It was dusk when Bumble followed a well-known path to him through Kells Run. It was a visible dirt trail, though obscured by tall bushes overshadowing it, which created a sort of canopy over where he was stepping lightly. He was in no rush. The brute walked slowly and let his ears spin where they pleased if they heard a sound nearby. Bumble's black nose smelled nearly everything that wafted through the air around him. The embankment smelled strongly of dirt and faintly of other wolves that had been around the area, but for right now, he knew he was alone. As he came to a rest at the edge of the water, he watched the sunset for a few moments as the water lapped up at him. It was as if it was hungry for his massive paws to step into its tiny, bitterly cold ripples of waves.

The sun casted an imitation on the water’s surface, though distorted and always moving slightly. It was darker in the water than it was in the sun. Bumble heaved out a sigh, boredom filling his entire being. What was there to do when he was on his own? He had never been one to become lonely easily, but there he was. Lonely and alone. He sat on his haunches near the water, eyes blinking away the bright light that shone down into them. Would anyone else be by the water? Would he be privileged enough to wander upon a kind wolf? Or would his night be ruined by someone that wished to fight? He curled his tails over his paws and shut his eyes for a moment - ever so regal and stoic.

The female that did chance upon him had no desire to fight, not in the slightest, but at the same time, she was never in any mood for company. Catfish had emerged from the trees at the other side of the river. This was a familiar area to her; her favourite fishing spot as well as being a pleasant area to spend the day. Now she stopped, hesitating on the bank and watching the large form of the male across from her. Eventually decided the distance between them was suitable and she stepped into the water, relishing the feel of it washing across her paws, and dipped her head to drink. Her yellow gaze kept flicking up, keeping on eye on him just in case.
