It had been a couple days since she last saw him; normally that wouldn't have been a problem, except, well...

It was Roch.

Keeping him in one place was like trying to take a fire pet swimming, especially with the way his Dad and Granddad liked to interfere in his life. Plus, you know, those bouts of crazy he had where he went off to do something stupid. Text messages went unanswered, his door was knocked on, creepy alleys were peeked down, the casino was stared at; but there was no sign of the loudmouth idiot she called her friend.

Sigh.

So she did the next best thing; she went back to his dorm. Knocking didn't seem to help, so...

"ROCH? Are you home? Answer the door, Roch!" She yelled at the door, because that was brilliant.

Taryn was staring down at her phone as she approached Roch's dorm. The fact that he might be off having one adventure or another didn't concern her, but all of her messages going unanswered did. Her paranoia suggested he was simply finished with her, but logic won out.

Something horrible had happened.

When she met the hall before his dorm, she saw an undead perhaps her age yelling for him. He wasn't showing himself, and no way was he purposefully ignoring two of his friends... at least she assumed this ghoul was his friend.

"I don't think he's in there," she offered, holding up her pone as if it were some kind of evidence, "I've been trying to get a hold of him all day."

Amrita startled at the voice, turning towards the scareling that she barely recognized. Grey eyes went down to stare at the phone and then back up at the ghoul herself, still frowning unhappily.

"...You too, eh? That idiot." She huffed, folding her arms under her chest and tapping her elbows with her backwards hands. "He has got to stop doing that!" The patchwork whined in frustration, swinging a grudging little kick at the door, only to have her heel bounce innocently off of the wood. She fell silent and still all of a sudden, merely staring at the door with quite the frown on what was left of her face.

"...Oh!" She said suddenly, turning towards the ghoul again, outstretching a backwards hand. "I'm Amrita...wanna help me break into his room? M-maybe there's clues in there!" Because that seemed to be the only way to get to the bottom of this.

"Honestly, he's never done this to me before," Taryn admitted, but she had perhaps not known Roch as long as some others. She brushed her hair behind her ear and then looked up again to the undead. She curiously shook a backward hand and smiled. "I'm Taryn. Let's see~"

The chimera had never been taught to pick a lock or open a door with a credit card, but she knew that it was possible... none of this stopped her from trying the door first. Nope. Definitely locked. Hm. Speaking from an engineering standpoint, if the lock was hit hard enough at the body it should shudder loose. She'd just... have to try.

The ghoul raised her hoof and launched it into the door, just beside the handle. The door shuddered, but did not fly open. Hmph.

"...Err, y-yeah, this...um, happens." Amrita admitted to the poor ghoul. He liked to up and disappear, or at least try to disappear while convincing you he was a terrible, shameful boil...Honestly? Amrita thought he was full of it. She liked him, he was nice to her!

"Nice to meet you!" The frown disappeared for a moment, and then she stepped dutifully aside to get out of the ghoul's way. Though the door did not do more than rattle, Amrita was thoroughly impressed. "W-wow! Nice!" Backward hands clapped, her wrists crossed awkwardly so palm could meet palm.

When she decided it was her turn, she barely got in a hit; the door jiggled a little, but no more than it did when she kicked it earlier. Sigh.

Stupid door! Taryn gave an angry yelp and heaved her hoof into the door, the swinging of her arms acting as an angry, angry pendulum. This seemed to work, as Roch's door gave a thundering boom and opened inward.

...Jack, it'd worked!

Taryn stepped in and looked around before turning back to Amrita.

"Does it? ...well. He did go on break without telling me." Somehow, though, that didn't seem to bother her. This, however, seemed a little bit wrong.

She learned to take cover the first time, and this time was no different; but when the door opened with Taryn's special brand of persuasion, the Vetala cheered, throwing her arms into the air.

"You go ghoul!" She was hot on her hooved heels though, stepping in and taking a look; everything looked the same, nothing had really changed, except... "AAH!" The sound she made was nothing short of pure horror, pressing the backs of her hands against her cheeks, both flesh and skeletal.

"Taryn!" Amrita cried out, still in despair over what she had seen; her line of vision, if you followed it, went right to his fish tank. "Roch isn't in Amity anymore!"

"Wh... what?!" Taryn was startled and honestly worried for a moment. Was there a body? Had all of his belongings been sucked out through a wormhole? ...no, that didn't seem to be it. She turned toward the other ghoul and did indeed follow her line of sight. "...the fish?" She approached and looked the over, having a couple of floresce herself.

"Yes, the fish!" Amrita whined, clearly distressed. "Roch loves those punkeesh! He takes good care of them, but they're..." She wandered over, pressing against the glass as if to get a better look. "Malnourished!" It was clearly too terrible to say normally. No, it must be said dramatically.

"Did you know he worked for two weeks straight, and then broke into a casino to try and get the rare rainbow punkeesh for his collection?" He still didn't have it, apparently; it wasn't in the tank, at least. She could only hope the other punkeesh in there didn't eat it. The good news was, there were no bones... "His stupid Grandad---hmm." A light bulb seemed to flash in her head, and she looked over her shoulder at her fellow B&E companion.

"...We should check to see if his phone is here." Amrita decided with a frown, looking for the fish food to correct this horrible, horrible treatment of fish. "Could you look for it? I'll join you in a minute..."

Taryn listened with a little nod, thinking that maybe the fish were less worry than Roch being gone. As soon as there was the mention of the casino, though, she turned with her eyes narrowed. He'd broken into something? A casino even? The chimera ghoul ground her teeth together, and then decided that finding Roch was more important than worrying about his criminal record. He had said he had one.

She pulled out her phone again then and dialed Roch's number, putting the device to her ear and listening. Nothing, even four rings in. She shook her head and began to gently pick through Roch's things for his phone. In her mind, he wasn't definitely gone, and he certainly wouldn't have liked them breaking in.

"I don't see it... unless he's stashes it somewhere weird."

If the subject was ever brought up, Amrita would have liked to point out that if he didn't want them to break into his dorm, he shouldn't have disappeared like that. So there.

"I swear to jack...I'm going to smack that smug little--" She grumbled to the fish, taking careful pains to make sure they were well fed, and making more of a note to come back and feed them later, too. "Think he would?" She said thoughtfully, and loud enough for the other ghoul to hear her. Roch didn't seem like the type to hide things, after all...he was so loud.

"Mmm...Have you ever met his Dad? Or Granddad?" Fish fed and a little less murderous to each other, the ghoul wandered over to pick through his karaoke box, humming thoughtfully.

"I don't know. I haven't been in here much..." Taryn admitted, but continued rifling through his things. "I... no. I mean, I've heard his granddad on the phone, but I haven't met them in person." It was starting to seem like everyone else had. Maybe he was just protecting her. After lifting a pillow and finding nothing underneath, she turned to Amrita and shook her head.

"I don't think it's here."
