Ammon had been wandering the rogue lands for what felt like a short of eternity with still no sign of his sister anywhere in the land. Why was it so difficult to track her? Surely she would meet up with a--well anything other then a lion and flip out on it. And then surely there would be rumors of a crazed lioness. Right? Or was she not meeting any of those sorts here? Or was she already dead? These, along with many other questions circled his head as he walked. He needed a break from everything. Just some time to relax and maybe if he was lucky have some company. Any company.
Frowning slightly he realized just how different he was from the other rogue males of the land he had encountered. Not once in his journey's had he laid with a female that led to ill intentions. Of course, not that he hadn't really wanted to. Just, didn't happen. Wasn't the right moment. Or so he guessed. He also further noticed how different he was from other males due to his general lack of fighting since being in these lands. Which from what he gathered was highly unusual. Ammon was in his prime, a young male with a great amount of muscles and well fed but not a heavyweight either. Yet, he seemed to be able to evade encounters that would lead to a fight.
"Not sure if I like that or not." Ammon said to himself as he stopped, raising his head to the air and sniffing. Still no sign of her. Maybe he was heading in the wrong direction. Or maybe that male had been wrong about where his sister was. Ugh. Probably not his smartest moments in life striking a deal with that male. To late to go back now.

It was just a regular sort of day, at least it hadn't been out of the ordinary thus far for the lioness than any other in recent memory. She had been doing a bit of thinking. Great headway had been made into heading towards her forever home, but she wasn't quite done with the rogue lands just yet. Her siblings had headed off towards their own futures, with male mates to give them children when they wanted to expand their families. Brezanae didn't fault them for this. They were entitled to pursue their own happiness as they saw fit to do so. Her own path to happiness was simply different. Romantically speaking, males weren't an option. There was simply no interest. Probably nothing beyond casual friends at that. Well, partially.
If she wanted to become a mother and to give whatever female mate she may take in the future children, she was in need of a fellow. Even if finding her lady-love in the near future wasn't in line for what fate had in store for her, the lioness fancied herself in peak physical condition and of a perfect age to consider such options. Such thoughts along with thoughts of her sisters and how they may be faring in their lives had been dwelling heavily in her mind for the past several days and nights.
Even now, her mind worked. She felt the need to be up off of the ground, to feel the air move all about her, and to keep an eye on her immediate surroundings when her mind allowed her to refocus to the present. This time however, it wasn't her mind that brought her back, but a masculine voice. Shifting around on her branch perch, Zan let her tail hang down as she turned to spot the source of the voice. "Not sure if you like what or not?" There was not aggression present in her voice. She had the high ground if the male was in the mood for fighting.

With a bit of surprise Ammon turned his head and looked at the female that had responded to him slightly widen eyes, then quickly shook himself back to normal. Why were these females here able to sneak up on him so easily? First that maned wolf now this lioness. He really needed to work on his tracking skills.
"Uhh..." He said trying to think of the best response to her. Deciding he had no real reason to lie he decided to be honest. "I am not sure if I like the fact that not once have I encountered a male who has wanted to fight." Ammon said with a small grin. "Though, I'm not one to fight unnecessarily. So I suppose it's not that bad." Ammon added shrugging slightly.
His orange eyes then lingered over her coat and features for a moment before eventually making their way to her eyes. "I'm Ammon." He said, a warm and friendly tracing his maw. "What brings you here?" He asked curiously. It wasn't often he stumbled upon another rogue so willing to talk first. Maybe his luck was changing after all!

The fact that she had surprised the male brought a quirked grin to Brezanae's face, not a malicious one, but one closer to mild amusement. A curl of her tail echoed the amusement settling on her features. Granted, there had been no conscious effort on her part. Zan had just been hanging around in a tree. She listened to his explanation with a slight backwards inclination of her head. "Fights as in practice or fights as in trouble?" A rolling of her shoulders indicated a faint shrug of her own. "It really isn't. Why risk unnecessary injury?"
Did she mind that his eyes roamed over her? Nope. Not at all. "Hello, Ammon." She drew out as she pushed herself to her feet and jumping down to the ground below her branch. It didn't escape her notice that the fellow was quite a specimen, solidly built, of good age, and thus far of decent temperament. "My name is Brezanae, but Zan would be equally acceptable." Giving herself a shake and a stretch, she smiled. "What am I doing here? Not much, just doing a bit of ruminating on what I'd like to see for myself in the near future. How about yourself? Surely not to ponder over whether you're fighting enough."

Ammon thought about the lionesses response for a moment before he finally responded. "I suppose to most males the latter is the only option." He said with a nod. "Though, as I said I don't care for useless and senseless fights. I'm glad I have yet to run into trouble but on the same paw, I feel...." Ammon stopped and thought once more. What was the right word he was looking for? "Forgotten? No." He shook his mane before looking back at her and sighing. "Just, not one of the guys?" Ammon had intended for it to be more of a statement but it came out more of a question, almost as if he was asking her if what he was saying was correct.
"Apparently the word I want to use is indisposed at the moment." He chuckled, watching as she jumped down from her perch on the tree. "Zan, nice to meet you." He smiled a warm grin before sitting down and curling his tail around his side. "Where do you see yourself in the near future?" Ammon asked, his head tilting to one side slightly. "I was stopping to beat myself up a bit on how I am nowhere closer to finding my sister then I was before. Seems as though these lands are never ending. And finding what you want in them is proving to be fairly difficult." Ammon frowned. Maybe it was probably best he didn't admit that but, he didn't mind what she thought of him. As far as he was concerned anyone could form an opinion of him, some may be spot on while others, well they certainly wouldn't be able to light up a cave with their opinion. Then again, Zan was the first girl he had encountered like this and he felt the strange need to almost.... Impress her. As he stood there he briefly thought of why that might be.

A half suppressed titter escaped the lioness. "No kidding." Although, there was a clear trace of annoyance in her words. Not with the male she was conversing with, but perhaps at some recollection of some past dealings with troublesome males. Her voice softened back to a more conversational tone. "Don't feel compelled to be one of the guys simply because of some common behavior. Be outstanding. Gods know what manner of attention may be brought your way, especially if proven you are worth the interest." A corner of her mouth quirked up at this statement.
"Elusive words don't really matter." Zan dipped her head at the greeting, before taking a seat near the male. "Home." She began simply. "I've been wanting to see if it will hold up to the stories my mother told me when I was but a little thing. I believe it will. Aside from coming home, I'd like to think myself a mother before too long. I don't need a mate. A temporary den partner would be plenty fine with me." She grew quiet, listening to Ammon speak, her head taking a slight incline to the side. "The world is a vast place, Ammon." Zan drew out, her voice low, almost a whisper. "I'm sure you'll find your sister, but your journeying may lead you to find and discover all manner of things. You'll be better for it in the long run. What if everything were as easy as wishing or wanting something to be so? I think we'd be poorer for it." A grin came to her features causing her eyes to shine. "I do hope the urge to beat yourself up has diminished at least a little bit."

The lion was a bit confused by the meaning of her words, or at least his interpretation had been skewed. "I will try to keep your words in mind the next time I don't run into trouble." He smiled sincerely at the lioness who know took a spot next to him and listened to her talk of home. Then he realized she had said she wanted to be a mother soon after arriving at this new home. He was further baffled at the idea of her just wanting to spend the night with some wayward male. Or at least that was what he could only envision in his mind. Ammon shook his head before he cleared his throat.
"It has. Thank you." He grinned wryly, a look of genuine concern and innocence clear on his maw. "Zan, you're not planning on spending one night with an unsavory male." He said, with a slightly raised brow. All the poor male could envision was some male with a little to much time on his paws taking advantage of her and the thought sickened him. Mostly because it was highly likely something like that would happen. In fact that was what he had grown up knowing these lands to be like. Sure he had yet to encounter a male who was out to do such a deed. Or a female who had payed the price for the actions of one night, or several nights, but he still believed it to be true. Even though the lioness beside him didn't look like the type to easily fall victim to some sweet words whispered by a passing male.
"Why do you want to have cubs so badly?" Ammon asked curiously. His eyes might have still showed an overwhelming look of concern and worry for her well being within them.
