Training Death Hunter DEATHSWEEPER General Information The large stone cavern with the tiled floor and large yellow smiley face is likely familiar to at least several trainees, and may even feature in a few nightmares from time to time. Welcome to Deathsweeper, the training course that may only be attempted via c-type golem, and often acts as a testing ground for the Life Division's more painful creations. Stealth and detecting imminent danger are vital for Death Hunters and anyone who has to spend extended amounts of time near Caelius. The Deathsweeper chamber is full of hidden traps that only the finest of survival instincts can survive unscathed.
If you fail: you get to once again relive the sensation of dying. Painfully and sometimes quite strangely.
If you win: you have survived stepping 5 tiles into the room. Anything further is purely for peen and bragging rights.
Mechanics roll 1 d10 check for hp loss and death decide whether or not to use your bonuses if you survive, repeat. roll list: the traps are ICly constantly changing, so feel free to get creative as to what exactly those traps are! -50% HP is off your full HP, so if you hit -50% twice, then you are 100% KO'd
01. horrible death 02. - 50% HP 03. live 04. live 05. - 50% HP 06. - 50% HP 07. horrible death 08. - 50% HP 09. live 10. horrible death
Bonus Mechanics This bonus is consumable. All participants get a flag, this flag will allow your character to notice something about the area they're stepping into. OOCly this means you can adjust your rolled number, up or down, by one point. Instinctive moves are used in the same manner as flags. These are stackable, so if you have 1 flag + 1 instinctive move, you can use them up in order to adjust your roll by two.
(If you roll a 1, you may not move your number down to 0, -1, or 10. And 10 cannot be adjusted to 1 or 11.)

This was getting beyond ridiculous. They were against him. The death hunters. The course was rigged as ******** and it was set to kill him for their amusement. Come on, cut him some slack he was trying really ******** hard here. Really hard. Hard enough that Dis was telling him to stop because 'By Jack you're a masochist.....' Even if Dis liked it like that. Point was, Marcus had taken his second break from this mass of bullshit to try and cool down. It was close to the later afternoon now and at best he'd fully made it to the third ******** tile before his a** got handed to him of a scalding hot platter of hate. Impaled, Acid, burn, cut in half- What was next being crush- Oh god please no. He could do without that experience again thank you very much. One time from the halloween douche was enough, he didn't need to relive that as a golem on deathsweeper. He really didn't. Teasing aside, the hunters on duty had the golem ready and waiting for him, one patting him on the back, telling him how he'd get it eventually. maybe not for a long time, but eventually. Hope, ye spring eternal in this hellish place upon occasion. Smiling weakly, Marcus got into the pod and got read for another go at this thing. Third time was the charm right? As he stepped onto the first tile he could have jumped for literal joy. Nothing. Not even a scratch. He was safe on his first step. Hope welled up, even as Dis told him not to get too cocky.Marcus couldn't help it. He was safe on his first tile. It was like expecting one candy, but getting two on accident. Magic. Okay not to just survive the rest. Status Step: 1HP: Full Flags: 1 Instinctive moves:

Luck fades, as do many things in life. And as Marcus contemplated which tile to move to next, he figured that soon, he'd get lucky. He would pass this stupid thing and move on with his life. As soon as he did, never again. Done. Over and out the end was near and coming and going and just- Marcus looked forward to the day when he could say he beat this stupid thing because it really pissed him off. He hated not being able to do something He hated Failure. You want to be perfect, but you're not~! Dis teased him and Marcus huffed. Looking at the tiles again he paused over one quickly changing to another. Safe here but, like many things in life, luck fades. Status Step: 2HP: Full Flags: 1 Instinctive moves:

Yes, this was it, step three. H just had to pace himself, watch where he was going and preferably, not die in a ball of fire. To be fair, Marcus didn't die in a ball of fire, one just came and hit the golem and by extension him in the chest. Not only did it burn, it hurt. Groaning as he got up, he realized that one might not have killed the golem but it was damn close. If he ******** up on this next one well- all was going to be for s**t. But here on death sweeper, that seemed pretty ******** normal as far as how things happened. Status Step: 3HP: 1/2 Flags: 1 Instinctive moves:

The last tile had killed that feel good vibe he had going but damn it all! He was still alive. He would beat this ******** thing just- Damn it. He wanted to beat this thing so bad! Okay. Calm down again, deep breaths. Marcus did that 'imagine where you want yourself to be' thing people would tell you about. He imagined himself beating this ******** course. Next tile was safe and he'd be closer. Just one step and- Nope. Eyes opened and he realize yet again, he'd been killed. So much for the envisioning bullshit. Shall they get started? Why yes mocking hunter on duty he would get started and you would make sure things happened. Granted, Marcus wasn't vocal about this but god above if he was wasting his whole day trying to beat this hellish thing. Would it be a day wasted? He really hoped not. If it was he was going to hate himself and brood. And he emerged on the training ground, he took the first step- and died. So it looked like yes, his day had probably been probably wasted. Marcus groaned as he was set up for another run. b***h b***h moan but he was being a stubborn mule. He wanted to go back saying how he'd done it. How we won and beat death. Sad reality was, death pretty much beat his trainee a** into the ground. He didn't even notice when he stepped on the tile and was safe. Status Step: 1HP: Full Flags:1 Instinctive moves:

He still was brooding in his thoughts, not looking as to where he was headed. Probably why on his next step he died again. So much for his day. Status Step: 2HP: Dead Flags: 1 Instinctive moves:
