Well, I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. Over a year ago, maybe around two years ago, I went to a farmer's market and found these two pendents in a jewelry bin.  I asked elsewhere and someone else said they were Nordic compasses. All I managed to find was something about elven legend which had me excited. I was kind of hoping I would find help here. sadly right now the brown one is missing.

I'm not sure what they I, but I do know they aren't Nordic compasses. I'll research some more to find what they are.

It didn't look anything like the ones I saw on wikipedia. I just hope it's more than something to just look cool. It's really hard to research things you don't know the names of. Though they do look like good luck charms. I don't know when I looked at them I just thought they brought good luck straight away. Nordic compasses didn't sound right.

Well, most I can say is that the center is a loose stance inside of a carved out cavity. Other than that, I don't know anything besides that it evidently has runes on it.

From what I can see they look an awful lot like miniature healing plaques. Although, the carvings made in them don't look very much like runes.. They may be Nordic or Celtic, odds are in favor of the Norsemen due to the simple designs but the outer ridges give off a hint of the Celts.. I can't really say though.

Hmm, that's still pretty exciting for a flea market find.

While they are similar, they are definitely not Norse Runes. It's really hard to see, but if I had to take a guess, I'd go with ogham inscriptions. The pendents themselves though probably aren't very old, or necessarily valuable though, and they look really similar to this.

Owned by someone before me sure, but I figured they were too old as the surface isn't dinged up too badly, I means they're nicely shiny, though one has a damaged brass ring and n ocord, which is why I don't wear it.

Those markings are scores. they are in 3's. It could be a workers way or monks way of marking service or acheivment.
