Painite had let him lean, and even cling, to her as she brought them as close to the hospital as was safe before they had both powered down. The jostling of traveling as they had made the sick feeling worse and what food had been in his stomach had come up. Shuffling, bent in half, toward the hospital he'd gone right to sign in. Turning in the papers he had to wait a short while before being called by the triage nurse so she could get his blood pressure and the like.
From there he had to give over insurance information, he was glad he had his wallet on him. Filling out the information he didn't have long to sit and wait. It seemed that some doctor in the back figured it was a good idea to get someone with possible broken ribs in to x-ray and make sure nothing else had been damaged. So asking Gently to wait by the bed he'd been assigned he let them take him to x-ray and then bring him to the bed where he now half sat.
Slate eyes on Gently before looking around. "Thank you for the pick up. I wasn't expecting to need assistance against someone my equal." In level at least. He had underestimated the knight, because he had a conversation with them the last time where they'd seemed to dislike fighting. He wouldn't make the mistake again, next time he wouldn't lose.
Gently he drew the hospital issue blankets about himself, it was cold back here and the gown was very thin and did nothing in the way of warming a person. Slender as he was he was prone to getting cold fast and easy. Someone was supposed to getting him pain meds, he didn't want to take them but knew he should. Pain medications tended to make him light headed and dizzy, not something he wanted to experience right now but he had no other option, he'd have to take them.

The Negaverse General was not happy.
Not.
Happy.
She did not like it when someone attacked her boys, her soldiers. Any of the Negaverse soldiers she had worked with or awakened, teamed up with once or twice or formed a deep bond with. Especially those last ones. No one attacked her friends and got away with it.
No one.
For now, though, Gently couldn't do anything to get revenge for the state she had found the Captain in. Benitoite had been beaten soundly, and her worry for him on a personal level outweighed her need to go and crack some skulls in on his behalf. She stayed very close to his bedside, her hand on his arm or holding his hand when she was able to.
"What happened to you? How did you let him hurt you so badly? I'm going to murder that bloody knight," she growled lowly, still furious and worried, and very upset because of it. She did not like being upset, but at times likes this she couldn't help herself.

He knew she wasn't happy, with the situation or him or both. He wasn't sure really, and wasn't all too keen on asking either. But he was sure if he asked she'd say something about wanting to hurt, or kill, the Knight who had put him in this shape.
Shifting, wincing in pain, he gave her hand a squeeze, glad for her presence. Alexandre knew it was perhaps a weakness to be so close to others but he was also human and unable to not be close to certain members of the Negaverse - like Gently.
"Went in to it assuming a win." A choked and gasped on laugh passed his lips, his sides held tightly but one arm. Laughing was not a good thing, he'd have to keep himself from doing that for a while. "I've met him - doesn't like to fight and wants peace. Didn't think him a risk. Have to say, I likely pushed it though." He said, not explaining how, though maybe the next line would give a hint to what he meant. "Fought his girlfriend, two nights ago." That win had been assured, he was sure of that. If the sirens hadn't been closing in he'd have had the win on her, as for her starseed he didn't know. That would have depended on how hard she could have made things. He might have, though very unlikely, have taken it. "Green hair. He was out for revenge - to put my to sleep." Or something like that, he remembered the words but didn't quote the squire.

Gently wasn't too angry with him, though she was upset with him for letting himself be hurt. Putting himself in that situation, and not calling her sooner. It wasn't his fault, he couldn't have known what that damn knight would do, but she still hated it.
She hated knights.
But most of all, she hated that he was in the hospital and she hadn't been there to prevent it. One of her own, one of her friends. Not just a fellow in arms but a dear companion to her. Someone she could not afford to lose, and would never risk.
But she had very nearly lost him anyway.
"Never assume, Alex, never assume you're going to win. I know it's hard not to, and I know I'm the last person not to advocate it but... don't follow my example there. They're all dangerous. They'll hurt you... I didn't know they bought into revenge like I do but I'll damn well show them how to play this game they've started."
Her voice turned to a growl, and she looked at him with surprisingly dark eyes. No matter how light they were, anger and hatred swirled. The cloud lifted a bit, though, as she regarded him.
"You should be resting, not talking so much. I shouldn't be pushing you..."

He hadn't had an opening, a real opening, to call her and he had really thought he'd had the win. Why would he have thought other wise? The Knight wasn't any higher in rank than he himself was. So he'd thought it a fairly even match, at least that way, and knowing the Knight he was sure they weren't a fighter. He'd been proven wrong, and not in a way he liked.
Biting his lip he nodded slowly. "I know, I won't assume next time." There would be a next time, he just didn't know when. He was certainly planning for it though. He would have another chance at that Knight. "I've simply never had an issue with a Knight, or this one." So he'd had no reason to do anything but, but he'd now learned his lesson. Though he was sure he'd likely not think the next time, might take a while to sink in - to not assume with a Knight.
"It's fine...doctor should be in soon..." And hopefully he could leave soon, he could do with rest which he'd like to take at home.

Gently watched him, then patted his cheek lightly with her hand. She was just happy he was alive, even if a little banged up and broken. She would rather have her friends that way than not at all, though ultimately she preferred them not to be hurt at all.
"Knights are worthless," she grumbled, "they serve no purpose in this war but to get in our way, and that makes them expendable. Even more so than senshi. They're like ants. We'll get rid of them."
She growled and shook her head.
"But for now, you heal and we'll get some revenge when you're better. I'll go see what's taking that doctor so long..." she bounced up from her seat, hoping away from the bed so she could try and find a doctor for him. She was told to be patient and to wait in the appropriate areas. She didn't cause too much of a fuss, sighing as she returned to his side.
It was hard to switch off her Nega side and focus on the civilian moments, but she felt like right now it was necessary. They could worry about knights and battles and revenge as soon as the doctor told them he was okay to do so.

Smiling, bright but also soft at the same time, he leaned into her tough. She really was beyond just a fellow agent, he wouldn't say a motherly sort but not a friend either. She was something unnameable and yet necessary. He was glad to have her around and to have her so easy to call, like he had only how long ago?
Listening to her he nodded his head. Worthless yes, certainly, but shouldn't senshi be handled first and foremost? They were the more formidable enemy, he didn't say this though. They could handle the knights, aside from this one tonight he hadn't yet met one (not that he'd met many of them) that were to be worried over. Again, he was perhaps underestimating them but it was based on experience with them so it was understandable.
"Thanks. I'd like to know how bad I messed up." Rolling his eyes as she bounced off. When she did return, without a doctor, he figured they might still be busy looking over things or handling someone else.
"I heard them bring someone in." He pointed to a closed off bed. "Took too many Tylenol...." That said with something of a smile, right before the doctor he'd been waiting for arrived with news - two broken ribs.

Gently smiled at him, teasing. She needed to relax a bit, and she shook her head. He was safe and sound, and they were capable of at least laughing a little. That was a good sign. He just needed to heal and not get himself hurt ever again, and she would be just fine with that.
It wasn't asking that much of him, was it?
When the doctor finally arrived Gently looked dismayed, but listened as the doctor explained what two broken ribs meant, and how he needed to take care of himself. They would be able to do a bit better than modern medicine, with the Negaverse and the energy they could consume, but she still didn't like the idea of him being in pain.
He would have to stay at the hospital for a bit, they advised, but if he wanted to leave he could also sign a paper and go home. Gently, despite her own aversion to hospitals, imagined it would be better if he stayed and rested. Senshi tended not to attack hospitals, as nice as they were, and he wouldn't be tempted to power up and get himself into more trouble.

They didn't bind up the mid section anymore, just lie on the side with the injured ribs. He listened to the instructions and took the prescription for the pain medication, which he didn't plan to take. He had an issue with pain medications, they tended to make him dizzy and send the world spinning in ways which made him ill. He nodded his head though anyway, tucking the script under his pillow for the moment.
The one thing the doctor didn't know was he could help himself in healing, or rather consuming a little energy would help. It wasn't information he was about to offer up, for many reasons, but he glanced to Gently wondering if she was thinking the same thing he was. It would help at least on one front, with healing, the pain he'd get something for at home. Till then he'd manage the best he could, he really wanted to avoid having the world to a tilt and spin.
"Plan for me Gently?" Would he, or would she rather he, spend the evening here or head himself home. He knew enough to not risk himself in another fight, he didn't care for injuring himself further. To injure himself further would just mean more pain and more down time...and a lecture from Gently he was sure.

Gently was, and looked very calm and relieved because of it. She knew that he wouldn't be too injured for too long, which was one of the few bright sides. The first and biggest being that he hadn't been killed. But being able to heal quickly was a blessing.
Not that she would take him out hunting with her, as she would baby him like a mother hen for some time until she was absolutely certain no trace of injury was left on him.
Maybe she could bring him a get well soon present. The knight's starseed in a little ribboned box?
That would be a very nice present indeed, for both of them.
"I'll take you home," she said, and not meaning by car. "Tomorrow morning. You should rest here tonight, and I'll come back with something to make you feel better." Meaning some energy. And maybe her kitten, because who didn't feel better with kittens around?

Six weeks, according to the doctor, to heal. At most he said eight weeks. How far that healing time could be cut down he didn't know, but he hoped he could cut it down to a month and a half and take it easy the next few weeks but at least get back to work.
Laughing, something he quickly regretted as he bit his lip hard, he quieted and nodded his head meekly. It hurt laughing, a pain he'd not felt before which he couldn't describe, his midsection felt like it'd really been bruised but he knew it was more. Understanding her words, he kept his arms about his mid section. "Alright, I'll be good, promise." He couldn't run off from here and get himself back home. "That'd be nice...maybe espresso also?" Energy would be nice, he was sure she meant that. Energy could always make a person feel good, or at least any Negaverse agent.
((Think we should finish here or with Gently leaving?))
