It was the same song and dance most people were dealing with these days. See an ad in the paper or in a window, get an application, fill out application, hand in, pester the manager, pray you get an interview, pray you passed the interview, pray for job. Devlin wasn't the most pro-active in his employment search, only going on sprees of filling out and dropping off the applications every two or three weeks. He'd rarely follow up on them, and the interviews never panned out. If he even went. Not that he found the loss to be tragic. Wasn't like he had bills to pay, and he could stretch the bucks his parents gave him relatively far.
But it also wasn't like extra spending money wouldn't be a wonderful thing.
So here he was, opening a door and spilling more of the mid-afternoon light into a building he'd only once before had reason to enter. A sheet of paper hung from the hand not shoved into his hoodie pocket. It was hard to not stop and stare at some of the different displays, photos, and gear. A falconry place. Huh. It caught his interest more than the usual places he threw applications to. Now the questions for him was, would the people? Would the work? One question at a time, though. He continued a little further into the store in an attempt to find someone to hand the application off to. Maybe even find himself a manager to greet, if he got semi-lucky.
"Anyone here?"

Kestrel was on shop duty. She never liked it much preferring to be out with the birds and flying them but then some things had to be done. She had brought Parsley in with her and he was on a stand near the till with a hood on, just to help keep him calm. He was only there because Kestrel loved him too much to not have him with her.
She had been stroking the harris hawk when she had heard someone come in. A customer! Oh yes! They had been low on customers recently due to the time of year and then the weather. They were getting well known for their flying displays and they had started to go into schools as well though Kestrel wasn't allowed on the school trips. A dodgy past meant she couldn't do everything she wanted.
"Hey!" She called as she rounded the corner and then stopped dead. He was the guy from the park. She smiled a bit and tried to hide the shock of seeing him. "Can I help at all?"

It wasn't too shocking to not see a bunch of people mobbing the place. Fit him just fine. More of a chance to talk to whoever was on duty, least in theory. He looked up from a few photos of what he guessed where shows when he heard someone heading his way. Copper hair, girl. He caught her hesitation, something that drew his eyes to her a few seconds longer before they went back to the various displays in the store. He didn't have enough of an ego to assume she'd stopped due to his looks, but a slightly amused tone snipped out, "Shocked I'm real?" It didn't occur to him to elaborate, that he was commenting on the fact he was a real customer. Well. Not entirely. But her reaction did make him chuckle.
He took a few more steps towards her, though only actually glanced at her once or twice more after he skimmed his application a final time. "Turnin' in an application. Y'got a manager here or somethin'?" Because why be polite and see if she could, in fact, help him out instead? Pale blue eyes flickered back to the young woman, frowning slightly. Huh. She kinda looked familiar. The thought breezed away almost as quickly as it came. Probably just saw her last time he was here and got the application. His attention kept moving, till finally his steps brought him forward enough that he caught sight of the perched hawk. "s**t. Bigger than I figured it'd be." Well that was kinda cool. How'd they get those hoods on them? Wouldn't the birds just bite them or whatever they did? "It got a name?" He was expecting something like Razerwing or whatever.

"Oh erm yeah something like that." She smiled feeling slightly stupid that she made her shock so obvious. "I can take the application if you would like, no one else has applied so you stand a good chance." She smiled as she walked closer to him and took the form before putting it in a draw behind a desk.
"Really? He isn't that big for a harris hawk. He is called Parsley and is like my big baby. If you want you can fly him?" She thought she might as well offer, he was pretty much guaranteed the job if he wanted it so might as well get use to the birds at the same time.
"I can give you a tour as well if you want? I am Kes by the way." Introductions were always a good idea!
