Mission Rewards:
Shinobi who complete Missions are rewarded with a currency called MP, or Mission Points. Currently, the main use of MP is for ranking up, or more specifically, making an RPC eligible to achieve a higher rank. For each mission you successfully complete, you are awarded a certain amount of MP, dependant on the rank of the mission run, which can be seen below:
E-rank Missions = 1 MP
D-rank Missions = 2 MP
C-rank Missions = 4 MP
B-rank Missions = 8 MP
A-rank Missions = 16 MP
S-rank Missions = 40 MP
Mission Requirements:
Missions are listed within the different villages in a variety of ways, each village having it's own thread for the subject. In order to take a mission without prior approval from the Kage, you must meet the requirements laid out below. Generally, it stops any shinobi from simply taking any mission that is 2 ranks above them. However, a Kage can grant special dispensation for shinobi of lower rank to take higher level missions then normal. This permission however has to come directly from the Kage on a scroll marked with their signature and their official seal of approval. (The noted exceptions are A-rank and S-rank missions, which all require a Kage's permission to undertake. Some B-rank missions may also require a Kage's permission as well, but those missions will have such requirements listed within the description)
E-rank Missions
Anyone may undertake an E-rank mission at any time.
D-rank Missions
Anyone may undertake a D-rank mission at any time, however if this mission involves leaving the village, any shinobi below Chuunin rank is required to have a higher ranked shinobi accompany them on the mission.
C-rank Missions
To undertake a C-rank mission, Genin must have a group of at least two, and one shinobi of higher rank. Chuunin and up can undertake C rank missions alone.
B-rank Missions
To undertake a B-rank mission, Chuunin must have a group of at least two shinobi (both of which are Chuunin rank or higher). Special Jounin and up may undertake B rank missions alone.
A-rank Missions
To undertake an A-rank mission, Special Jounin must have at least a group of two shinobi (both of which are Sp. Jounin rank or higher). Jounin may undertake A rank missions alone. All instances however still require a Kage's approval.
S-rank Missions
S - Only jounin and up may undertake S rank missions. Further requirements are at the discretion of the village Kage.
Mission Risk:
All missions naturally carry some level of risk. This listing will help those creating missions, or taking missions understand what the potential risks of a mission of any particular rank might be.
E-rank Missions
Little to no danger. Usually a simple errand within the village.
D-rank Missions
Slight chance of danger if conducted outside the village walls.
C-rank Missions
Carries the possibility of serious danger, or places the party in risk of bandit attacks. Usually simple missions outside the village, such as transport of documents, or simple escort missions.
B-rank Missions
Medium-High likelihood of enemy ninja presence. These missions will generally be the same as C ranks, but with ninjas instead of bandits, and can branch into gathering information on foreign villages, or espionage.
A-rank Missions
Definite chance of critical danger. Enemy ninja presence almost certain. These missions will usually include tracking and fighting enemy ninja, and may include high level espionage involving destroying enemy targets, or even assassinations.
S-rank Missions
Definite chance of mortal danger. These missions will likely include fighting high-ranking enemy ninja, or facing opponents in large numbers, such as taking part in a battle, or war. Missions could include espionage into enemy villages at the highest levels of operation, or assassination of high profile targets. Tracking down or attempting to capture/battle immensely powerful forces, such as Jinchuuriki can also count as S-ranked missions.
Alternative Missions
Some acts, not normally classified as missions, may give you MP based on certain criteria.
- Defeating an enemy shinobi will grant you credit for a mission in equal rank to the ninja defeated. This must of course be an enemy of the village, who is working to do it harm, or is on a mission of espionage or assassination... not just a random attack from either party.
- Circumstances can be PM'd to the Captain if you believe your actions are worthy of Mission Points. His decision however, is final.
Teaching Credit
Teaching students different techniques (Whether it be Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Taijutsu, or Kenjutsu) also gives you mission points, however it does not count as a ranked mission. Teaching multiple people the same technique at the same time, does not count as multiple jutsu taught. Likewise, teaching the same technique to multiple students over the course of a day, also will not count. The exception is that if you teach three or more ninja in one session to all use three techniques, then the MP value of those three techniques doubles.
Credits received per Jutsu taught:
E-rank jutsu --> 1 MP
D-rank jutsu --> 2 MP
C-rank jutsu --> 3 MP
B-rank jutsu --> 4 MP
A-rank jutsu --> 5 MP
S-rank jutsu --> 10 MP
Chuunin Rank-Up Requirements
1. At least 1 C-rank must be completed.
2. At least 5 D-ranks must be completed.
3. You must also earn at least four Mission Points over the value the required jutsu above would give you, meaning you should have a grand total of at least eighteen Mission Points and have met the mission rank requirements if you want to be eligible to take part in the Chuunin exams.
The requirements for the other ranks will be revealed in the future.
