~::Tanabata Festival (Both Nights)::~ [Swirl Snack Shop]
Imported from the sandy shores of Iwadate, the Swirl Snack Shop run by the Baek family has come to Inaba for two nights only! Offering a small variety of tasty and cheap treats, their warm and welcoming nature can sure draw in the crowds. For two nights the Korean imports will be providing sweet treats for the Tanabata festivities; their daughter will be handing out bite-sized samples the first night while her parents, the bear like man and the loud, but oddly warm woman prepare and sell them! To obtain a treat is simple, just stand in line in an orderly fashion and place an order. The Swirl Snack Shop provides all treats at an affordable price!
Quote: Event Rules 1. [The wide stand sheltered by a bright white and blue canopy bears a sign depicting an octopus with a smile, little lollipops and other treats clutched in its tentacles. In English the name of the shop is scrolled across the bottom.] Cotton Candy Sticks: The sweet cotton candy is made right before your eyes, the spun sugar can come in two colors, pink and blue, depending on the request. It is said that Mrs. Baek will sometimes combine the two colors if she likes the customer.Chocolate Bananas: Bananas cut in half are skewered on a stick and dipped into chocolate, they may be decorated with sprinkles or nuts based on the customer's preference.Pudding Pops: The pudding pops come in three flavors: chocolate, vanilla and butterscotch, the pudding pops are freshly made in the morning and stored in a portable freezer. The pudding pops are shaped into a couple cute faces: a bunny, hello kitty and a koi. Just ask for the flavor and shape you want!Spiced Chocolate: Shaped into little octopuses and seashells, the spiced chocolate has a very warm sort of taste to it; the recipe is closely guarded and with a good reason! The chocolate is both sweet and very spicy, described fondly as it's “kick”! The recipe has been toned down for the festival to suit most people's tastes.[2 nights]

A white dress dusted her knees as she carried around a tray and smiled at all of the people passing by; she didn't have a Yukata, though on the second night the Korean girl had agreed to dress up nicer and perhaps don her hanbock; while it would make her stand out she would happily wear it. It wasn't often that she got to wear the beautiful outfit, but that was something for another night. Tonight she was to hand out samples and entice people to visit her family's stand. Though the girl was slightly tired she did not mind the work and even danced a little as she swung her tray around and caught people's attention. Kotaru Aoishi, THE YELLOW WOLVERINE ------->"I'm two quarters and a heart down, and I don't want to forget how your voice sounds..." He had to admit, the trip was a rather long one. He didn't think that it would be that long of a trip, and he had to admit that it was dreafully boring. Although, that wouldn't slow this boy down! A smile was plastered across his face as he couldn't help but think about what could happen today. He was filled with joy because this was simply a festival where all these women would just be dressed up around him! He could just imagine the number of girls that he could encounter today, especially with that Miss Orihime pagaent today! Now that was something he really looked forward to. Kotaru had to admit that his time traveling here wouldn't be a waste. He was glad that he was able to visit Inaba as well. That only meant that he can meet more women! Although, the real question for him was where should he start going after them? He was surely unsure on where to start since it took him quite a while as well to even figure out where this shrine was. It took about three maps an a lot of wrong turns. Although, the main reason he even had three maps was because he kept losing them on the way here! Today just wasn't day, but at least he made it! He began to walk on throughout the shrine eyeing about every girl he came across, but suddenly his nose caught the aroma of food! That was probably the only other way to catch his attention, but then again food and women together would probably have the same effect. Being lost for who knows how long and not eating anything in that time as well in this little town had its effects. As he began to follow the aroma a smirk spread across his lips as he came across a familiar person. He was just lucky somehow whenever it came to events, or maybe it was just fate. Pfft. An arm hooked around her shoulders as the yellow haired boy approached the girl with his usual cheery self. "Hey, don't I know you? Yeah, you're the girl with the beautiful smile," He started of course with his lame pick up lines. It was almost rare for Kotaru to make an approach to a woman without using a pick up line. It was like his way of greeting someone now, but boy did Kotaru sure love to bug Eun Hee. "...These words are all I have so I'll write them, so you need them just to get by."<-------

The blonde started talking to herself contemplating just how much she could indulge while she was here and just how much practice would have to follow after the festival was over. She walked up the the booth looking at her choices for what she could order.Gah, they all look so good, but what do I pick! she was tapping her fingers across the side of her legs trying to force herself to make a choice. "Oooh, those Chocolate Banana look good I'll take one of those with the sprinkles. That sounds good." she made made her decision chocolate and banana that seemed at least semi not terrible for her. At least that wouldn't throw off her diet or her eating habits that resembled a diet. Normally her vigorous swimming took care of any terrible eating she did.

She could resist buying something to snack on, but...her sweet tooth wasn't something that could be ignored for long. That was about as good of an idea as ignoring Kuro herself was. Not a good one at all. "Um...maybe just a blue cotton candy stick for now, please?" She asked the girl who apparently ran the snack booth. The soft sweet was enough for Kuro to satiate her craving for candy, for now.

The outfit and mask made identification a bit more difficult, but there weren't many people that Sawyer knew that she was more of less matched in height with. "Well that Spiced Chocolate seems interesting, I'd like of of those." Spiced Chocolate? Along with that smell, the fireworks open in a flash ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ Eun Hee had been smiling and had just offered a sample to a very cute couple when an arm slipped around her shoulders. There was familiarity in the gesture and perhaps that is why she didn't immediately freeze up or drop the tray in her hands. Instead as Kotaru dropped one of his famous pick up lines she glanced calmly over her shoulder and smiled at him. There was a slight redness to her cheeks, the blush that always accompanied comments and praises, but there was also happiness. It was good to see a familiar face here, she hadn't been sure if she would! ”Hello Kotaru!” the dancer said brightly and did not pull away from the blond. ”I did not know you would be here – would you like to try a sample?” The tray of snacks was presented his way, the sweets her family had perfected offered with the brightest of smiles. It was in part good business, but also in joy to encounter a friend here.
Mr. Baek looked at Minet and listened in gruff silence as she made her selection. There was the faintest hint of a smile on his bear like appearance as he set about preparing the snack for her; first peeling and slicing a banana before dipping it in melted chocolate. There was great care in his actions, the small flick of his wrist as he pulled it out of the chocolate and let the coating harden a bit before rolling it in a multitude of colored sprinkles; the tiny dots stuck fast to the chocolate as it hardened. The preparation of the treat was just as much a show as it was a simple task and Mr. Baek finished off the presentation by wrapping the skewer in a colorful napkin. ”175 yen... enjoy,” Mr. Baek said at last handing over the snack and waiting to accept the money.
”One cotton candy coming up!” Mrs. Baek said perhaps a touch too loudly as she picked up a paper skewer and turned on the cotton candy machine. The shorter woman had her hair tied back and a bandana wrapped around her forehead that read ”Fighting!”. She was cute in a quirky sort of way as she collected the blue colored spun sugar and hummed to herself. Her green eyes were quick as she spotted another young woman approach the stand and place and order. ”One moment dear!” she added as she turned off the machine and revealed a puffy cloud of sugar to Kuro. ”150 yen! Enjoy! Come Again!” Mrs. Baek had been about to move and retrieve two chocolates for Sawyer when her husband passed her two already wrapped in cellophane and tied closed with pink and purple ribbon. Mrs. Baek smiled brightly at her husband and winked as she whispered something to him in Korean and offered the treats to Sawyer. ”125 a piece! You should know me by now. If ther are women around of course I'll be there," The boy told her as he let out a light chuckle. It was a long journey just to arrive here in dead, but really, who could pass out on an offer like this? Once he had heard about it he had packed his things right away and took off. It really was different from Iwadate, and he had to admit that he did miss the waves a bit. Although, he could just find women to fill that void. "I didn't think you'd be here either, but I guess thats business. Plus, that just makes me a lucky man to catch you," Kotaru told her as he still kept an arm around her shoulders. She seemed pretty used to his actions by now since she didn't really reject it, but of course that idea didn't really bug him. As he was then suddenly offered for a sample as she brought a tray before him he kind of just stared at the tray for a bit as he let it process in his mind. "Don't mind if I do," He said as he took a treat off the tray and took a bite from it. There was no way someone could deny a sample, so why would he? "So, are you working all night? Because there is no way you can miss the fireworks," Kotaru said between bites as his eyes casually gazed off at other women passing by. Though, eventually, Kotaru's eyes had caught sight of Eun Hee's father who was also here. He had recalled what had happened the last time he had tried to pull the moves on Eun Hee, and well, he didn't feel like dying today. His arm immediately dropped from around the girls shoulders as he faced her again smilling a little more nervously now as he had hoped that her father hadn't caught him. Lord Seo Tachibana-Hakushaku, Head of the Taihaku Demon Clan "...Memento Mori - Laugh and be merry, but remember that you must die...""Is this what the kids are watching these days? I can't remember the last time I was able to watch a television," the low voice of the Lord of the Taihaku followed along not far behind the kitty-cat, his exceptional perception allowing him to weave through the crowd with little trouble despite being rather obviously distracted now by the mask that his companion had chosen for him. It was clearly some sort of a character, like a bug almost or some sort of a deformed motorcycle helmet from the face. It reminded him of one of those old-school fighting shows that were on the television where the heroes dressed up in costumes and beat up the monsters to save the city! What was the name of that show he had seen once? Super...Supah...Super Sensei...something? Whatever it was, his fingers, like a child, couldn't help but keep touching the figure of the mask's face and running over the contours, as if trying to judge what exactly the shape of it was meant to represent. It was this distraction that kept him from really noticing that they had reached the snack booth until his companion had stopped and begun to look through the different options that Eun Hee had available to them. Seo paused not far behind her, lifting the mask for a moment to take a good look into those hollowed out black eyes which he guessed represented some sort of an opaque lens? No, that wasn't right...translucent!...transparent? That one! Because the others would be inconvenient, after all. Hey, it was easy to get words mixed up when you've had to learn so many different languages, dialects, and vernacular over the years! And with his interaction being spread amongst so many, linguistics were just a natural subject of study for the Lord when he actually had the time and motivation to do it. Which, with his illness, wasn't nearly often enough. Where was he? Oh yes!
"Do you think that this mask represents some sort of an insect?" the Lord asked as his attention returned to his lovely companion, all dark hair and tilted head as she considered which of the many different snacks that she would like to try. He wasn't sure that he had ever seen her eating sweets to be truthful, but he had a feeling that she would be able to find something to interest her if she really wished it. Though it was also refreshing to see her hunger lead her here, rather than the fishing booth. As much as he enjoyed being around the girl, having the smell of dead fish on her breath all day would be a little bit...unpleasant? His nose wrinkled playfully at the thought, his crimson eye catching hers for just a moment and reading the question, his attention sprung to the shop and the singular item available which he had been hoping to find from the outset of this Festival! It wasn't a question of 'what' the Lord wanted, no, not when his eyes found that rack of fluffy pink and the strange contraption that created it. It was a question of how much he could handle before he somehow made himself sick! "Cotton Candy!" his hands clapped together and he beamed...err...as much as his pale, sickly frame would allow it. Those dark rings under his eyes seemed brightened slightly by the energy coursing through him as he laid down (far more than) the necessary yen, taking two of the little fluff-ball candies into his hands and offering the smaller of the two to his companion. "They say this stuff feels like a feather or wool or something, but sticky! And it melts into sweet sugar in your mouth when you bite it. Doesn't that sound exciting?"
His finger touched at the outside of the candy, probing, pulling back to reveal the slightest of sticky against his finger where the pink fluff had clung. He smirked and dipped his tongue out to taste it, getting a faint hint of the sugary goodness that awaited him. Oh, how he couldn't wait to bite right into this stuff...but ah! He had nearly forgotten his companion in his excitement. "Mai-chan, do you want anything else before we go? Hm?" the crimson-eyed man glanced at her out of the corner of his eye with a half-smile, seeming in an instant to shift from totally childish to only-slightly-childish with a hint of certainty about him, "No holding back now...it's a Festival! She scratched the back of her head for a moment in his question, actually not at all knowing the insides and outs of the show itself, all she knew that it was real popular. Even she was a little uncertain what it was supposed to mean. "Um.." she was about to put in her own input until suddenly Seo beamed up with his hands clapping together on the candy that he wished for and already jumping in to pay the young girl at the stand. It wasn't long until she found herself holding the cotton like sweet, already leaning in to take a sniff before leaning back with a curious smile. "It melts? But how...?" she questioned it, this was really odd! The texture looked like a sort of wool, so how in the world did it melt? As much as she's spent times observing and watching the humans through her life, it still amazed her with the things that they would invent and come up with. And of all things, a cotton ...sugar sort of candy that melts... What next? Her fingers took a tug at it before she was about ready to take a bite of the odd thing before looking up at the still smiling Seo. That smile... that was enough. Might as well go along with it, knowing for a fact that she needed this. She didn't want to think of when she was in some sort of hysterics after being reunited with him after the war had finally ended. Fingers tapped at her chin once again before she then looked towards the girl. "One of each, then!" the smile grew on her face but soon looked a little nervous as she turned towards her Lord once more. "If that's alright? Just wanted to try and see which one will be a favorite." And what was that about a spicy chocolate? How strange... "hm? Oh! The pudding ones come in different flavors and sizes! Ah, I have to choose...!" There was a bit of a childish, slightly frustrated face on the demon as the indecisive side started to show up when it came to the little things such as this. Vanilla? Chocolate? ..Butterscotch? And the sizes, which should she-- oh there's a koi! It was a lucky thing that it didn't take too much magic to keep that human form in tact, otherwise those tails of hers would be swaying from side to side over the choices. "A vanilla pudding pop, please? Oh! Koi shape! I think I can handle the vanilla flavor." she would give the booth owner the time to gather up the orders that she just made then went back to giving a light poke at the cotton candy before finally tugging a piece of it off of the top. Lord Seo Tachibana-Hakushaku, Head of the Taihaku Demon Clan "...Memento Mori - Laugh and be merry, but remember that you must die..."He hardly looked the part of a prince, and he wasn't exactly the charming sort. Nonetheless, Seo must have seemed at least moderately chivalrous when he set down his massive handful of yen for his and Mai's sweet treats (and then some of what you might call a 'thoughtless/thoughtful tip) and beamed at the dark-skinned girl, her light laughter more than enough to satisfy his indecision and let him know he had made a good choice in the end. It didn't really matter to him whether it was his making the effort to pay for the treats, that he was simply enjoying himself, or that they were enjoying each others' comfort that got her smiling, only that she was. His crimson eye watched her as she poked at the cotton candy and considered tasting it, instead catching his ever-growing smile and deciding that she would have to get herself a little more since he had offered. And that reaction pleased him, because it was only good manners in this country to accept one's hospitality and good will, wasn't it? Not that he would have minded if she turned him down either. Tonight was about casting aside those worries and little cares that weighed them down, ignoring the general order of things and simply letting their 'hair down', so to speak. This little snack attack was no different. "What I 'must' has nothing to do with it," the Lord countered with a half-chuckle, offering a grateful nod to the keeper of the booth as the twin-tailed kitty scanned the booth and made her selections, "It's simply what I wish for, if it will paint a smile on my lovely Mai-chan." That was what was most important in this night, after all. Returning the smiles to the faces of his haunted friends, bringing the light back into their eyes and reminding them that while it was important to remember the dead, it was also important to keep on living, to keep on having fun, to keep on enjoying life. For yourself, and for the others. After all, it wouldn't be long before he too...
"Didn't I just say you don't need to hold back?" the Lord teased as she asked if she could try a few, nudging her lightly with his thin elbow, offering a knowing grin before catching the question about the fishing booth and finding himself unable to avoid offering one more little quip, "And don't you think the sweets will spoil the fish?" Ah, he couldn't let the goldfishing booth go by without making an allusion to the Infamous Mai-chan Koi Caper. It was something that he was sure he must have dreamed up inside of one of his feverish states, like some sort of an amusing hallucination, had he not seen it with his own two eyes. His eye twinkled with mirth and his thin lips curled softly as he turned his gaze away from the snack stand now and off into the din of people moving to and fro, winding beneath the lights and the streamers from one booth to the other as they enjoyed the night. There were just so many beautiful things to see, so many entertaining little adventures to have, and it took him a while to discern (from the passing of people with little glass bowls and smiles on their faces) in which direction they would need to go to find the fish. And with that known, all teasing aside, he knew their course. After all, his Nekobaby had a fish to catch! His smile was honest and his energy infectious.
