A skinny grunt stood around the pokemon storage area, peering at the names and labels of virtual boxes before selecting one of them on the PC monitor. Doing so caused a physical tray of actual pokeballs to slide out from a slot near the PC. Inspecting the tray, the crimson-eyed man frowned, picking up a pokeball and pressing the switch to enlarge it.
These were what remained of Aila's pokeballs and, in them, her pokemon. The ones that hadn't immediately been reassigned to new Rockets, at least. Izaya seemed to be searching for a particular one, but without letting out the pokemon inside, it was impossible for him to tell what was in which. He wasn't even certain what kind of pokemon she owned, except for a few; one of which he was searching for.
It wasn't as though he intended to steal it, but he needed to borrow Luciole for something. A mini-mission, as he saw it. Unfortunately, though he was all too familiar with the Jirachi itself, he didn't quite remember ever laying eyes on her pokeball and thus didn't know what kind of ball she dwelled in. He couldn't just start letting out pokemon, either, because someone was bound to notice and he wasn't even supposed to be in the storage area without pokemon to deposit.
Rubbing his temples, he snatched up the tray to put on a table nearby so he could see them in the light, not noticing as one of the balls shifted from the momentum and rolled between his feet past him.

The rolling pokeball continued on its merry way until eventually struck a wall, colliding at just the right angle and with just enough force to depress the release switch on its surface. From within came a small Zorua, a mixture of dark grays and electric blues in color. Riviere glanced around himself briefly, his feet spread in an alerted stance. It felt as though he'd been in his pokeball for ages - something he wasn't quite used to. What he was used to was hours a day, ever day, in a room with his comrades, being forced against his will to work hard and grow stronger. A survey of his surroundings presented him with one human in company, a human that he didn't recognize.
Riviere's first instinct was to scamper off and explore the halls, but the situation was uncomfortably strange. First, he decided, he would ask this strange male about his trainer's location. Unable to express his question in a tongue that would be understood, he instead acted out his concern, shifting into the shape of the small girl that had trained him with his species' unique ability. It was in this form that he sidled up to Izaya, pink eyes upturned inquisitively in an effort to convey his question.

The familiar sound of a pokemon being released from its pokeball alerted the grunt to look behind him. He cringed and took a moment to set the tray of pokeballs down, prepared to have to explain himself with a pack of excuses to some attentive, grumpy higher-up. The grunt had yet to be addressed, though, so he pretended not to hear whoever was behind him, thinking that if he simply kept his head low, he wouldn't be questioned.
After a minute or two of silence, the grunt began to grow curious and turned his head casually to see the newcomer out the corner of his eye. Said newcomer had sidled up to him at that point, startling Izaya with their proximity. What really got him, though, was the person's face.
He had to do a double-take before stumbling back against the table, upsetting the tray on it and sending Aila's pokeballs rolling every which way. The agile man quickly scooped them up before they hit the ground, but he still stared, wide-eyed and gaping, at the individual in front of him.
"A-aila-chan...?" he breathed at last, wondering if he was seeing things. Maybe he had stayed up a bit too late the night before. "W-what are you doing here? How did you - " Was it her ghost?
He glanced at the balls gathered in his arms and quickly placed them back in the tray. Was she coming after him thinking he was trying to steal her pokeballs? But no, that couldn't be possible! She looked so real...and solid. He half wanted to reach out and touch her, but he didn't quite trust the apparition not to disappear if he did.

Riviere did love tricks and normally, having seen how startled the stranger was, would have milked the situation for all it was worth. At the moment, however, he was much more curious about his question. A question which, evidently, had been somehow misinterpreted by its recipient. With a slightly irritated frown, he shook his head in an effort to steer his company away from the conclusion he seemed to be reaching and planted his hands on his hips. The form he'd taken was a little weird to gesture with - especially since he wasn't used to altering his appearance - but it wasn't terribly hard to figure out. This didn't make it any more convenient that he was unable to give a proper human voice to his human form, of course. How best to make his point...?

The grunt stared a few minutes longer, surprised by the smaller girl's pose. At her apparent irritation, he gave her a sheepish smile before catching sight of a pokeball on the floor that he must have missed.
"This isn't what it looks like, honestly," he tried to assure the illusionary agent and he crossed the room. "I'm not stealing your pokemon, I promise. I-I was just trying to find Luciole...and..." Nakura paused to reach down and retrieve the pokeball, still not taking his eyes off the pink-eyed teen. "I was going to ask her if she could help me retrieve your necklace from Asch. I mean, he gave it to a pokemon. Can you believe that?"
As he spoke, Nakura, tossed the pokeball up and down in his hand distractedly, unable to tear his gaze away. "You really don't have to look so irritated with me, you know..."

Rivere blinked in confusion as the man spoke. What was he getting at? Was he still mistaking the Zorua for the girl he was imitating? That was just silly; who would mix them up more than cursorily? (Rivere, of course, had no idea just how effective his transformations were.) Still frowning, he laid a hand on his chest - 'I'm one of those pokemon, me.' - then placed his arms at his side palms out a posture of earnest questioning - 'Where is my trainer?' To punctuate the question more clearly, he tilted his head to a side and stared intently at the stranger's eyes.
