Well, I guess I'll post since no one else will. What type of government do you think is the best and why? A few types of government include socialism, communism, fascism, democracy, oligarchy, dictatorship, contract theory, monarchy, ummah, and tribal.

I first argue that government, while may be divinely inspired, is a human convention designed to promote human flourishing. Thereby the best government is one that can best promote human flourishing. Of the government types that I am familiar with, I believe that an oligarchy bests fulfills this purpose. An oligarchy is ruled by a small group of elite citizenry. These elite can be chosen in a variety of ways including birthright and election. I propose that an oligarchy would function best when the more experienced individuals (age 40 or older) and best educated serve as the elite. The advantage of this over a democracy is simple: in a true democracy any citizen has influence over governmental affairs, including the bunglers and village idiots. Even the framers of the United States govenment saw the potential of this threat and tried to eliminate it by means of the electorial college (making America a cross between an oligarchy and a democracry). With an oligarchy this threat is nullified and only the most capable citizens make decisions that guide the state. An oligarchy is much better than any system with a single individual for a leader because an individual may succumb to irrational passions or may act out of self-interest.

um theory wise- socialism sounds like paradise..btu ti was meant to. so thats the best theoretical government. in practice, as we all know, it fails miserably. sweatdrop but on the other end, id have to agree with you. oligarchy is the best way, adn the US is almsot an oligarchy. this is probably becasue i value intelligence and order though.

i also have to say that i don't really think an age limit is appropiate, jsut becasue there are some very experienced and knowlegdable people who are much younger, adn are a valuable asset to government, becasue i also think there should be variety in it. also, i think that people should only be elected, because everyone should earn their place. and that if in the population there are people of different race or religion, that there should be at least one of each group to represent them in the elite group.

American democracy is a combination of republic and aristocracy... but no democracy there.

There really is no one type of government that is the best. Often, what's good for one isn't good for others. For instence, in my opinion, both a true democracy (everybody votes on everything) and true communism (everybody owns everything equally) work best in small communities, while larger nations need a lot more complex system of government. The best governments provide peace and prosparty for the people that they govern.

This really depends on the situation. If it is for something small, such as someone loses all of your quarters under a vending machine because they throw bad, than they should buy you a candy bar. But for bigger things, like revenge, it is bad. There should be better ways to slove your disputs than retaliating.

With me its not that I'm not interested its that I don't have anything serious to talk about. That and I'm afraid of making a total fool of myself, even in front of anonymous online people. I've almost stopped watching the news because they just keep showing more stuff that keeps people from falling asleep peacefully. "Terrorist attack to happen tommorow, you are not safe ANYWHERE. NOT EVEN IN YOUR HOMES and now to sports, Jim." and now this war "They DO have W.M.D they really do....wait no they don't so all those soldiers dying was for nothing, bye."

I agree with dancing_on_hyenas every time my mother heres about a girl being choped up and then thrown in a garbage can behind pet boys she always says ''Mario call your sisters and see if there ok''. ''I'm like mom there fine ok''
