This week I would like to tell about something that happened to me about two years ago and get your opinion on it as well as asking you to post any dreams and/or ghost stories that you have. When my second wife died about two years ago I was unable to reach the hospital in time. She had been recovering and the nurse had told me to go home the night before. Well first thing in the morning I got a phone call from the hospital telling me to hurry as my wife was not expected to last another hour or two. I hurried but I arrived to late and by the time i got there she had already passed on. That same night I had a dream where my wife and I were in my Jeep making a cross country road trip, we stopped in a gas station and she asked me to get her a soda. Before I got out of the car she held me close, kissed me and told me she loved me, she also said goodbye. I went in, got the sodas and returned, but the Jeep was empty. Her seat was empty and suddenly right there in the dream I realized she was dead. I woke up screaming. It wasn't until later I felt as if she had come to me in my dream to say the goodbyes that we had been denied in life. I have never dreamed of her again. Of course it might have been nothing more than my brain working out a problem, (I felt very guilty about not being with her when she died) or it might have been a real supernatural experience. I just don't know. And I might never know.

I think the real question here is whether it matters if it was a real supernatural occurrence or not.

Obscurus I think the real question here is whether it matters if it was a real supernatural occurrence or not. I love her and I miss her, so a part of me would greatly prefer it if she had come back to me even if only in a dream. I am constantly in a flux between a state of belief and non belief. I want to believe but my rational mind does not want to be fooled. I have felt the presence of spirits and channeled entities. I have danced with great powers... or did I? I am never sure. Hope tempered by suspicion. Such is my life. confused I just read your blog, Contradiction and Duality in Esoterica. It helped me begin to understand some things about myself.

I'm glad it could help you out. My thoughts are that it doesn't matter if it's "real." All that matters is what it meant to you. If it brought you closure and helped you then I don't see why it matters if it was just a dream. We could argue for pages about whether it was a dream or a spirit visitation but none of that would change what you experienced and none of it would tell us what actually happened. In the end we're left with what you think happened and what it meant for you. That's why I think it's important not to miss the forest because of the trees.

She probably was saying her final goodbyes, I had a similar experience with a boyfriend of mine after he had passed, it was really realistic, I even approached him asking why he was here. So I do believe she was probably with you in your dream.
