A little bit of plot:
Antecedent Action This is the entry to our room, not the ball. the Queen is having a ball at the castle! Every noble in the kingdom is invited to celebrate the Boy King's nameday, and they are encouraged to bring their own courts. The more the merrier!
Conflict The Prince of Thieves arrives and is not content with admiring the upholstery. He overhears the Bard singing a ludicrous song about how the only thing that can't be stolen, even by the Prince of Thieves, is the Queen's heart.... so he steals it.
Rising Action With the loss of her heart, the Queen is acting very strange! The Knight is going crazy because whoever has the heart controls him, and whoever controls him and the Queen controls all the knights and soldiers! Co-hosts and hosts are to be especially dramatic and over react about everything in order to drive the guests into chaos as well. Interact, interact, interact. Drag people along with you while looking for the heart, or use them to hide from others, depending on if you're on the Court or Thief side. If they call you out then promise revenge and then run away, grabbing onto someone else.
the Prince decides that the heart is too dangerous to carry around so, while the Bard is not looking, he puts it into the singer's lute. Basiwolff can then decide what to do with it.
the Prince and Tatiana have a big argument because she thinks they should have kept the heart, but he likes to see the castle in chaos. She storms off (and maybe finds a love interest)
the Prince disappears I will be using this time to cameo in other rooms...
The heart changes from hand to hand, despite the attempts of the court to regain it. The co-hosts MUST demonstrate the power that the heart has over the Queen and the Knight by making them do something crazy and, that way, give the guests the ideas to make them do crazy things themselves. Something like making the Knight cluck like a chicken or act like a dog and telling the Queen to dance on the tables.
If any of the guests make an inappropriate request (like telling the Queen to strip naked or make out with someone, or the Knight) then the Prince will appear to steal the heart away from them (because they are abusing it) and pass it to someone else.
[MUST NEEDS FILL IN MORE RISING ACTION]
Climax The Little King finds the heart in his possession, and instead of telling his mother and the Knight to obey him (like everyone else) he makes a heart felt plea for everything to go back to the way it was before because he's scared and he misses his mother.
Because of the "selfless" act the heart is magically returned to the Queen and everything goes back to normal... relatively.
Falling Action Will be to clean up after the chaos, addressing it however is most appropriate for the characters. It could be interacting individually with the guests, with one another, or RPing out literal cleaning.
Maybe this is where the Bard and the Queen have mushy-stuff time.
Official(ish) Plot TBE based on Crossover input from Nightmare and Flying rooms.
Day 1 King's birthday, super happy fun time for the Court. (I capitalize to distinguish between Court & Thieves.) With tons of dreamers in attendance it's even happier, super fun times. Prince decides to crash party with thieves. Everyone's in disguise. All the thieves have to do at this point is mingle and be mysterious while avoiding drawing attention to one another.
Shortly after everyone arrives (because we don't want to hold up Angel's plot) the Prince disappears after the bard's song. The Queen can wander off to "check on things upstairs" on a cue, and a moment later the Prince will appear with the Queen "captured" in his arms. After a short "mwahaha" speech he will make his escape, assisted by the thieves making a diversion in the crowd, and both the Prince and Queen zip off to the Nightmare room.
Cross-over time. We still need feedback from Nightmare room, but it will result in the Prince needing to save the Queen and try to take her back to Adventure room HOWEVER somewhere in the "travelling" through the mirror he loses her. That's when you get to go to Flying Room and the Prince will end up back in Adventure.
We need to do this before the end of Day one and relatively early in the evening because Angel's plot for Day one does not end with the ship falling.
Quote: Our ship starts to go down very shortly after the attack, making us unable to give immediate chase. We start to fall out of the sky. We ask guests to help us throw some heavier objects off the ship, while our fairy works frantically to create more dust.
So in order to give Angel time with her plot we will need to be communicating with her once we get to the Nightmare room.
Day ONE ends with both the Queen and Prince missing. In the Court the Bard and Knight will be trying to keep order, and the Thieves will be causing mischief (taunting the Boy King when they can) while avoiding getting arrested. As much muckity muck as possible.
Day 2
The Prince arrives back from his travels in the dream mirror. At this point he will probably be followed by a character from the Nightmare room, but as we still need their input we'll have to work their interaction in later.
With the Queen absent, the Boy King just a boy, and the Heart in his hands, the Prince takes control. Now the Thieves are in charge of the Adventure room and they have big plans! Basically, they are the scary 80s teenagers throwing a party while mom and dad aren't home. Anything (PG13 limit) goes here, and the more they get to embarrass the Knight and the Bard by ordering them around the better.
At whatever point is best for you, the Queen can make her way back. I personally think it would be best to make it later in Day TWO for her to arrive, but if things don't work out that way then we can improvise! She doesn't have to get rescued, but depending on how things go in the room the Bard could begin to recruit guests and encourage them to "brave a dangerous quest" to restore the Queen to her kingdom.
When the Queen comes back the Prince is surprised and relieved because even he was starting to get bored of all the chaos. He missed having an authority figure to rebel against. Not to appear relieved, however, as a final prank he tosses the heart into the crowd of guests and the REAL chaos begins as each guest gets to try out the heart and order the Knights and the Queen around.
This should be the last thing we do for Day TWO, ending it off with a high note of fun and craziness. Throughout the night we will have the thieves monitoring (unofficially) the use of the heart to make sure that no one is abusing it.
Day 3
The effects of the Thieves' influence on the room is really starting to show. Bits of the castle are completely ruined: the Gardens are littered with garbage, all the best decorations have been fenced, and the grand hall is in complete disarray with dogs and horses inside, food everywhere, and all sorts of rough looking thugs and ruffians having escaped from the dungeons are taking over where the Knights would have once kept them in the dungeons.
Worst of all, these ruffians are even starting to mess with the dreamers! When things are at their worst, this is where the Boy King makes his speech and retrieves the heart. With a sentimental moment the son makes the mommy better. WITHOUT retrieving the heart. During this moment the heart disappears and the Queen is apparently better WITHOUT the heart!
As soon as the Queen is back to normal, and the Knights are free of the influence of the magical heart, the thieves are in jeopardy of being arrested. They can try hiding behind guests, disguising themselves, or running away but all of their bags of tricks have already been depleted due to the hardcore partying.
Guests may sympathize at this point and try to help the thieves, but it is really looking grim for them especially since the Prince seems to have disappeared. Thieves (and sympathizers) surrounded, about to be arrested by the knights & guards, the Prince makes one of his timely arrivals. He selflessly offers himself for the rest of the Thieves if they will be let go. Because he's such a notorious outlaw and the cause of all that's happened, the Queen agrees and the Prince is clapped in irons by the Knight and hauled off to the dungeons.
The Thieves are free to go, but of course they stay in disguise because they want to rescue the Prince.
(btw this is getting close to the end of Day 3 because Day 3 usually ends early)
So, rounding up as many of the sympathetic guests and friends they have made during this ball, the Thieves are trying to come up with a plan to rescue the Prince when suddenly there is an announcement. a "Prince of Dayne" is announced, bringing a "very special present for his nephew." Everyone looks and a (seemingly) total stranger (but very handsome one!!) is at the entrance to the hall with a small, golden chest in his hands. There's something very familiar about him but no one knows who it is. It is really the Prince, but he's removed his 'thieves' clothes so no one recognizes him. If guests start to make a fuss then it's up to the Thieves to say "don't be ridiculous!! we'd recognize our OWN Prince of Thieves - duh!" or the Court to say, "impossible!! weren't you here when we arrested the Prince?!"
He gives the present to the Boy King, even though no one remembers the Boy King having any Uncle, and while everyone is still confused the stranger departs. When the box is opened it's the Queen's heart, good as new, and the stranger AND the thieves are all gone, vanished!!! (because while the Boy King is wondering whether he should open it the Prince is joining his Thieves Guild and telling them it's time to go.)
It's hard to time it perfectly, so if there is time left to spare the Thieves will be hiding out in the Gardens if guests want to interact with them while the Court is entertaining in the Great Hall.
