Prema was a kind and very loving Wild Dog, though alone in the world she still strived to find happiness in something. Once, she even talked to an entire ant hill and tried to make an even bigger hill! Though she did have a rough upbringing and had been forced out of the only pack and family she truly knew. Only to keep her mother's existence intact. Also to keep the Alpha's sanity towards the colour purple and the thought of her father out of the way. But in the end, it was the only thing that made this happy wild dog's heart throb.
In the end after every day Prema really just wanted to find friends, and love and happiness to fulfill her life. Today, it seemed to be the task of keeping her life in check. Doing her daily prance around the waterhole.

A waterhole, thank the gods!
It had been hours since Praemonevi had seen any source of water and she was desperate, nearly dying of thirst. But she could see the sunlight reflecting off the water and the tired wild dog urged a bit more speed into her weary legs, managing a kind of trotting pace that took her to the edge of the waterhole before collapsing.
Gratefully, she buried her snout in the refreshing liquid, slaking her thirst. After several minutes of this, 'Monevi felt she'd recovered enough to actually look around. The first thing she saw was - gasp! - another wild dog!
She felt the cold claws of fear grip her heart for a moment, though she had never seen the other female before, nor anyone with markings like that. Forcing her voice to stay calm and steady, she spoke.
"G'day."

It was all slow motion seeing the other Wild Dog move closely to the waterhole and her eyes brightened. She needed Prema's help! Before she could get there though the female had already begun quenching her thirst. With that though Prema moved to the female. Hearing a friendly good day she grinned happily. It had been a long time since another of her breed outside of her old pack.
The other femme did seem a little on edge however. Prema's ears lifted forwards, chuffing a little under her throat. Sitting by the female. Close enough to hear natural conversation. "Hello!" She said happily. Giving her a smile. Showing her utmost kindness. "Why are you so thirsty? Did you just tour the entire desert?!" She asked curious.

'Monevi stared at the other wild dog. She hadn't heard so many words in...in days! And those she had heard were her own, just to make sure she wasn't losing her mind. To have so many thrown at her in quick succession...the red and tan wild dog had to shake her head to clear it.
But she wasn't sure how to answer the questions. She didn't exactly want to say that she'd been running almost nonstop for some time now, trying to get away from her pack. She didn't even know how many days it had been, for they'd all blended together sometime back. All she knew was that the moon had grown and shrunk in the sky and was now growing again.
"Ah....Ah was traveling," she said at last, still staring at the other wild dog. Damnit, what did she do now? A voice from her past came back to her, a lesson long forgotten. 'Ask a question of your own,' it said to her. So she would.
"What abaht yerself? From aroun' here?"

Thinking about how to approach this female she tilted her pretty purple mask. She smiled. She liked the accent, they always made a--n.. animal?.
Traveling. She tilted her head again, more so inwards to herself. She knew traveling. She'd been doing it since she was an adolescent. Prema had been alone for many moons. When she was questioned she looked up at the tan and red femme kindly. "No. From deeper in the north." She admitted and shook out her fur. "Runnin' from a past that doesn't ring my bell and fancy.. I gather." She huffed. Thinking on her father's dark form. His purple fur that she bore. "But during my travels I notice how proud I am that I left it behind me. Ya know?.." She blinked a little.
"Come from a pack who'd rather me dead. Because of someone I resemble. Someone closer to my heart then any of those low in mind."

She was surprised to hear that the other female was no more local than she herself. And to hear such a story behind it. 'Monevi found herself nodding in agreement.
"Ah know what that's like," she commented. "Ah've a similar story meself. Baht the details differ." Indeed, she was grateful for those differences. Otherwise this whole encounter would go down as incredibly creepy and to be avoided at all costs.
Still, she could hear the old hurt in the words if not the voice that gave life to them. And, though it wasn't what she truly wanted to do, she'd been raised to be polite - aye, and caring - towards strangers.
"Didya...want t'talk abaht it?" she offered.

She was curious and maybe talking about it would be the better idea. She shifted her eyes a little and squinted. "Makes the heart hurt." She admitted and breathing in unsteadily she lowered her ears. "I love my ma and my father a lot and my heart is deep with love. I will follow the course of love my whole life.. To show those dark to it that.. There is some hope in the world I gather."
She admitted and lifted her head. "My name is Prema Cytherian.. First off." She bowwed her head a little.
"I've talked about it before but it was mainly to those who bypass my life. In short.. My father lead a rebellion against a truthfully harsh Alpha.. In the end the Alpha died to a bloodbath lead by that same brute my first memory was filled with.. My father was a lover. Much like me.. He bore a pelt of purples.. Darker then mine.." She smiled reminiscing. "My dad met his demise under the Alpha's son.. When I was a little bit of a Juve my mother hid me.. The dogs of purple pelts began to be banned from our pack. That or they began.. To sacrifice them. Or so that is how Ma put it.. When I was an adolescent I was allowed to talk about my pelts. I was his daughter in the first place.. They banned me when I declined their measures. When I declined that I would ever call my father down for what he did. When they told me they'd kill Ma, my sisters and brother.. I accepted the ban on my name.. I put my name in vain instead of my father's."
She breathed out. "I still love him. And I keep my old man Cytherian, in my heart."

Yellow eyes widened in silence as Praemonevi listened to Prema's tale. The words poured out of the purple wild dog and though they were simple, she knew that there was heartache and pain behind them. The red and tan dog was surprised to feel sympathy stirring in her heart, a feeling she'd thought buried beneath her own pain.
"Well," she said when Prema had finished and taken a few more breaths. "That's right tragic, an' I'm glad for your sake that you're out ah thar," she replied. She cast around for what to say next and remembered she hadn't even given her own name yet.
"Ah'm Praemonevi," the reclining female introduced herself. She hadn't gotten up when Prema first came over, and though her legs felt better, experience said they'd feel like jelly for some time yet. She had time. And she supposed that one tale called for another.
"Ah come from the west," 'Monevi went on, hesitant, but then stronger the more she spoke. "In mah pack, 'twas the males that ruled, an' strongly too." She cast about for the right words to express what she'd seen and felt and experienced. "When Ah was an adolescent, Ah was 'betrothed' tae a male thrice mah age. An' he'd the reputation for leaving his mates bloody."
She paused, remembering those days. When she next spoke, it was a whisper. "'Twas even said that his first mate wasna sick, the way he said." It had been only a rumor, hissed from female to female, for no male would believe such an ill of their own sex.
"Ah couldna - wouldna! - be the next. Baht Ah didna have a choice. Mah brother...he wanted the alliance," she left out some of the details. Well, a lot. No one needed to know about what her brother had done to her, no one at all.
"Ah refused. An' when the chance came to run for it, Ah took it. Never looked back."

"Praemonevi." She said the name, it was a mouthful. But she thought it was unique. She had met a lot of Raja and Kivuli around in this part of the world. Grinning a little she listened to the female speak about her own self.
It was the first time another would share their story so easily. Everyone here seemed to have a grudge up their back or a spine in their rump. "It's a lot better that you got out of that.." She shuddered. Her father would say something along the lines of. "Love is something more then just betrothal. I do hope you find it someday in your adventures." She piped up a little. "If you ever need a friend I am around.." She whispered the last part and tilted her head.
Though the happenings in packs were different. Prema felt a connection with the female. They were both run aways.

The tan and red wild dog was a bit stunned by how simply Prema accepted her tale, the tale she'd never given voice to before for any reason. It...made her feel better. As if there wasn't anything at all wrong with wanting a life different from what she'd known growing up. It made her feel hopeful.
"Ah...appreciate that," she said at last. "Never had a friend before." It was a good thing to have though, and she heartily appreciated the purple female's words.

"Nor have I! Well I did once, but for a while I didn't! But now! We've got eachother as friends!" She nodded happily and smiled. "I'm going to go patrol the North a little. Not where I come from but.. Maybe for a place to den.. My fur is thick and the heat down here is to much at times.. Maybe we could meet back here someday though?" She hummed a little as she got up. Nosing Prae just a little. Giving her a friendly touch to the cheek.
