I don't know anything about Fleetway Sonic himself, so it's hard to say whether I like him as a character. The only interpretations I have seen and read of Fleetway Sonic is through fanart - which frankly is not a good way to understand a character, especially since a fandom can really twist the way a canon character actually appears and acts. Most of the fanart I've stumbled across has him drenched in blood or doing something deranged or 'demonic', which honestly looks dumb to me since, well, he's a hedgehog and that I can't take Grimdark!Sonic subject matter seriously.
Design wise, I don't like seeing Fleetway Sonic 'modernized' with present day Sonic's anatomy. I like the pudgy, rounder (I believe original?) version of Fleetway since he looks hilarious and strangely adorable with being so short and having those swirly eyes. XD
