Heze wasn't sure what to do with herself, she had not been able to spend time with Crown ot her dad or grandfather, they were all busy. So she had taken herself away from prying eyes to practice. But now she was alone she found hersef pretending she was a fearless protector already. She knew she wasn't close to that yet but it didn't stop her letting out a cry and bounding along as though in persuit of some fearsome skinwalker.

Ryuu Zu sat with his eyes closed meditating, he was in a forest he hadn't visited in a while, if at all, he was still rather new to these lands. He cleared his mind, focusing on the sounds of the world around him. Birds chirped. A river seemed to trickle not far from him, the trees rustled with a breeze. He even heard the scurrying of small woodland animals. Nothing seemed out of place... at least that was until he heard a war cry. His eyes snapped open, breaking his concentration as his self-presevation kicked in, his head snapping in the direction of the sound just as a young angeni filly came charging towards him. His eyes saw he was heading straight for her, so with a practised graze he bounced to his hooves and jumped backwards so that they would not collide.
Ryuu didn't say a word. Simply observed.

Heze saw the stallion she was about to run into to late, but she scrunched up as small as possible and skidded, trying to stop. Only his fast reflexes saved him. As it was she skidded to a stop under him. Wrapped in her wings, balanced on her hooves but curled up small, she peeked, opening one eye when no impact came. Both eyes opening and blinking as she looked round at the legs around her.

Ryuu looked down at the creature small enough to sit below him, even if she was all curled up, being very careful - especially of her wings, since he didn't wish to bring her any harm- he stepped over her until she was completely free. With a gentle smile that spoke of nothing but kindess he said, "Are you ok little filly?" Ryuu didn't talk much, was known for sitting silent for months, but even he showed concern at something as precious as a foal possibily being injuried. He had no foals of his own, but part of him longed to one day change that.

Heze blinked up at the stallion, seeing she wasn't under him any more she unfolded her wings one at a time and stood up on slightly shaky legs, not used to being in the position she had gotten herself into. Folding her wings once she was stood she smiled at the strainger, before circling him once and shaking her head. "Nope you look ok, no wings, or horns or fangs or paws!" Grinning seeming pleased to have identified him as not evil she straightend proudly. "My name is Heze of the Madoka herd. Its very nice to meet you!" Her tone not so proud, just excited child. Her pose not lasting as she looks around, spining in a circle as she does and grinning at him again.

Despite himself he actually found a small smile gracing his lips as she cicled him identifying the features he didn't have... was she trying to rule him out from being an evil soquili? Or just noting that he had none of the features that she had? He wondered.... had she been taught to identify like that? It didn't seem enough to Ryuu, after all, he had seen soquili of his own regular breed cause harm and destroy just for fun. Sometimes it was the mind that was twisted rather than the breed that bore it. Still he would not shatter her illusion today.
Instead, as she proudly presented him with her name he simply said, "There is power in a name. You may call me Zu." Ryuu rarely gave out his full name, believing that those who held it held power over him. The spirit that he believed resided within him seemed to stirr with interest at the young filly.

Peering up at him smiling, young enough and rarely left unattended like this there had been no need to teach her about the subtleties of what was and was not evil. Sitting on her rump as she regards him seriously. "Your not from my herd are you.... Are you a travler?" Jumping up as she asks seeming excited by the idea of meeting a strainger. Dagerous though it was the herd were so protective of their foals that this was something rare and new. Grinning at him her headwings and rump wigglign and sweying in time with some unherd tune.

Ryuu Zu peered down at the little creature and smiled softly before lowerig himself to the ground. Despite his size and gender his movements were rather elegant looking. Each one made on purpose. He closed his eyes for a moment and just listened to the harmony of the world before saying, "the wind carried me here." Although it went against his usual silent mood he could tell that the filly was used to conversation, that she learnt and understood the world by what she was told... and Ryuu Zu wanted to help her... leave something of himself with her. Even if it was just a small sliver.
Opening his eyes he looked at her, "Dragons." He smiled, "Come in many forms." His name was dragon, and he and his people believed that a spirit of a dragon was captured in his body; a prophercy made before his birth. That very dragon stared out of his heart at this young creature, it meant her no harm, was merely as curious as she seemed to be of him.

That made her jaw drop and her eyes go very wide. Before her tone got excited and therefore a little more high pitched. "REALLY!!??? Your a Dragon Zu? Really Really?? WOW!" Looking him over again as she scampers round him on her small hooves before looking at him again in the face. "You dun look like a dragon...." Thinking a minute as she stands in front of him, looking at him again. ".... What's a dragon?!" Her tone a little sheepish, realising the absurdity of her earlier statement but she didn't let it phaze her in the least, she carried on charging straight ahead to the next point in her mind, not sweating over the mistakes she made.

Ryuu flinched at the high pitched noise that assaulted his ears, she was easily excited... he would have to remember that. Yet as she continued to get excited and then ask... 'what is a dragon' he couldn't resist or stop the chuckle that erupted from him, it had been a long time since he had laughed, usually he spent his time keeping calm... for when he got angry he could feel the dragon coming to the surface, and deversation was usually left in it's wake. That was why he wandered now.... away from those he loved. "A dragon...." he turned to show her his rump and the tatoo that marked him as a carrier, "Fire or water breathers. Impossible strength. Deadly predators and fierce protectors." He didn't want to scare her so left it simple.

She gazed at the image on his rump as she listened and prosessed this information. Her eats twitching at the word protectors. An image of Drashi popping into her mind, not sure why but eager to tell him she met a dragon. Her expression looking grumpy as she imagines the all to serious soquili tellin her to not be so childish ot something. Sitting on her rump in front of Zu. "I wanna be a protector..." Shuffling her small front hooves in the dirt.

Ryuu smiled at that and nodded his acknowlegdement, "A noble role if you have a good cause." He knew from her earlier words that she was part of a herd, so perhaps that meant she wanted to protect them.... for one so young and free spirited wanting such a thing he suspected that the herd didn't know much in the way of danger, and Ryuu hoped it remained that way.
Ryuu wasn't going to say 'you can do it', for he didn't know that for sure. Perhaps her herd wouldn't let her, or maybe she would die before achieving it.... either way, things happened and Ryuu didn't want to curse the future by saying anything. As he moved back into his original position the muscles of his rump made the tattoo move as if it was a living dragon captured in his very skin.

Smiling at him, banishing thoughts of grumpy Drashi and totally changing the subject. "Do you have a herd? Ooooh a dragon herd!" That sounded exciting, tilting her head. "It would be easier being a ragon if you could fly though." Looking round at her small wings, flying being something she was still learning.

He listened to her, but would tell her nothing of his family or herd, it was too personal and he would never risk them by giving away information... even to a harmless Angeni foal. And so he distracted her by saying; "Who said I can not fly?" He closed his eyes for a moment, took a deep breath and listened to the world around him... the wind was about to pick up, he could hear the faint tones that indiciated this as it stormed towards them through the trees. A moment later his hair was picked up and danced around him. He opened his eyes again, "My soul sores high."
