Like the title says, this is a second OOC topic for whoever isn't roleplaying atm and would like to have a general discussion with other members.
Please post here/either on 'why humans are stupid' or create a topic of your own. The subtopic will be used for anything that's not RP related,so we'd keep everything in well order.
Main forum is just for RP or posting announcements for teams etc. Once the announcement is over, the team is completed etc,the topic will be deleted to make space for the RP zone.
Announcements in the subforum are permanent, unless the owner of the topic wants for personal reasons to delete it.

Since there seems to be a shortage on the number of teams necessary to start the tournament, I'm hijacking this thread to propose that the crew be allowed to/encouraged to run some npc type characters to fill out the necessary teams. As it is, there are, what? 5? 6 teams out of 8? I've submitted a basic set of 5 characters to Amena that could be the 7th team, and all that would be needed after that is another team of 5 to get the tournament enough teams to run.
Now, what I mean by NPCs is that they would be in the tournament solely to provide bodies to fight. They would have rather basic personalities, would not need to be role played very much (beyond in combat banter, gloating, etc), and would not be capable of utilizing certain things that players can (such as the twice per tournament 'sudden growth/moment of enlightenment').
It's not like the show didn't have it's own ranks of essentially faceless characters who were only there to provide someone to fight (and in doing so, progress the story).
Also, from what I can tell, we're already doing something along those lines for the round 0 combats.

and since they aren't OC's, they don't need to be added to the OC roster, don't need their back story explained (though the ones I made did have some explanation of their concept and how they came into being), And most importantly: no one has to hunt down their actions to keep track of them (since they will be only appearing for their match/matches).
With people disappearing from playing the cannon characters, this method might also be applied to them (at least in so far as not having them do a whole lot outside of fighting). We all kind of know how the cannon characters fight, so if it comes down to it, someone on the crew can pilot them through combat as necessary, and if someone dedicated actually joins as that character, they can take over from there.

I'm also willing to run the team I submitted as if they were npcs if that will help.
