Time for a new area to stalk in order to gather energy, he'd been hitting the same area too often as of late. The park was not a place he wanted to hit too many times in a short period of time, and he knew senshi liked to hang out there. Tonight when he went out, glad it wasn't snowing at present, he headed for an area he'd only been to once before. Not far from the city library, only a few blocks away, Benitoite got to work on gathering energy.

It didn't take long before he'd found someone, the first person in what he hoped would be a long chain of found someones. From them he took what he needed, leaving them in an alley way as he continued on his way, hands in his pockets as he moved. Alert as he glanced around, looking and listening for any people who might be in the area. He didn't worry about senshi or knights, if any turned up in the area he'd sense them.

Still bruised, and sore, he smelled lightly of the salve's he'd been using to aid in healing the bruises faster. Thankfully he hadn't needed stitches, he didn't enjoy those, and his ankle wasn't as sore as it had been right after that fight with the page. He had to admit, she had talent. Lips twitched into something of an amused smile as he thought about that knight, and the fight. She'd really thought she could just order him around, how presumptuous. Perhaps next time she met someone on the other side of the war she wouldn't be so bold as to give orders. That smile twisted into a smirk as his arms left his coat pockets and moved to cross his chest, a slight tilting of his head, as he thought of that knight and the lesson she had perhaps though not likely learned.

Patrolling near the library would prove to be a mistake for Benitoite tonight.

The Squire of Earth was more than a little angry. More than a little vexed. More than a little conflicted. He preached more often than he could remember how vain revenge could be. How useless it was. Revenge just begged more revenge, and the cycle of war was renewed despite how old it was. New reasons to keep fighting were created from nothing, wounds opened and cruelly treated for no purpose. Dogs of war chasing their own tails, as much as each others.

He did not believe in revenge.

Many times he was told that saying something was easy. He spoke well but where were the actions? He tried to live to what he spoke, but the moment he saw Benitoite and it clicked in his mind that this was the negaverse agent who had hurt Shalott so badly.

Camelot didn't even think. He leaped from the roof of the library and landed heavily on the snow covered pavement in front of the Captain. He knew they had met before, they had even gotten along, but trusting someone that was driven by Chaos over natural instincts and morals was a dangerous and near impossible task. He tried to trust them, he saw good in some of them, but at the moment he had strong evidence that, at least with Benitoite, he had been wrong.

He didn't say anything, standing tall and holding his shield at his side, not up defensively. His body was tense, his expression dark. This was not a happy knight.

He'd felt the Knight, let them come his way. He had nothing to fear, at least in his mind. Thus far he'd seen them as weak and with useless to near useless items. Even the one the other night, while she could fight, he hadn't seen a weapon or felt at a disadvantage. It wasn't with fear that he looked the Knight over, even noting their dark look. Perhaps he was a bit too confident? Or underestimated the Knights too much? Either way he should have perhaps worried, but not with a Knight and not with this one.

"Another meeting between us it seems is in order." This time he wasn't a Lieutenant but a Captain, and he had more power. He'd been corrupted more, his thoughts and morals having changed as he'd grown. He didn't think of it was twisting or being under some influence. He'd changed as was needed, as he'd seen and experienced more.

"Have you come to make sure I'm being good?" He asked, standing calmly in front of the Knight. Clueless to the fact he'd beaten on the man's friend, and significant other. Had he known he might have felt something negative when looking at the man's expression. Without that knowledge the look was ignored, passed over.

"I know for a fact that you're not. I've come to make sure you stop."

He spoke slowly, but he wasn't thinking about his words. They came on instinct, instincts he had not used since he was a young, rough and tumble kid with nothing to lose. A kid who knew what he expected of the world, and would fight to get it. Who would fight to protect what little he had, and would feel no pity for the people he hurt.

Instincts Camelot turned elsewhere. But now? Now he let them overwhelm him. He thrived on the feeling of strength that coursed through him, fueled entirely by his anger.

"You made a mistake, attacking my companion. Attacking any knight. Any senshi. Is a mistake. One you need to be corrected for."

This was not Camelot. This was someone else, some angry, dark creature who found revenge a viable option. And found himself the strength to carry it out. This was a man who was confident and dangerous: it was not the Knight of Earth that spoke for peace and begged for understanding. It was not the knight that strove to talk, and would rather bow his head than lift his shield.

Whoever he was, he was not there to talk, to negotiate, or to understand. He was there to hurt. As if that would fix the pain Shalott, Kyndall, had suffered.

"Oh, do you now? How interesting, and rather assuming." Tilting his head as he spoke, a tinge of amusement shining his slate colored eyes.

Benitoite as a civilian was no rough and tumble sort, it wasn't in him to be such. It simply wasn't the way he was raised or the life he lived and the circle of society he grew up in. He was one of those pampered teenagers who didn't get dirty unless he wanted to, and he often did.

"I made a mistake, really? Did you forget this is war? Because unfortunately war isn't fought with gently, coddling, words. Or have you forgotten?" He asked, smirk forming as he questioned the other, belittling. He was snobbish and blunt and it was no different from how he could be as a civilian.

"I take it you plan to defend her honor?" He questioned, already figuring this was the case. The dots connected in his mind and giving him an answer to what this run in was all about. "Will you defend the honor of those I've injured, those I've killed?" He questioned, the last word coming easier then it had the past few times he'd spoken it. It seemed each time he spoke of his acts it came easier and easier to him. Maybe he'd seen tell Painite, let her know he had taken starseeds and claimed lives.

"You won't be killing anyone. Not any more."

Camelot watched the Nega with a burned hatred forming in his gut. This young man had hurt someone very important to Camelot. But what did it matter? He had hurt others, as well, others that Camelot didn't know. Did that make it so different? Was it so important to simply know someone, to care about them, and that made their life weigh so much more in the scale of things?

The Squire of Earth didn't care.

"Say good night, Negaverse dog."

He growled and charged. He held up his shield, pulling it back before swinging it and most of his upper body, hard. He snapped his arm across, the large shield swinging with the speed and momentum of the full body move.

This was not a time to hold back. This was the chance for him to put everything he had into this fight, to fight at his full strength, whatever that was. He didn't know how strong he had become, never giving himself to a battle as fully as he was now. He always held back, never wanted to cause harm. But now?

Now he wanted to.

No, he wouldn't be. He didn't want to be. He didn't say this though as he kept his eyes focused on the Knight. He even summoned his own weapon, he had a feeling he was going to need it against this Knight.

The brushes weight felt comfortable in his gloved hands. Large and a little top heavy he was used to it, comforted by the large object he now held firmly. For a moment he considered saying good night, just to further annoy the other further but he didn't; he didn't have the time and didn't want break concentration.

It was a good thing he didn't break his concentration in order to speak, to antagonize. His weapon came up to block as much as he could. As it was the man was larger and was throwing his weight, and larger body, around and the smaller male landed on the ground hard. His weapon left on the ground as he rolled backward and up onto his feet. That shield was not very kind, not just some decorative piece of junk to heft about. His lip was, for the second time this week, split and blood dribbled from his lip and down his chin. His cheek was sore and hurting, he'd turned his head as he saw the shield coming his way in order to protect his nose and eyes the best he could.

Using the tip of his right boot he slipped it under his brush and kicked the weapon up and into a waiting hand. Narrowed slate eyes turned on the Knight before he launched himself at him, brush raised before he brought it down to strike.

The armored knight was on the offense. It was new for him, and he was not used to fighting this way. He was usually defending, protecting people. He fought youma, sure, but it was never like this.

But then, nothing about tonight was normal.

He might as well have been someone else. Living outside his body, he watched as he pulled his arm up and all but risked it being shattered as he blocked the giant paintbrush. He held the shield along the length of his arm, like an extension rather than in the usual way. Usually it stood straight when he held his arm across himself, so he could hide himself or someone else behind it. Now its length followed his arm, and he swung it more like a very broad sword that was attached to him.

Except while he was blocking the paintbrush he couldn't swing. He stabbed the blunt, metal rimmed shield forward, the base of it aiming for Benitoite's gut. He was fast and brutal, and not taking any chances. His one goal was to cause damage.

At least they had the same goals, and the same way to go about fulfilling those goals. While both wanted peace they weren't going about it the same way, he had chosen chaos as his way to attain peace for everyone while the other...well he chose something.

With his brush busy, pressed to the others shield and him pressing his weight into it in hopes of the other removing the shield from his brushes path. Benitoite was preoccupied but still noticed when the shield moved and without thinking his instinct took over and he stepped back several paced. His brush brought in close he changed his hold. Both hands wrapped about the brush end of the paintbrush, pointed end facing the knight, he jabbed it forward fast and sharp.

This would not be an easy fight, nor an easy win. He didn't allow himself a moment to even ponder failure, he couldn't afford that luxury.

Camelot was not in the mood to lose. He was not in the mood to let another Negaverse agent off the hook. his understanding only reached so far, but now that it was too personal, too close, he was unable to think with his intended pacifism. Yes, he wanted peace, and yes it was a slap in the face to that goal and everything he ever said to fight like this now.

But he did not care about that.

All he cared about was how Kyndall had come crying to him, her face bleeding, curling against him for comfort and out of need. She had been broken and shaken, and it was not just her physical wounds that bothered her. This Nega had betrayed her, if he knew it or not, Camelot wasn't clear on that part. It didn't matter either.

All that mattered was this moment. Camelot was here to defend the honor of someone he deeply cared about.

"Terra Viridis Crystal Power!" He bellowed, his tone unfamiliar even to his ears. It was edged with intention: the will to cause pain. The will to win this fight. His crystal trembled in response to it and a bright light burst from his shield. It slammed into Benitoite with some force, enough to knock him away from Camelot. The beam of light also caused terrible pain, however fleeting it was. It left no injury, but it certainly was a painful blow.

If it weren't for the pain, or stumbling and catching a heel, he might have stayed on his feet. As it was however that wasn't the case, as both things did in fact happen. Landing several feet back and on his a**, the memory of the short lived pain still set in his mind and his body, his tail bone shooting pain up his spine as he'd landed wrong and rather hard.

Biting his lip to keep from cursing aloud, it was bad enough he'd cried out from the pain that shield brought him. What the hell was that? Knights had never seemed to posses anything but little items and no power, and now this. This information would go into his notebook tonight, while he was resting in bed.

Slowly, gingerly, he picked himself up. His brush was somewhere, he'd look for it once back on his feet properly. "So you do have some magic to you, how interesting." Had the darkness, the chaos, twisted and changed him and he hadn't noticed it fully? He didn't think so, while other in front of him might think so considering he hadn't been like this when they'd last met.

St his feet, and legs, steadied under him his gaze turned in search of his brush which once found he walked over to. Again his leg went under it and kicked it up into waiting hands. Giving it a spin he turned his attention back on the Knight. A few slow steps were taken before he rushed the other and this time the large paintbrush was swung like a bat, the brush head facing the other. Using his own weight to counter.

"You know, it's pathetic that your companion can't deal with me on her own. That you need to come for me rather than her. Do not think her able enough?"
PostPosted: Sun Feb 05, 2012 11:39 am

Camelot followed after the falling Nega, not wanting to let up too much in his pursuit. There was a screaming light in the back of his head, doing everything in its ethereal power to call his attention and get him to stop. But no, his conscience was being ignored tonight, that much was very clear.

He didn't bother explaining what his Crystal was, or where its power was derived. Not that he knew the specifics, and he doubted it had been the squirrel which had borne it.

He watched Benitoite with a slow, dark anger burning in him. He felt like he could see every move the Nega was making before he made it. His shield arm raised and he moved to block the swing of the bat with his heavy, though still breakable, shield. He was putting it through the wringer today.

But he had a mission here.

"I'm not here because she asked me to. She doesn't want this," he hesitated for a moment, but his resolve had long ago steeled. "But I do. You've made an enemy out of me, and that's a very difficult thing for people to do." Well, for him to return the sentiment at least. He was oddly good at making people hate him when he was just trying to be civil.

He lunged as well, hoping to meet the Captain despite their shield and brush clashing, swinging his fist for Beni's face.

Ahh, so at least that female Knight hadn't asked someone else to finish a fight for her, that would have been pathetic. At least it was something a little more...noble. Actually, truth be told he might do something like this also if the roles were reversed. Though he didn't like to admit it he knew he might do worse, at least if his loved one were really hurt.

Watching the Knight's approach he took a slow step back, he wasn't expecting the other to lunge at him. His brush came up to block the shield, though it did nothing for the fist which came crashing into his face. While he should take a step back, or several steps, and he wanted to since his nose felt like it might be bleeding he didn't move away from the other. He knew this was not a simple, nor easy, fight like the other one. This one may not even end in a victory for himself, not an idea to entertain at the moment, it was an idea creeping about in the back of his mind.

Bringing a leg up between their forms he used his leg to add distance as he pushed against the other till he could press his booted foot against the shield and kick. And yup, his nose was bleeding, how nice. Snorting the blood, and whatever else was dripping from his nose, up he found it going down the back of his throat and he spit it out.

"How nice to know, I've made an enemy. Shall I assume we'll have more of these...play dates?" The words might be a little garbled but it wasn't too hard to make out what he was saying, blood being snorted up ones nose tended to do that.

Camelot was ready to follow through with his attack, by any means necessary. He saw his opponent get ready to kick him away. Camelot moved with the momentum, sliding back and holding his shield up in front of him. He peered from behind it with angry, almost dangerous eyes.

The warm green color did nothing to soften the look.

"It depends on how well you do here," he said meaningfully, switching his footing and charging forward again. It was strange to be so forceful in his attacks, but he found the movements came to him without much thought. Instinct. Maybe it was from watching so many people fighting, absorbing their styles, or simply his own naturally imbued in his muscles.

Whatever the case, he moved with confidence, and without hesitation.

Dropping low, he brought his shield up not to defend, but to drive the edge of the shield into the other's gut. He was putting all his power into the blow, and the shield cracked and buckled as it slammed into its target with crushing force. He heard crunching, and it occurred to him that he was not sure if it was the shield or the Nega's bones.

And it also occurred to him that he didn't care.

He would have responded if not for the on coming attack. Bracing himself, expecting it head on and level, his brush up to block. He wasn't expecting the Knight to drop down and thrust the shield up and into him.

Air left his lungs quickly and he felt a sudden give and heard a cracking. Pain exploded in his mid section, eyes welled with tears from the pain. His lip bitten to stifle the sound which desperately wanted to escape. The cry of pain wasn't the only thing which wanted to escape from him, his stomach churned and he felt ill. It was an unusual set of feelings, ones he'd never felt combined like this. He'd never broken bones, and looking down at the Knight he didn't move as he tried to get air into his lungs. It hurt to breath and he didn't need to vomit here and now.

Breathing as slow and gently as he could, working to keep himself from being ill he stepped back, slowly. Blinking the tears away he turned narrowed eyes on the Knight. Anger, and pain, danced in the slate depths. He'd been pierced with glass but he'd not suffered broken bones till now. Biting his lip his brush, which had dropped to the ground when he'd been struck, vanished as his communications crystal came out. With one arm protectively wrapped about his mid section he held the crystal with the other to his mouth.

Slate eyes didn't leave the Knight, he didn't trust him especially since he was in a vulnerable position right now. "General Painite." He called, hoping she was out tonight and powered up. "I could use your assistance. I'm in a battle with a Knight and believe I could use medical attention." He wasn't sure if he'd broke anything, but he had the feeling he had. All he knew was he needed her, she could help him and get him to a hospital. She'd done it before for him, he trusted her.

Then his attention, and voice, were on the Knight. "You may want to run. I don't think my General will let you live should she arrive before you've left." His voice broke as he took too deep a breath, hissing in pain as he curled in; seeming smaller than he actually was.
