OFELIA WAS BORED. Bored enough that she felt the need to emphasis it by just...pacing around the commons area of the dorms, and then running up and down the hall. She'd been out on a mission, that had been fun, and she'd even had her a** handed to her during a battle one....yes, just once. But why was it she had this itching, burning desire?

It's called the Clap.

"AH DO NOT HAVE THE CLAP!" Probably not the best thing in the world to be yelling in the middle of the commons while people were passing through but Ofelia was just....wanting to do something. "Ugh. Can't Ah like....go explore an' loot stuff? Ah wanna go on an adventure."

Visiting the town with Eva had been fun, why didn't she just go back there? ...actually what was stopping her from doing it right now? NOTHING, THAT'S WHAT.

"Ah'm gonna go an' raid the town an' nothin' is gonna stand in mah way." Except maybe not remembering where the town was or really knowing what a raid was. Hmmmmm.

Apparently the cafeteria had unlimited baloney. Piles and piles and piles of baloney. Justin had helped himself to a generous portion - he had always wanted to try and make a one foot baloney sandwich - and was currently in the process of attempting to take a bite of it when-

- He stopped, literally visibly perking up as he heard the word raid. And that was how Ophelia pretty much ended up with a Mist trainee practically superimposed next to her, still holding a one foot baloney sandwich, the mayo dripping all over the floor.

"Did I hear raiding or did I hear raiding?" Thankfully, he finally set the sandwich down on the floor, giving Ophelia a small bow. "And what can this humble traveler do to join your merry band?"

Yes, his roleplaying mode was on.

"Er...Ah take it yer sayin' ya wanna come wit' me, right?" Ofelia looked over at the boy who was eating something huge and getting it everywhere. Last time she met him he was eating too, right? Did he have a fetish for food? Well, not that Ofelia could fault him at all for liking food - food was good! It was the first thing she'd actually sought out here when she was more than aware of anything, so. . . yeah, no. She liked food too.

Also who was this kid? He....oh yeah, Justin right? If she was correct then he was the one who thought everything was a game, one of those table top or board things right? If so then it would be best to put herself into the mindframe of it and play along. Rue did not approve.

"Mah good sir, Ah am indeed lookin' fer a group ta help me take on the dangers of....uh....Abandia. That burned down town outside'a this hamlet." She pointed off into the distance, her hand motioning at the direction she thought the town might be in. Adventures also involved her trying to find s**t, right?

Don't use words if you don't know their meaning.

Shuffit. Ofelia cleared her mind, moving along. "Ah'm lookin' for either heals or tank, ya do either? Ah'm DPS."

Justin inhaled very very deeply, turning a nice shade of red. For a second, it looked like he was about to burst - which he almost did from excitement - until he finally exhaled and-

"Fearnotbravelady, IwillofcoursejoinyouinyourmissionandepicquitetotakeonthesedangerousforthereisnothingIcannotaccomplish," a thankful pause as the words finally slowed down, "And I happen to be a tank, a paladin tank, with with the highest tier gear there is in these lands and of course a legendary weapon."

He was shaking with excitement. An honest to god storyline quest? He was going to enjoy every moment of it. Every moment. "Now, lead me on towards Abandia, we have loot to farm and of course, people to save!"

Uh....what exactly was a paladin? Ofelia knew the basics but when it got into the whole class thing, like specific things, she was at a loss. Perhaps if there was a way for her to get in touch with her brother she'd be able to say something but, alas, there were no phones on the Island and Ofelia was rather technically dumb when it came to even using the cellphone. Maybe later, after this 'raid' thing she could ask him what he meant and try to play it off. If only she could actually be that coy in real life.

"Well, okay then. Um...Ah' not certain what we're gonna find there so we best be on our tens an' twos ta keep a watchful eye. Could be mobs, could jus' be random....villagers who somehow decided ta live in the place again." Ouch, that sounded bad even to her ears, and she winced and hoped Justin didn't notice. He'd seemed to excited before to probably even properly listen to her. "But whatever lot we find, ya can keep most'a it. Ah dun really go on raids for the profits, mostly for the braggin' rights if ya get mah meanin'."

Also Ofelia wasn't even sure there would be anything out there for them to find. Last she recalled there had been some places she and Eva hadn't checked out but that was all. She didn't like making promises she couldn't keep.

It was a good thing Ofelia had no clue where to go because apparently, Justin did. A few moments later, after the debrief about the mobs and random villagers, the two of them were standing right in front of the Deus Ex main gates.

"I got this okay, mobs, okay, so first part is a gauntlet run where we gotta avoid the mobs." Justin rubbed both this hands together. "So here's the strategy, I'll run in and tank all the things we attract and you dps and destroy them okay. And then we'll share the loot equally and stuff, we should probably rest up before entering the raid portal." Here, he pointed at the door. "You got any pots with you?"

Belatedly, he realized he forgot his sandwich at the door and mentally groaned. Hopefully it wouldn't dissipate by the time he got back.

"...Uh, yeah sure. Ah got pots." What the ******** were pots and why did she need one of them? At the very least Justin seemed super excited to get things going and Ofelia figured he'd keep everything from being boring - even though she knew that they would find nothing in the town. Already, as they started to walk, she was coming up with excuses for why the place was empty.

Excuse #1: Someone had just cleared the raid ahead of them.
Excuse #2: See #1
Excuse #3: She hadn't thought this far ahead.

Thankfully her companion didn't seem too bright on the uptake around the area and she might just be able to pull it off without a hitch. Suggesting that someone else had already come through could explain why they don't find anything either, since monsters usually dropped the loot right? Ofelia was freakin' proud of herself.

"Head on in, Ah'll be right b'hind ya."

As Ophelia had deduced from her deductions, the abandoned town a little walk outside the main Deus Ex Machina headquarters was really called an abandoned town for a reason. A low fog hovered just at the outskirts of the really abandoned town, there were a couple of houses that might have made better stunt background props for some B-rated Hollywood horror movie, but there was a distinct void of anything moving other than the two trainees.

Justin looked around suspiciously. It was quiet. Too quiet. In fact it was so quiet, it felt like someone had cleared the raid ahead of them. No no wait, that was what the game wanted them to think clearly. "Okay, this is going to sound really really crazy, noble warrior, but I believe, Abandia is abandoned. Which means we need to discover the secret portal hidden somewhere else."

From the abandoned down, the path split into four sections, one of them of course leading back to the Deus main gates, the second that went directly to the Lighthouse outpost, and then a third that went to the beach and Weapons Initiation cove. Justin, used all the powers of his adventurer's wit and wisdom and chose option number four: the giant jungle that loomed a reasonable distance away in the inevitable distance. "This way it is! Onwards, may our quest bring to light the true intentions of this cursed town!" He was in full 'roleplay' mode now and there was no stopping him.

Okay thank God he was enough of an idiot to think everything was okay. Ofelia placed a hand on her chest and sighed, a deep thankful sigh of relief, and she was about to say something when Justin started rambling again and...well, took off towards what looked like a jungle in the distance. Ofelia had been in the city before with Eva and had found it plenty fun but other parts of the island she hadn't even thought about exploring just yet. Naturally her inner desire for all kinds of adventure times was outweighing the thought she wasn't wearing proper shoes and probably was going to stub her toe, and Ofelia placed a hand on her chin as she started off after Justin. She really, really had to think of a reason for why this place was like it and he was going on ahead and well okay.

Also, it seemed that Justin was TAKING THIS s**t SERIOUSLY so she needed to take it seriously too and well that was awesome okay. Ofelia liked adventures and if LARPing during an adventure was going to happen then dammit she was going to LARP too. Part of her always wanted to LARP anyway since she got to punch other people and act like a different person and not give a s**t who noticed. "Yer right fellow adventurer, we must uh, make haste! hopefully they didn' get all the spoils an' stuff bef're we have a chance ta try an' get it." Okay that made zero sense, even to her, but whatever. "Maybe if we overtake them in the jungle we can...force 'em ta surrender, whoever took all the loot that is. Maybe even become heroes?"

Speaking of heroes, a sandwich was sounding good, why didn't she eat before all of this.
