A newbie moon had approached him at the party wanting to get to know the division. It often surprised Marcus when other trainees were older, yet he was the more ‘experienced’ one. A bit of a trip in some ways. He liked to think he knew things but it was odd to have an older guy ask him to show him around. Well, Marcus wasn’t going to judge. Hunters were hunters and age-as shown by the fact Dr. H was around as well as the youngest, Gale- it didn’t matter so long as they did as they were told and killed the abominations.

“So, Micheal. Nice to meet you. Like I said at the party, I’m Marcus, and so far, the only intermediate moon trainee. Any place you’d like to go to first? We’re in the dorms now, but not much to say about what’s here.” He motioned to the newly fixed coffee maker. “Just that the coffee making will be your best friend come the 3 am missions they like to send us on. It’s a life saver. Pretty much literally.”

Michael, if he had known Marcus thought of him as older, would not have been surprised. He had always been a little bit mature looking for his age which he may or may not have used to his advantage at less ID happy bars. But, he did not, so when Michael went to meet up with Marcus what he was thinking about was how nice it was to have another guy around his age in his division willing to show him around because asking someone younger than him would be weird and all the older Hunters where, well, slightly intimidating.

“Nice to meet you too, thanks for agreeing to do this again.” He looked over to the coffee maker with amused look as Marcus pointed it out, “I was always more of a tea person but if those are our hours I’m sure I’ll grow to love its miraculous properties.”

<<Blah, Blah, Blah who cares about drinks ask him to show us the best training grounds! Or where we’ll be doing missions! You know, exciting stuff.>>

Michael released the quietest huff of irritation he could manage, automatically reaching up to tug on the glow stick that hung around his neck in reprimand. He hadn’t realised it at the time but their first few days of lazy comrade and banter where Nucha giving him time to adjust to his sudden new life style. Now the bloody pest wouldn’t leave him alone about fighting and missions and well generally doing stuff. Maybe he’d ask Marcus later if there were any easy missions for newbies to do to see if it would get Nucha to shut up about it for a while.

“I guess I’d just like the highlights? Anywhere you think is important for me to know about, especially for our division.” He shrugged a bit here, “You probably know better what I should get a look at.”

Age was weird. Not something to linger on, (he didn't with Cass anyway). "Really it's no problem. This or training, which can get a bit repetitive." He laughed it off. "You'll get used to it. But, highlight- Damn"
Leaning to a wall he thought about it for a second. "Well, I'll take you to the place you'll often be headed to for missions when we actually head into halloween. The Life labs or really the Infirmary." Motioning he explained as they walked.

"The labs easy enough to tell, are run by the life division, which in turn is headed by Dr. H who's-well I am going to assume you've met the guy. Clarice too. There are other life hunters there, most work in the labs or the infirmary. If we end up having our s**t kicked in like we recently did we get scooted to the Infirmary." He shrugged. "As far as I can tell with us moon trainees we'd end up in the infirmary since our primary purpose is to defend. Any questions?" The building was easy enough to make out, the runic wards glowing even through the fog.

Michael reacted immediately to the mention of the good doctor and his assistant, shuddering and pulling a slightly horrified face. He really, really could have done without that intro. Seeing someone carry their own corpse was disturbing on a deep, deep level.

"Yeah- ah just one. Is there anything in particular I should avoid around the Doctor? After his... demonstration I have the deeply inspired need to never get on his bad side."

He was also tempted to ask if there was any alternative to heading to the labs for healing so he could just avoid the bloke all together but... if he was injured he honestly wouldn’t care who took care of him.

Oh boy, so they had gotten a doctor demonstration huh? Good times. It was pretty much a given at this point but hey, always interesting. Even if poor Clarice had to deal with it. "Well, never volunteer and if they guy gives any buzz off signs, haul a** out of there. We're a bit lucky since we're moon and thus, the most we'll have to deal with is experimental bandages or stays in the infirmary. A good rule of thumb is just to shut up and listen what they say. Worked for me so far."
Never mind he had- yeah. Yeah no Julie missions.

"But, that about sums up Life's building. We can head over to the main complex, cafeteria included. Unless there is something you'd like to see first?"

That all sounded like good common sense advice Michael, and would hopefully be easy to stick to.

"Hmm, no the main complex sounds fine to m-"

<<TRAININGGROUNDSTRAINGGROUNDSTRAININGGROUNDSTRAININGGROUNDSTRAININ->>

"-e. Though I wouldn't mind going to the training grounds after that. Is it just like sparing facilities or something more complex?"

Smiling lightly, Marcus was fine with that. "No problem and yes and no?" He began walking giving a shrug as they moved towards the main complex. "It's outdoors, though the main building has gym and it's pretty good as far as equipment and s**t goes. Spars take place outside for obvious reasons but weight lifting, some boxing, can use the gym. You might run into myself of Leon in there. He's one of the life trainees and a pretty cool guy. If you want to learn some defense from him I'm sure he'd be down with teaching you." And maybe punching you a few times for fun but that was Leon.

Stopping in front of the building doors, he was sure to ask- "Have you been on any missions yet, or no?"

"I'll make sure to look him up at some point then." Moon was all about defence after all right? And Marcus's wouldn’t tell him about a bad teacher he was pretty sure, he got the vibe that Marcus really loved his division. Michael was starting to get that.

"Hm? Nope? Would they take us out this early?" he would have thought they'd need more training on like, everything.

Marcus liked moon because so far, out of all the crazy, it was the one with the least. It had Julie and... Julie. Just about it. "And I guess it makes sense. Us strays, the first batch, as well as the hatchlings got a crash course in what hunters do very early on by the death division lead, Caelius. Since he's not here-" A shrug. "Somebody will pick it up."

Walking into the building He first stopped by the cafeteria, though he did take some time to point out the various class rooms along the way. But the cafeteria was the most important place really. "Self explanatory. The Cafeteria is come and go as you want. There used to be a nice old lady who made cookies but- not anymore. Now, we just have Julie. Who's cookies you never should try. A good thing to do is grab something from here that you can keep in your dorm for on the run snacking. If we get called out of bed, we might not have time to eat, so its just a good thing to plan for. Oh and the vending machines are good but expensive as hell."

"Caelius?" Michael mused softly vaguely remembering someone mentioning him straight after he'd woken up. Eh, he was sure he'd find out. "But, ah, thanks for the warning then. I'll try to be ready for it." he shrugged.

Michael listened along to the explanation of the cafeteria; the food thing made sense and hey if it meant he didn’t always have to walk out here for food that'd be good too. Though he did wonder what had happened to the nice old lady. Actually, on second thought, knowing what he did no he didn’t.

"So, what's up with Julie? You mentioned her at the party as well."

Julie's name earned a groan. "Well, she's uh....." He held a hand out trying to find the right words. "I assume her brand of nuts is from the mental trauma of being a hunter. Mostly? She'll give you a nick name and send you on crazy a** missions. Hangs around the kitchens mostly and uh if you ever get a gift from her?" Throat cutting motion. "No, just kind of...get rid of it. Discreetly. It's just- moon is like every division in that sense. We get our own brand of nuts."

Looking at the main building again, he shrugged. "That about covers this place, let's head over to the training grounds yeah?"
