It was not long after Trickery's chat with Akakios that it was time to set off back to her little home. By now her aoidei were no doubt wondering if she had tried her luck sneaking in the Underworld or some other place that was equally dangerous. It was a small wonder that Asherah in particular had not come looking for her by now, since she had been gone far longer than originally planned.
At this particular moment however Tien was occupied with the task of trying to find her horse who seemed to have wandered farther than expected. No doubt seeking friends or more likely treats that could only be found in these gardens. The mare really was a spoiled creature. "Mocha...where'd you go off to now? Silly girl." She weaved her way through the greenery, seeking hoofprints or other telltale signs that a horse had passed by but was unsuccessful so far.

 Forest had found the horse wandering about the orchard, snacking on fallen fruit while he'd been out for a stroll. Much had happened in recent days that left him in a rather pleasant mood. The certain buzz had him smiling frequently while he tended to his duties.
He was beside the horse now, wondering where she'd come from - the healthy coat and lack of shyness around people indicated she was domesticated. While most creatures never seemed bothered by his presence, wild ones were cautious at least for the first bit... this horse, however, had been relatively friendly.
When someone called out, he paused with his hand on the equine's shoulder and looked around, ears perked, "Hello!? Mocha's her name?" He patted the shoulder and walked around, offering another apple to the spoiled horse, "Is she yours?"

"There you are! Should have known you'd be here. Being the applefiend you are." Tien came over and ran a hand over the mare's back. Her gaze flicked over to Glyph, eyeing him up and down quizzically. He looked vaguely familiar, but she couldn't quite place it at first. "Thank you for finding her. I let her roam in the gardens when I come and visit, usually it isn't such a chore to find her afterwards."
Then it hit her and she felt rather silly not remembering. Relighting the Sky...the Council! He was one of the councilors!
"Your name is Glyph, yes?"

"Aah, understood. I found her loitering about under the apple trees... she seems rather fond of the fruit." He chuckled, curious as to the once-over he'd gotten. This woman was a goddess, he was certain, and they usually didn't react like to one another... maybe it was his soil stained trousers and dirty fingers? He worked with the earth a great deal...
"Glyph? Yes, actually. Have we met before?" His expression turned quizzical as he tried to recall if, and when, he'd seen her. Maybe while he'd been asking around after Forge? "Did I ask you about Forge?"

"She is, if you had any with you she would be trying to steal them from your pockets." It seemed the mare had heard her, she dipped her head and set about sniffing Glyph to see if he might indeed have any treats. The goddess laughed at that, lightly scolding the mare before turning her attention to Glyph again. "Mocha, its not polite to pester someone you just met."
She shook her head. Silly animals. "She's only like that because my aoidei spoil her rotten. And, no, you haven't. I saw you when you stood for Council, aside from that we've never crossed paths."

"Good thing I have no pockets to steal from then!" He laughed and rubbed the horse's head as she sniffed about his waist. "I don't mind, she's friendly enough."
When Tien spoke of their lack of familiarity, Glyph seemed relieved, "Oh good, I was worried we'd met and I'd somehow forgotten! Pleasure to meet you." He smiled, "But I'm afraid while you know me, I don't know you. And... since you're here would you mind answering a few questions? I've been looking for someone but they appear to have gone missing - have you seen or heard of a goddess called Chalybis, or Forge, any time recently? Her host's name was Danielle from what I understand, if that helps."

Trickery traced lazy patterns in Mocha's coat as she considered Glyph's questions. "Hn...the name Chalybis is familiar, but I don't recall meeting her. Probably reborn before my time." Many were and even more had been reborn since, it was hard to keep track. She never stopped to consider that Forge might not have been truly reborn at all. "Though, I have something in my possession seems like something she and her host might have made. I don't remember when I got it. It's a mirror."
She frowned a little and looked back at Glyph. "Not much help, am I? Names Tien, by the way."

He nodded, "Reborn long before mine as well... I've only be able to find rumors and memories of her but no solid location... I'm beginning to wonder if she hasn't completely disappeared." He perked when she mentioned the mirror and titled his head.
"Echo mentioned a mirror too but it was lost to Gehenna... you still have it? It might be helpful in locating her!" He grinned broadly, "Tien, then. What domain do you stand for?"

"I do, its in my humble little home some distance from here. You can accompany me to get it, if you like." She grinned widely, offering a performer's bow. "Trickery, is who I am, dear Forest."

"Would you mind?" He asked, encouraged by her willingness to cooperate, "Aah, Trickery is it? I trust no wild goose chase lies in store for me?" Glyph laughed easily, gesturing for Tien to lead the way, "I'm glad you have the mirror, hopefully it will be of help. I have no idea where Forge or her host would be... You'll let me know if you find her hm?"

"If you weren't about something that seemed important, I might've caused you a bit of trouble." Tien giggled and climbed up onto Mocha's back, settling herself into the saddle before offering Glyph a hand. "It's a few hours ride home and while it is a pleasant walk that way is much slower."

He smiled, "I shall keep that in mind!" Watching her mount, he hesitated a moment, "I... haven't ridden before..."
He pursed his lips for a moment then shrugged and accepted her hand, then wrapped his arms around her waist, uncertain on how to go about riding horses, "Is your home through the woods? I may be of service if that is the case."

She looked back over her shoulder at him. "First time for everything, Glyph. Just hang on to me, if you feel like Mocha is running too fast let me know."
Tien picked up the reins and nudged the mare in the side to get her going, keeping to a gentle steady pace. "No, unfortunately not. It's an easy ride at least, even if it is somewhat long." It didn't take long before they were out of the gardens, through the market and out onto the road. Mocha sped up a bit once they were out on the open road. The weather was nice, so it would make for a pleasant journey.
"What has you out looking for Forge all of a sudden, especially if her existence is all rumor and memory now?"

He did as she was told, resting his cheek on her back and holding her about the middle lest he fall off. At least they were moving at a reasonable speed.
"The Council intends to make use of the knowledge we hope to recover and make items - weapons, armor, that sort of thing - that can be used to fight against the Grigori without disintegrating. Normal items won't stand a chance... and I asked Fire is she would stoke the forges. She suggested I find Forge but hadn't seen her in some time, so I started looking." He frowned, "Turns out that those who knew her haven't seen her in a long long time. I fear the worst and so I'm looking in the hopes to get her assistance. It's been difficult, though, with so few leads and so few people having even heard of her."

Tien let go of the reins with one hand and patted Glyph's gently while her foot nudged Mocha in the side again to speed her up a touch more. "See. Everything is just fine. We'll be there in no time." She laughed, enjoying the feeling of being 'free' again after spending so much time at the Pantheon.
"It certainly makes enough sense to try and find her. No doubt we'll need the help." She hadn't seen the Grigori with her own eyes, but from the stories they seemed pretty unpleasant. "If you haven't already and get the chance to ask, the Eldest or those who serve him might know something."
The rest of the ride would pass quickly enough. Tien gradually slowed the mare down, eventually coming to a stop just short of town. "It isn't far now, but the people aren't accustomed to seeing us. Are you able to make yourself less obvious?" If he couldn't she would make due somehow. Outsiders did come to town occasionally after all.
