Life finally seemed to... not be in complete and utter turmoil for once.
Belial coasted on the wind over the woods he had grown accustomed to as home. Strong wings propelled him higher and lower without thought. Up here was home. For a while it bothered him to take to the skies. It reminded him of her and their failed attempts at love, and all the time they spent up there. It would break his heart to fly, and even right now there was a pang in his heart. The only reason he even got back to flight was because of his daughter, Momo, and how she dreamed of stretching her own wings. His Momo was everything to him.
But Momo was growing up fast -- too fast -- and she would eventually leave him too.
A strong pang pulled at his heart, and almost immediatly he felt tears sting at his lavender eyes. Of course. Every relationship he ever had was transient and temporary. Even his daughter, his beautiful, innocent Momo, would leave him one day, and he had no right to stop her. He swallowed hard and he gaffed in flapping his wings. He felt himself lose air, and though his heart picked up in pace and his body told him to flap and catch air, he let himself fall. At the last second he managed to gather his barings, but just barely. He crashed through the canopies of the trees below and landed incredibly ungracefully to the forest floor.
