocked up. Good thing too; sometimes she neglected to eat, although Anti was keeping her in line. She watched a few movies, kind of entertained, until she'd finished watching three. It'd been hours. Where on earth had he gone? She debated trying to track him back to wherever he'd gone. -
Anti: -When he approached the house he was holding bags that threatened to spill. He managed to open the door, quietly, and had slipped within the house as quietly as possible, though this failed. The door slammed, he knocked into a wall, and a bag dropped. Before Anak could arrive he hastily returned the bag to his hands and began to head for his room as fast as humanly possible.-
Anak: - She jumped as Anti headed clumsily through the door, but did't have the chance to confront him about where she'd been. All she saw as she headed to the door was a blur rushing past in the direction of Anti's room. She followed, but at less of a pace and knocked on his door. - Anti? You in there? Where were you? I was getting worried!
Anti: -Shoving the bags inside a closet, he opened the door to peer at her, ears back at her worry.- Sorry. I was out. Went to store with love. Bought love. -He viewed her, noticing her worry and reaching out, touching her hand and reassuringly kissing her knuckles.- I promised I'd be back. I came back.
Anak: - She stared at him strangely. Was that even possible. - How do you buy love? - Did that mean he's gotten Valentine's Day things for his girlfriend? She felt a jealous streak shoot through her, but then paused. Jealous? Her? She wasn't even interested . . . right? She blushed vividly as he kissed her knuckles. Could she even feel love? She peeked back at him. Okay, maybe. - Right. So, uh . . . Who's your girlfriend?
Anti: They told me I bought love. -He noticed her face, head tilting as he released her hand and stoof up straight- Girlfriend? I only have one girl who is a friend.
Anak: Who? How do you buy love? This is confusing. - Ugh, Valentine's Day was so complicated. Why did she have feelings? What was this crap? - Er . . . And who is she?
Anti: I don't know. The woman told me. -He looked at her, blinking, blank white eyes showing no emotion- Is Valentine's Day supposed to be a surprise?
Anak: - Of course. The saleswoman. She'd probably tell him that if he bought whoever she was a bunch of stuff he'd have bought her "love." - Yeah, I guess. It's cuter that way. But I promise I won't tell her! Please?
Anti: You'd tell her. -Nods, looking at Anak quietly.- Tomorrow I will tell you.
Anak: What? - She stared oddly at him again. What was going on? He could trust her! - Fine. Tomorrow, then.
Anti: Yes. Tomorrow. -He nodded, pleased she agreed- Perhaps we should sleep. It's dark.
Anak: Fine. Sleep. I'll go to sleep. - She nodded and abruptly turned to go to her room. It probably would've made a better point if her room hadn't been next door. Whatever. She curled up in bed and drifted to sleep dreaming up possibilities. -

Next Day

Anti: -In the morning he had chocolates set out on the table, various sizes of stuffed animals, flowers that were disorganized, toy hearts, and many other things that seemed unnecessary for such an event. What more did you expect from the confused male? What more could you expect when he knew nothing of this world? He was attempting to cook, however.... it was failing. Horribly.-
Anak: - Anak woke up grouchy from the start. She'd woken up several times that night for no apparent reason and she had trouble falling asleep thinking so hard. She reminded herself, though, that Anti liked her and that she couldn't be mean to him because he liked her, so she put on her best face, tamed her wild hair, and went to greet him. She was assaulted by all sorts of Valentine's Day things as soon as she stepped in. It was almost too much to take, but she took a deep breath and moved on. It was all so sweet, aside from the smell of something awful. She headed into the kitchen. - Uh, what are you cooking? It smells like something died. By the way, will you tell me who she is now?
Anti: Pasta..... -He looked up, frowning at Anak- It burned. -How did one burn pasta? Ugh! Looking at her, he nodded, lowering the spoon he held to tame the pasta and exited into the living room, waving for her to join him-
Anak: The-the pasta burned? Did you put the water in? Did you make sure all of the pasta was inside the pot? Is there enough water? - She examined the contents. Definitely burned . . . somehow. - So, uh, who is it?
Anti: You use water? -He sat there, viewing her, and beckoned for her to come closer- Come here.
Anak: Yes. Yes, you use water when making pasta. I'll make some later. That is, if you're not too busy with your girlfriend? - She made it a question. A whole day without Anti sounded depressing. She headed closer to him. - What is it?
Anti: -He moved, seizing a box, red and heart shaped hiding a silver heart pendant within, and handed it to her, eyes soft and mouth opening to speak, stopped in fear he'd mess up, and then continued- Happy Valentine's Day, Anaklusmos.
Anak: - She stared at him. She seemed to be doing a lot of this lately. Being shocked by Anti, that was. She pointed at herself. - Me? You want *me* to be your girlfriend? Me?
Anti: -blinks slowly- You are a girl and my friend. You are already girl friend. -She didn't take the box but he didn't give up, viewing her quietly- I want you to be my love.
Anak: No, no. - She pushed the box away, saddened. He didn't get what a girlfriend was. Not at all. She was just about to correct him when he cut in. He did understand? She perked up considerably, but didn't take the box. Not yet. She still wasn't sure. It felt too good to be true. - You-you love me? Love? Me? Are you sure? That's a really big thing, y'know, and-and you should only say that if you really, really mean it. Really mean it. Uh-
Anti: -Her rejection made his ears lower, eyes, pure white, becoming a saddened curve until suddenly she spoke again. His ears perked up, hopeful.- Love is wanting that person to be yours. To have family. To have kids. To hold at night. I am tired of sleeping in a cold bed. I am tired of not snuggling. I want what TV has. Holding hands. Laughing. Love. Is that not love? Am I wrong?
Anak: - She bit her lip, contemplating, but honeslty, what was she waiting for? She'd never felt this way about anyone in all of her years, not once, and she knew this. She knew he hadn't either . . . And the thought of a family with Anti, of spending all of her time together with him made her giddy. *Just say it,* she hissed at herself mentally. *You know you want to . . . * She squeezed her eyes shut. - I-I l-l-lov-ve you. And-and I'd l-love to-to have all of that with you. - She smiled uncertainly at him. -
Anti: -He stared at her, ears flicking as he put the box down and moved closer, seizing her hands and lifting them to his mouth, kissing her knuckles and smiling gently, a rare expression- I have your love?
Anak: - She blushed, nodding shyly. - Yeah. Yeah, I guess you do.
Anti: Guess? Good enough. -He smiled, kissing her cheek, tail flicking just once, a rare movement, and then a smile broke across his face quickly before vanishing, turning to view the sweets and toys and gifts- This is for you.
Anak: - She laughed, a bright smile on her face. It dimmed a little-maybe in horror-as she stared at the mass of colorful pink and red things. There were so many. How would she get through all of this. - Uhhh . . . share the chocolates?
Anti: If you wish. Are they too much?
Anak: - She smiled up at him. He'd bought her "love" after all, and spent all of that time getting her gifts when he probably knew just about nothing about Valentine's Day. They were special, no matter how frilly some of them were. - Nope. Never. Just perfect. Here. - She picked up a big box of chocolate and put it on the table, gesturing at them. - Dig in. - She picked one herself and ate it, grabbing another. -
Anti: -Pleased, both by her acception and that he had done well, he took the box and settled on the couch, reaching to gently but firmly grip her arm and pull her closer so she could sit beside him, blank eyes viewing her- I love you.
