Now that Jason had completed his initiation, he was at a bit of a loss as to what he should do next. It made sense that he should go and train with his weapon Zanthvos, or perhaps he should seek out a senior hunter for more information? Hell, he could find the library and study more about what they were fighting. The possibilities were endless. Though, he was surely tempted to just go to his dorm room and hide there for as long as possible. It would be nice and safe there, and he wouldn't have to deal with the possibility of making himself look like a total moron infront of someone that was a higher rank.
"No it wouldn't" He mumbled, Deciding that for now he would find the library. That would be the best option, wouldn't it?

Most of the tables in the library were empty, but one in particular was piled high with books, so much so that you could barely see the person sitting there, and it was altogether kind of creepy. Maybe Reine had gotten just a little too carried away, but this book looked interesting, and so did that one, and maybe that one on the next shelf....
In the end she'd gone back and forth from the shelves to her table, bringing new books over each time. To be fair, she'd needed to catch up on her reading, something she'd been promising herself to set time aside for. And because it was raining heavily outside, which meant no outdoors training, today seemed like the perfect day to do just that.
Reine stretched, sitting back in her chair, and looked out the window at the storm. What did they say about rainy days and napping, again... the words on the pages were already starting to blur, after all, she'd been here for hours. Maybe it was time to take a break.

It turned out to be a very good decision indeed, for as soon as he exited out of a building, he found himself running for the safely of the library as the rain poured down on his newly given hunter coat. It felt weird to be wearing such a uniform since he wasn't used to wearing them. Neither did he wear scarfs for that matter. But at least he looked pretty cool.
Entering the library, he was immediately drawn to one of the tables that had a abnormally high amount of books on it. Intrigued, he moved towards said table and was surprised to see someone behind all those books. A girl, whom he faintly recognized from their first lecture. Though he hadn't been able to talk to her, or any of the other trainees for that matter.
Clearing his throat, he faulted for a moment. Socializing wasn't his best skill, and considering that the last people he had held a conversation with where behind masks...this was kinda awkward.
"..Umm...You...seem to be good at reading..." He said, eyes drawn to the pile of books to see if he could make out any familiar titles.

The sudden voice startled her, and Reine fell out of her chair with a sort of strangled yelp. The library had been completely silent- comfortably silent- for the hours she had been sitting here, and not a single soul, even the librarian, had passed by, so she really hadn't been expecting anyone to approach her...
Clambering back up onto the chair the life trainee groaned, rubbing her head where she'd hit it on a table leg. God, that had been embarrassing, especially since this was a complete stranger, what kind of impression would he have of her now...
"I guess I'm fairly decent at reading," she replied, her tone a little more clipped than intended. As if trying to cover up her embarrassment, Reine turned back to her book, lowering her head and glaring at the words. It didn't work- she couldn't concentrate on them. A small frown on her face, she looked back up at him appraisingly, then pointed past her stack of books to the chair opposite.
"You can sit there if you want."

Jason hadn't expected her to fall out of her seat, his hands out stretched as if he had been trying to stop the girl from falling. He then winced when she hit the floor.
"A-are you okay?" He asked when she got back up, but was met with a quick response, and she then went back to her book. For a few moments he stood there, watching her and feeling rather awkward himself. Perhaps he should have made his presence known to her so she wouldn't have gotten spooked...
But instead, she looked up and offered him a seat. "Oh, um, thankyou..." The sun trainee sat down, feeling even more awkward now that he was sitting in front of her. To hide his nervousness, he grabbed a book from the pile (she wouldn't mind, right? there were plenty of books here). Though when he looked at it, he squeaked; a picture of a rather large looking werewolf was on the cover.
"V-very interesting book here!" He stammered in hopes she didn't hear him. "Umm...yes, a book about how to fight werewolves...heh heh"

"'m fine," Reine muttered in reply, flipping another page. Seriously, falling off a chair, didn't things like that only happen in cartoons or whatever? He didn't seem particularly judgmental at least- if anything the impression he gave her was 'awkward and shy'. She hadn't missed the squeak.
"Werewolves," she repeated, looking up at him- though she had to crane her neck a little, thanks to the stacks of books. Oh, he'd picked up that book she couldn't even stand reading a chapter of. The way it was written.. more like a terrible romance novel, especially that section on sparkly vampires or the like. "They're less interesting than I would've expected.."
Rummaging through the pile, Reine extracted one of the books she had actually enjoyed, a compendium of dragons from all around the world. As much as she hated to admit it, it was the pictures in the book that helped keep her interest. For someone used to reading research papers, Reine's stamina for non-fiction books had depleted considerably since she'd come to the island- and she blamed all the months of sleeping for that.
"Try this one," she suggested, practically shoving the book at him. "Unless you've already read it before, or something, I mean.."

Less interesting? How could something so large and terrifying be 'less interesting'?! It boggled Jason's mind how she could so nonchalantly read through these books, knowing full well that they would have to face the real thing. With a sigh, he opened up the book to begin reading, catching only a few words before another book was shoved towards him.
"Oh, o-okay then" He picked up the new book ready to read, only to grow deathly pale at the front of the cover. He thought a werewolf was bad enough, but a dragon? Those things were huge. and breathed fire. And could fly.
Too busy thinking about his inevitable death, Jason nearly missed the last thing that was said to him. "N-no, I haven't read this book before" He said while opening up onto one called a "Amphithere". "It looks like a very interesting book. It has plenty of information here..." He wasn't lying. It DID look like a good book to read. It was just a good book about the various ways dragons killed and ate things. Usually humans. He shivered at the thought.
"Not helping" He mumbled to his weapon.

Reine wasn't actually thinking about having to face the real thing; she was pretty bored, and so many of these books were so mind-numbingly dry, not to mention written in what seemed like Shakespearean English.. So really, she was looking for anything that resembled modern fiction... or well, non-fiction, rather.
It still seemed surreal, being here- knowing for sure that the monsters were out there, and not just in her imagination. Sure, she'd seen them in person, during missions, but she couldn't quite get over the fact that these things actually existed. So for her it was still 'fun' reading, memorising trivia and characteristics and really, learning as much as she could about them. It was kind of like reading a pokemon guidebook, and then you remembered these things probably really happened in the past... and okay.
Maybe not that funny after all. Either way, knowledge would do them good, and all the better that they had this library- did the monsters, too, read up about humans, how much did they really know..?
"Yeah, information.. can't do much without that, I guess. I don't want to go into a fight blind or something, y'know? Could easily turn into a life or death situation."
She eyed him somewhat curiously- he looked sort of twitchy and nervous and uncomfortable in general, though she had no idea why he would be- this was a library, not a training course or something. Could he maybe be a new recruit- after all, she'd met Justin, and it stood to reason that there were others from the same batch as him.
"You new here?" Reine asked. "I've never seen you around."

A life or death situation? Yeah, he was pretty sure any fight he would get into would end up being life or death. And chances were, he'd end up dead. Though the trainee had to wonder if that wouldn't be such a bad thing, especially if that was the alternative to running away screaming and leaving his comrades to fight it.
Not that he had any 'comrades'. since he was so new here.
At Reine's question, Jason looked up from his book, looking about as uncountable as he felt at her staring at him. "Yeah...I only just came out of my...pod...thing. I just went through my initiation the other day. I'm still getting used to not having a gask mask over my head."
A sudden thought occurred to him. "Actually..How long was I in the pod for?" He had no idea what day it was, or month...or year even. Could he have been in that pod for decades? Maybe even a century...

A newbie! And a fairly normal-seeming one at that, thank the heavens. Or the higher-ups.. sometimes it seemed there was no difference between the two. Whatever it was, the new trainee had piqued Reine's interest, and she stared at him, her eyes a little too bright, the grin on her face a little too wide. Up until now she had been one of the newest trainees, now this meant she was a little higher on the pecking order, maybe?
He did still seem slightly disoriented, and Reine could empathise with that- she'd felt the same way just after coming out of the pod, and having to deal with everything that Being A Hunter meant.. it wasn't easy. The almost-creepy grin faded into a smaller, more genuine smile, and she stuck her hand out towards him.
"Reine, life division. Do you know which you're in, yet?"
At his question, though, she couldn't resist playing a trick on him- he did seem kind of gullible. "I don't know when you entered your pod, but it's the year 2125 now. You'll have to do the math on your own.."
Look, Reine could manage a poker face.

((sdcjsdhk I'm so sorry this is lateee ;.; ))
....Why was she staring at him like that? Jason learned back in his seat slightly, feeling unnerved at her stare. What had he said that had made her take such a interest? Thankfully it soon disapeared, but he still did not feel entirely comfortable with the situation.
"A-h. Jason Kenneth" He replied, extending his own hand to shake hers. "I'm glad to meet you Reine. And I believe I'm in the moon division-"
And then the color in the trainee face drained completely, leaving a rather blank expression.
"...2.....2.......2" He couldn't even say the numbers properly, let alone comprehend that he had been in the pod for 113 years. What had happened during that time? What was the technology like? what the hell was going on
Questions began to spin around in his head. But for now, he sunk back in his seat, not losing his blank expression.

"Jason," she echoed. "Moon. Well, that should be interesting enough." They dealt with things like healing, right? "You should stay away from this one guy, though. Dakota." Wow, she was giving him advice, this made her a good.. senior-er trainee, didn't it? She didn't think it was necessary to warn Jason about Caelius, though- she just didn't really get the hype about him. Maybe she should say something about the Doctor, but Jason was a guy, so he was probably in less danger.. Just as she was racking her brains for more things to tell him, though, she caught the look on his face.
"Well yes," the life trainee smiled, leaning closer to Jason. "We're all cyborgs now, you know, technology and everything."
He looked so confused she had to try extra hard not to giggle, just in case that gave her away.
"Isn't it cooool?"

Jason may or may not have heard the warning about Dakota, it was hard to say. He knew she was saying something, but it was just so hard to comprehend anything else beyond the fact he was stuck in the future. It was like that show they had on TV, the one with the guy being frozen in a capsule. and sent forward a millennium, except a little less extreme in his case.
The trainee seemed to snap out of his trance when Reine mentioned they were all cyborgs. He blinked, and then blinked some more.
"C....cyborgs?" he almost squeaked out the words. "But....but how?? D-id I really die back there and they downloaded my memories into a microchip or something?!".
As to weather it was cool or not, Jason didn't seem to agree with her, and had in fact begun to tremble.

"Well you see," Reine explained. "We all made some of contract to get here, right?" Right. More accurately it had just been, well, being approached by a hunter, but that was a triviality as Reine was concerned, especially when it interfered with her storytelling.
"See, the monsters we have to fight are tough. So in order to stand some chance, us humans have to level up as well, you know? We're a lot tougher now, I mean, we're hunters-- okay, trainees, we have to be better than normal humans."
She might be getting just a little carried away.
"Anyway you're right about the microchip, good job, Jason, this means that no matter what happens to our physical bodies, we can recover, but the downside is that technology isn't as advanced as we would have hoped, so the chips degrade with usage thanks to FEAR, they tend to get a little corrupted."
What next, maybe she could bring time travel into this. Come on, Reine thought to herself. You've read so much science fiction before, you can't be blanking out here.
"So anyway yeah word has it that if your memory chip gets too corrupted it results in some mutation happening, and I've heard that you turn into a cyborg monster, one of those creatures we fight, but I've never actually seen it happening and none of the other senior hunters are willing to disclose details. Rumour has it they're developing a new system that can detect when you're too close to the mutation threshold, so they can, um.."
She paused, searching for the right word.
"Put you out of your misery."
And then she beamed at him.

At first Jason was O.OThen he was O___________Oand then he was ;.;And finally, he did this T____TEssentially, the poor trainee hunter had no idea he was being duped, and as a result he was trying to understand all this new information being given to him. The contract part he could remember- he had been approached by a hunter before and had signed a contract. But the rest, yeah, he didn't want to be corrupted and become a monster. He really didn't want to
And again, Zanthvos had proven he was no help to the situation at all.
"S-so..." Jason eventually stammered. "Is there anyway...to slow the corruption process?"
