 Crest was flying in the air, when he spotted the herd. He drifted down a bit to see which of those juicy morsels would be his. On his second pass by, he found the perfect one, a big old buck that seemed a bit lame on his back leg.
His mouth watering, Crest swooped down, laughing as the herd fled in all directions to get away from his paws. He teased them, letting them think he was after the ones in their prime, but finally took out the lame buck. After dragging it to a spot under some brush to keep it hidden from prying eyes, he went to get a quick drink at the stream, leaving the trail from his kill in plain sight.

 Khole was walking with her wings folded into her body. She'd been walking for a bit and was becoming hungry. Why wasn't she flying in search of food? She'd gotten into a scarp with another fox. While he got the worst of it, he'd manged by pure luck to scrap her sensitive wings. It wasn't bad but the wind irritated them when she flew so for now she would stick to the ground until it healed over. Just when she thought she would have to give up on the idea of finding meat to eat and have to eat nasty fruit she found a dead buck just paces away from her. Glancing here and there she snuck forward to sniff it and see if who ever had taken it down was still around.

He was returning to his kill, when a new scent hit his nose. It was female and near his meal. Crest wasn't too pleased about this. Stalking up to the brush, a snarl on his lips as he got closer. "That is my kill, back off and I might let you go."

Khole was sniffing around the dead animal when she heard a snarl coming from the brush to her right. Lifting her head up she turned to look and found a male. She chuckled to herself and sat down right next to his kill. This could become interesting she thought to herself. "What an interesting thing to say. Like you can scare me off like a kit, sorry to disappoint you but good luck with that." she said as her flames played around her paws.

Stalking up to his kill, Crest grabbed it back in his mouth. "I didn't make this kill for you, or heard you ask if I would share it." Though the vixen was pretty, he didn't want to come off as being nice. He would of fought off his own parents if they came near a kill he made for himself.
Her flames proved nothing to him, as his own paws caught aflame. He preferred his meal slightly warm, but not by his paws, this annoyed him even more. He pulled the deer closer to where he was standing, but away from his paws. "What were you doing at my kill?"

Khole couldn't help but let out a tiny giggle as he pulled his yummy prey away from her and closer to him. It was almost like a giant kit was sitting in front of her. For some reason it amused her and she knew he wouldn't like that she thought that. "Oh I know you make this kill for me and have you exactly given me a chance to ask if you would be so kind to share? First thing out of your mouth was a snarl and a threat." she said in a teasing tone.
"As for what I was doing I stumbled upon it and decided to check it out. Pending on whose kill it was I was going to either chase them off and take it for myself or I wasn't"She stated with a simple shrug of the wings.. well until her banged up wing hit a branch that was near it causing her to hiss a little.

Crest grin wasn't very pleasant as he looked at her. "Regardless, you must not of looked very hard for who might of killed it." Not needing to show of, he let his flames die down. Most of his life he had to fight for what was his, even against family. And now a stranger just thinks she could take his food, crazy!
Hearing her hiss, though softly, made him look a bit closer. It seemed one of her wings was hurt. "What did you do there?" Though asked more out of curiosity, there was a hint of 'don't care' in his voice.

"Well I hadn't had a chance to go looking or to check for the one when you showed up. I had just made it over to the kill." Khole said gritting her teeth to ignore the pain in her wing. If she ever got her paws on the male, there would be hell to pay for him. She thought darkly to herself. "I was attacked and they got a swipe at my wing.... though they got more damage than me... the cuts make it hard to fly"

Now he growled more at himself than at her. He took kills from others before when he had been injured and remembered a time flying with cut wings. Crest looked down at the buck. While he could save some of it for later he could also hunt for another.
"Here, have some," he shoved the juiciest parts to the female. "At least until your wounds are healed better, then you can leave." He glared at her, but it was more of a half-threat.

Khole watched him closely. He growled again though for what she wasn't sure. She had backed up from the kill respectfully and since he was growling again she only assumed it was her. She gave him a glare and was about to sneer at him when he spoke.
She was shock and a bit taken back not expecting him to give her some food and be semi-kind about it. It left her a bit dumbfounded with a stupid look on her face. She finally snapped out of it and bowed her head to him. "Uh thanks." she said still a bit unsure and a bit in disbelief that he was allowing her to eat. She took a small bite and almost moaned because it tasted good. She hadn't had a fresh kill in a while.

He moved back so that she could eat without him hovering nearby. There was other things he could do, like look at her wings now that she seemed to need food more than anything else. It looked like he might have company, if the wings were any sign of how badly flying would be for her. Sighing, "You can have it all. I will go find or get another meal soon."

She laid down to eat what he had given her. She didn't want to risk bumping her wings on a branch again. So the lower they were from anything the better of she would be or so was her logic. She took a bigger bite out of the yummy, juice deer and her tail wagged slightly behind her. It really was good and tasted amazing. She glanced up at him and gave him a lovely smile. "Thank you. I'm sorry I didn't mean to sneak your kill out from under you. I'll pay you back later kay?" she asked before continueing to eat what he had given her before getting to the rest of the deer. She was taking her time eating it because there wasn't a reason to rush. "I'm Khole by the way."

The unexpected apology made the male step back. He wasn't use to another being like that. And the offer to help or bring him food?! He was shocked. "No rush on repaying the food. Just heal up those wings, Khole." He sat back on his legs, looking out for a possible easy and quick meal when it donned on him that she gave her name. "Crest."

"I was going to say it wouldn't be something that happened right away. But I will make sure my wings are healed. I..uh.. I've never had my wings hurt before. I'm not saying that you have but I was wondering if you had an idea of how long it would take to heal?" There was a hint of worry for her wings in her voice. She was a deava and she did love to fly as much as she liked to torment other from time to time. Being unable to fly scared her. "Thank you again Crest for sharing with me."

He shifted. "Well there are a number of days it could be. Depends on how bad they are and if it hit anything major." Crest started to step towards her, but stopped himself. With everything he had said to her, it might not be safe to get that close without saying why.
