Waking up, the first thing she saw was an angel's face. In fact, she stared at him for a while before finally leaning in to plant a soft kiss on his forehead, still unable to believe that he belonged to her. Such a terribly handsome boil with angelic curls, and the pair of firm, strong arms that was currently wrapped around her...
She blushed, and quickly looked away, trying to distract herself; she really wasn't sure what was up with the sudden narration in her head where Mac was concerned. However, thanks to these thoughts, her face was completely red despite the fact that neither of them were doing anything. Quietly, she wriggled free from her boilfriend's arms, careful not to wake him as she moved over to her suitcase. Yes, suitcase because as of a day ago, she just couldn't help wanting to be near the boil all the time.
Putting on an apron over Mac's shirt, which was quickly becoming hers, she then got to mixing up ingredients... And soon ended up with a pancake mix that looks surprisingly normal. It would also be a miracle if Mac was not up, as she wasn't the quietest cook; in fact, pouring the mix into a heart shaped mould on the frying pan had her squeaking every time.
When she had a stack of pancakes ready to be eaten, Lizzy poked Mac on her cheek, and then proceeded to plant all the kisses on his face, "Morning! Look, I didn't burn down your kitchen!" She seemed awfully proud about that, taking a second to look at the stack of pancakes, before planting even more kisses on the boil.

It was indeed a miracle that he slept through her shenanigans. He was usually pretty good at waking up when his life was in even remotely potential danger. Lizzy in the kitchen? That was a recipe for Hunter-style disaster! Not that he'd ever tell her that.
The poking went unnoticed and the first few kisses were also not responded to; but as she refused to let up on them he gradually woke up and noticed several things. One, Lizzy was awake before he was, and that was somewhat odd. Two, she seemed proud. Three, something smelled good and four, though probably the most important point thus far, was registering what she had said.
She didn't burn down his kitchen.
Clearly, Mac needed more survival training, but at least he was wide awake now!
"Err---That...That's great, but, um, why?" An open ended question, because he just didn't know where to start with that.

"Because," She giggled happily and kissed him one last time before grabbing his hands and pulling, attempting to get him to sit up on the bed so that he would be able to see the stack of pancakes sitting on the kitchen counter, "I was thinking of all the things that I would have to do if I get married! I can clean and sew, but I can't cook or bake, so I've been learning!"
Learning from who and where, she didn't say.
"I hadn't burned down anything or poisoned anyone so far!" She was sparkling as she said that, sighing happily before gigging again, tapping Mac on the tip of his nose with a finger, "Oh. Also because I love you and I want to cook for you~ Go wash up now! Go go go!" More prodding and pushing and pulling.

Unfortunately for Lizzy, Mac stopped listening after if I get married. Two things sprang to his mind instead; one, why wasn't it we get married and two, why is she even thinking about it already?! His mental derailing also made him miss out on a few things; like thanking her for not killing anyone, or that tap to the nose, or her heart-shaped pancakes, or even her 'I love you'. Sorry Lizzy, Mac was out of commission!
Fortunately for Lizzy, his lack of listening made him somewhat compliant and her constant push-and-prodding didn't need to be as bad as one would think to get him out of bed. He trudged to his little bathroom and washed up, being sure to splash his face with super cold water to wake himself up, because clearly that whole hearing the word 'married' thing was a sleep-groggy mishear.
"So why were you using my kitchen?" He asked again upon exiting the bathroom, a little more awake now.

In the time Mac was away in the bathroom, Lizzy had managed to push the mess that was on his desk to the side, making just enough space to arrange two empty plates, two sets of cutlery, a glass of store-bought pulpy octopus ink juice on the desk. By the time he was walking out of the bathroom, Lizzy was moving the stack of pancakes over to the desk, putting it in the middle.
"To make these pancakes for breakfast! And you know, to practice the whole being a housewife thing," She was all smiles as she took off her apron, hanging it over the back of her chair before taking a seat, "And here's your chair~" She patted the seat beside hers - the one with the glass of juice in front - before wriggling in her own seat, clearly excited.

Wait, where did that table come from? ...Oh. Was that...his desk?! Huh. Interesting. He took the seat regardless, looking incredibly skeptical the entire time. There was an awful lot of work put into this, he could tell. Still...
"Uhh...Being a what?!"

"Being a hoursewife! You know, for when I just married!" She replied happily, using the fork and knife to transfer a pancake to each plate, "You can tuck right in! I already added syrup~"

"When you get married?" He raised a brow at her choice of words, too busy focusing on this conversation to even care about the food she made.

"Yes, when I get married," She looked expectantly at him, and then at the pancake, and then back at him, squirming a little, "Tell me how it tastes?"

"Yes, but-" He paused, at least humoring her by spearing a piece of pancake and popping it into his mouth. "Why only you?" He managed to say pretty clearly, even though he had food in his mouth.
Classy, really.

She looked a little surprised, and then nervous, before frowning a little, "Well... Because... Boils don't seem to be ready for marriage as quickly as ghouls are...? You don't seem convinced that it'll work out, for example! And I didn't want you to get upset at me... You know, for suggesting something like us... Together. Marriage."The end of her sentence was just a lot of muttering and fidgeting, playing with the edge of Mac's shirt.

Mac looked at her skeptically, chewing slowly before swallowing and yet managing to appear calculating, as though trying to figure her out the entire time. So that was why? Because he'd made a big, angry show...uh, several hundred times?
"Fair Enough." He submitted with a carefree shrug, looking away from her and down to his plate. "They're okay." He said honestly, despite taking another piece to eat.

She took a side glance at him, and then continued to eat her pancake, casting not-so-subtle looks at Mac. She was actually looking to see if he was eating and if he had anything else to say about the subject. After a prolong period of silence, however, she cleared her throat, "Uh... Unless, you know, you've changed your mind about the subject... Of marriage."
She tried to say it in a casual manner, but it was quite obvious what she was hinting at as she looked entirely all too hopeful.

Yes, yes he was eating. But with the gait of a man that suspected there would be poison at any moment. He loved Lizzy, but he knew better than to trust some of the cooking she did. He was all set to put yet another forkful of pancake into his mouth when she spoke, which stopped that movement entirely.
"Which stance?" He asked as though he needed to be reminded; and it kind of was the truth. His head was feeling funny...

"The stance of not marrying. That marriage wouldn't last." She made wild gestures with her hands, gradually increasing in pitch as she rambled, "That people can still break up after marriage. That not all marriages have a happily ever after. That you probably don't want kids."
