Survey Mission 3DArticle Headline: Blighted crops leave farmers in China confused.
* D class difficulty level (you can run this mission solo or with a group/team)
*Article contents: Many local farms in China are suffering from blighted crops and an overpopulation of locusts. Experts predict a rise in export costs and overall food prices.

* MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 3D. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Each player must roll at least three times with rped reactions. Once they have "collected enough information", they can return back and submit a report in this thread.
1- 20: You walk around the local farm area, but the locals don't seem to take you too well, gathering around you yelling at you in a foreign language for some reason.
21 - 40: You investigate the "crops" a little closer, and notice that for any that survived withering and drying, several have strange tiny "burn marks" in them, a strange spiral shape...
41 - 60: Underneath you are hundreds and hundreds of dead locusts. They are a strange discoloured grey hue...
61 - 80: Though noone else - especially the farmers - notice it, you see a black dog in the distance, staring at you with glowing red eyes before it trots away again.
81- 100: A couple of the farmers are arguing with each other - you can't understand what they're saying, but it looks like you should just lay low...

Robert had been a good boy. He'd chosen Candace last time, despite how desperately he wanted to be selfish about his choices. He'd done what was right for the mission, and what was right for Deus.

He deserved a little payback.

He sat on the bed in Petra's room, watching her get ready for their mission. Just the two of them, as unromantic as a mission might be, was still going to feel nicer than the normal outings he'd been on. He deserved this, he thought to himself. So what if that little nagging voice in the back of his mind was telling him he was being selfish with her time. It was his prer - his prerog - his perogi -

Robert had spent a good four minutes staring at the Twizzler in his hand and trying to figure out what word he was thinking about.

With almost second-sight precision, Petra knew when Robert's eyes were on her and when they weren't. This was likely due to the fact that she was normally hyper-aware of what he was doing at any given moment, should he happen to be in the room with her. Not necessarily because she was a secretly possessive lover (although that most certainly could have played a substantial part,) but more often than not because she felt, probably rightly so, that Robert needed to keep an eye on. This habit wasn't new either, not at all just pertaining to the fact that they were now hunters who were consistently in danger, even in their own facility -- she'd developed this ability over a much longer span of time, spending years making sure he didn't do anything particularly stupid (which usually involved punching people.) So perhaps it was more of a learned ability, just a feeling she got when she subconsciously noticed out of the corner of her eye that he was watching her.

As she crossed the room to retrieve her hunter coat from where it had been unceremoniously discarded by the doorway, she knew that now was not one of those times.

Turning around to face him, the moon trainee tilted her head a little bit as she watched her fiance stare at the piece of candy in his hand, watching him as she began to pull on the coat. The look on his face was priceless -- that thoughtful expression with such an intense focus made her think of the cartoons with the hamster wheels or an engine running full speed in people's heads, just before the hamster tripped or the engine exploded. Extending one arm, she lifted her eyebrows with interest as she pulled on the other sleeve, the corners of her lips curling in just the barest hint of a smile. "Having a staring contest with your Twizzler?" she asked, her sarcastic tone laced with an undertone of amusement. Maybe some people would have taken this as her being rude, or snippy, but Robert knew her too well -- he knew her better than she knew herself. Recrossing the room to stand in front of him, Petra reached up with one hand to brush a lock of hair out of his eyes with the backs of her fingers, the motion distinctly affectionate.

Robert hadn't realized he was staring at a Twizzler until he heard her voice, and felt the smooth sound of it slide past his demanding thoughts to pull him from his reverie. He blinked and looked up at her, before looking down at his Twizzler again, and suddenly biting the top off of it.

"Not anymore," He muttered with a slight muffle from the candy he'd stuffed in his mouth. He grinned a very red grin, and bounced off of the bed after she brushed his hair out of her face. The bounce had him up on his feet, planted firmly on either side of her, and his arms were around her before he'd completely settled on the ground.

"You all ready to go, sunshine?" He murmured into her hair, moving his jaw against her skull as he chewed his candy. "Or, uh, maybe you don't like this outfit." He started tugging on her hunter coat in a lame attempt to pull it off. "Maybe you need help picking out another one, and undressing." His eyes rolled upward innocently, before pulling back to give her the sweetest of smiles.

"I've been trying real hard to be helpful, lately."

Sometimes, even Petra forgot how large Robert was. In all contexts, really, but in this instance it was his sheer height and mass which left her in quiet admiration, having to tilt her head back a little to meet his eyes. She was by no means tiny -- average height, with a lean athletic frame -- but compared to him the moon trainee was positively petite. His own muscular frame put damn near every guy to shame, built like a tank and easily able to envelope her entire body with his own... she was reminded very acutely of how effortlessly he could lift her, and it was a very short hop to the thought that, if he so desired, her fiance could crush her like a soda can. Tilting her head slightly to the side in a thoughtful gesture, Petra stared up at him for a few moments, her mind wandering away from their mission instead to meander down the lane of how gentle he could be and how gracefully he danced, so at odds with how one would have initially thought of him.

The sound of his voice against her ear -- gentle, she thought to herself, which almost distracted her again -- coaxed an unbidden shiver from the moon trainee, and Petra leaned back a little to look up at him again, palms pressed to his chest to keep at least a few inches between them. Not because she really wanted that distance, or because she didn't thoroughly enjoy the arms around her, but because if she didn't, they were never going to leave this room. They would never show up for the mission period, or likely for the entire rest of the day, and when someone came looking for them they'd only find clothes re-scattered around the room, and she'd have to somehow explain why she had needed to give Robert "CPR" for the past twelve hours. In fact, he must have had a similar idea, because as soon as she moved to lean back, the Life hunter had already expertly tried to maneuver her out of the coat she had put on, something she evaded only by the most awkward of wiggles and twists against him.

"Bobby."

Furrowing her eyebrows, Petra gave her fiance the most stern, scolding look she could possibly manage... which was a little ridiculous, considering how not a second beforehand she'd looked like she'd had a worm down her bra. She was generally very good at looking stern, however, having a lot of practice at it like she did, so the point was still very much gotten across. Probably. Still, she couldn't help but be a tiny bit amused by his comment of being helpful. For some reason it made her want to kiss him. And so she did. Pursing her lips a little (because damn him for being so cute,) the moon trainee lifted her head a little to kiss him gently, sliding her fingers under his chin before she pulled away, giving him an almost apologetic look.

"We're going to be late."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 11, 2012 11:07 pm

Ohh, but she was tempting. Wiggling against him and giggling did nothing to temper his boiling blood, it only fueled his terrible desires and made him forget all about responsibility and priorities and simple adult choices. All he wanted was to fling the poor woman on the bed and do the one thing he wished he could just live every minute of his entire life doing.

Her.

Would he ever feel sated? It was frustrating, how little he was able to get done when Petra was in a room. He wasn't thinking with his brain anymore, and he never really thought much with it anyway. So he bent down, wrapped his arms around her a**, and lifted her up into the air, hefting her in his arms and holding her cradled from her behind. He almost hoped she tried to squirm again - he loved it when she fought back. He kissed her nose, and grinned a dangerous grin when she told him they were going to be late.

Her apologetic look went ignored.

"I know."

"Robert..."

There was a warning in her tone now, her voice dropping a little lower as he hooked his arms under her, picking her up effortlessly. Her hands settled to his shoulders automatically, the frequency with which this occurred making it an almost instinctual reaction, blue eyes flashing a little when he gave her that dangerous grin. It was very likely Robert already knew it, but he was going to get his wish. Even by couples' standards, their fighting would probably be checked under the 'very often' box in a survey. Sometimes they fought for play, sometimes they fought for real, and sometimes they fought just for the practice -- Petra could already tell this was going to be one of those times. Play fighting, in this instance, or at least only semi-serious fighting, because neither of them were to the point of hot-headed anger, but she could already tell that there was going to be a fight, and it was probably going to involve a physical altercation. Robert would fight for sex, and Petra would fight because she enjoyed it for a number of different reasons, including the challenge, the tension relief and, if things got physical, the futility of wrestling with someone nearly twice her size.

For the hell of it, and not because she thought it would help, the moon hunter spoke again, a little more 'threatening.'

"Don't you dare."
PostPosted: Mon Apr 30, 2012 10:50 pm

That was a threat.

Robert shuddered happily, letting Petra down out of his arms and bending his head to kiss her chin, before his hands started wandering down her body. He was all at once innocent and completely dirty, and there was no telling which way he was planning on taking the moment.

Except, Petra knew. Petra always knew.

"Sunshine?" He mumbled quietly past closed lips, as his hands rose up and quite fully cupped her with both hands.

"I dare."

Petra stood shock-still as her fiance's hands roamed over her body, not even her eyes shifting from where they had locked with Robert's crimson ones. He bent to kiss her chin, and for that she slid her eyes closed, but as soon as he lifted his head again they once again reopened to focus on him, eyebrows lifted a little in a silent challenge. She'd knew he'd take it too -- by now, they both knew how to push each other's buttons, knew each other's trigger points, knew what would set each other off and what would make the other practically melt in the palm of their hand, if they chose. And she knew, from the first moment she opened her mouth, that her words would only egg him on. Although her expression stayed steely, the way he quivered made it exceptionally tempting to ditch everything and 'play hooky' so to speak, and Petra had to fight especially hard not to just grab him and throw him to the bed. Instead, she just waited, patiently, for when he met her bait and threw her back a challenge in return.

As she expected, he did not let her down. It came in the form of large, calloused hands strategically placed, and a low, rumbling murmur that was especially difficult to ignore. It was only years of practice that kept her self restraint in check, the moon hunter's eyes trailing down to where those hands rested before lifting to meet his again. She didn't say anything, not yet, but her eyes said it all -- a competitive excitement glittered a little dangerously, telling him she was oh so ready to meet his challenge. Reaching up, Petra reached up to take a fistful of blonde hair in her more delicate fingers, the other hand grabbing the front of his hunter coat to gain a little more leverage over the larger man, dragging him down to her level.

"Get out."

Planting both feet firmly onto the floor, the moon trainee then proceeded to use her entire body weight to try to toss him towards the door, spinning around to plant one foot on his a**, giving it a helpful little kick.

It was in the silence of the moment that Robert really started to feel like he was going to lose control. Petra let his hands roam, and they took full advantage of those few, sweet moments of allowance. They slid, and grasped, with a desperation that belied his silence. He had been playing challenge the challenger, but now the game was over, and he really wanted her. This was a dangerous position for him to be in, because it gave her the upper hand. She had him under her thumb.

And now, she had him in her grasp.

He winced when she pulled him down by the collar and hair, his chin jutting out stubbornly even as she forced him down to her level. He grunted ferally, and met her eye to eye, matching her challenge with one of his own..

..Until she flipped him around and kicked him out.

"W-WAIT..!" That's not what was supposed to happen. He flailed as he was pushed out the door, trying to turn himself back around to her, and reaching out to try and grab her anywhere he could. This time, it wasn't so much groping as it was about survival.

"Okay okay OKAY OKAY I'll be good, baby please, I'll be good, we can go! Look, I'm giving up! You win! Please, baby don't kick me out!" He was already pushed outside of the door, and he dropped down to his hands and knees, holding his hands clasped together in front of him in a pleading manner. "I give, you win, I'm sorry. I'll stop thinking with my c**k and we can get to work. I promise."

Oh, that feral look in his eye. It sent a little shiver down her spine like nothing else, absolutely no one in the world able to do to her what he did. She was almost tempted to keep him there, give all of Deus a big '******** You' and spend the day playing a more adult version of 'Hide and Seek.' But it was far too late for that, and if she was honest with herself she knew that Deus would only tolerate so much of their indecent activities -- as it was, they seemed to end up having sex every time they sparred together. Not exclusively in their dorm, either. Besides, seeing as this was an external mission, it wasn't out of the question that it would happen anyway.

Folding her arms loosely across her chest, Petra quirked an eyebrow at her fiance as he dropped to his knees, giving him a skeptical look but saying nothing. Instead, she let him continue, trying not to look too amused by his pleading. Amusement, however, quickly turned to a sympathy, his sad puppy eyes and mournful tone quickly melting her normally-icy exterior. After a moment she let her arms fall, taking the few steps necessary to cross the distance to him and bending down a little to brush her lips against his ear, one hand resting on his shoulder. "I love you," she murmured under her breath, just loud enough for him to hear. Sliding her hand up his neck to gently caress the nape of his neck, the moon trainee reached up with her other hand to close the door to her room, slowly beginning to straighten. Still, she kept her hands on his shoulders, staring down affectionately at the man she would give her life for.

"If you're good, and we finish early, there may be a period of time where we might be unaccounted for in our mission report~"

There was a total of three seconds before Robert got up off his knees, took Petra by the hand, and dragged her right out the door. They were going to rush through this mission so hard, and so fast, that there would be no excuse for her to go back on her promise. And he'd get what he wanted.

Oh, he'd get it.

They were at the portal room before he'd taken his third breath. "CHINA MISSION, STEP ON IT." He yelped at the attendant, who'd already had a portal prepared, but still stopped to stare at being bossed around like that.

...

"YOU'RE NOT STEPPIN' ON IT, KID!" The portal opened with a rush of air.

If it wasn't for the calculated patience, reserved exclusively for Robert and his enthusiastic, misguided antics, she might have been laughing all the way to the portal. Had it been a few years prior, and they had been alone, she probably would have. The blonde had a way of doing that, making people either love him or hate him unconditionally, even the stone-faced girl who had always displayed the tendency towards emotional reservation. Instead of the amusement threatening to break her cool facade, Petra lifted her midnight-blue eyes to the ceiling, focusing on the tiles and bright florescent lights which passed them by as they dashed down the hall, one far more eager than the other. After a prolonged period of time, upon which she felt it would be safe to look down again and not smile (which really would just encourage him,) she let them slide back down to stare along the taut line their arms made to her husband's retreating back, expression level as he pulled her along, unresistant.

Door after door passed them by, gold division symbols labeling hallways they passed, some earning her a little snap of whiplash as he changed direction slightly, until finally the large, rather foreboding door to the portal room approached. As with every time she entered that room, she felt a little shiver run down her spine at the unbelievably complicated equipment which filled the room, black and silver wires stark against the white walls, splashed with the pale blue and the whir of runic technology from the monitors. The Moon trainee waited until Robert had pulled her past the countless terminals, some occupied by other white-coated individuals, some not, before she leaned back a little, forcing a bit more tension through their connected arms to slow him, like a cowboy might slow a horse by pulling back on the reigns. As he barked an order to one of the attendants nearby, she took the opportunity to gently untangle her hand from his grasp, glancing down idly at the disheveled state of her hunter coat with mild dissatisfaction. She rectified this with a roll of her shoulders, sleeves sliding smoothly down to settle midway down her upper arm, and if it were possible her expression turned flatter, her attention flicking to one of the sleeves. Reaching inside, she searched with her fingers inside, until her fingers curled around the source of the bulge, pulling it free to reveal a pair of black panties.

Staring for a moment at the undergarment in her hand, Petra swiveled her gaze slowly up to her husband, giving him a dry expression.

At the end of the room, a crackle of energy signified the oncoming connection, and within a few seconds an explosion of liquid blue light filled the room, reflecting a pale blue aura back at the occupants as the portal came online. Turning around wordlessly, she crossed the room to where a stray portal assistant loitered, and, extending her hand palm-down, Petra dropped the panties into his own grasp wordlessly, turning back to the portal to step through.

As usual, the change from artificial to natural light was a little blinding, the Moon trainee lifting one hand to shield her eyes. Equally as usual (which was likely due more to their bad luck or the necessity to research places affected by unnatural weather,) the day with unequivocally hot in China, the sun shining brightly enough that waves of heat radiated off the dirt road they stood, little mirage-water pools drowning the dry, crackled-looking crops that surrounded them. Although it was long-sleeved, Petra was secretly glad for the white coats, which covered the black tanktop and skirt she wore underneath. She also secretly wished that they had had the foresight to bring water.

Glancing back at Robert, she was just about to open her mouth to ask if he had thought about it when she noticed, just behind him, a strange line of burned plants, stark against the mostly-green vegetation. Furrowing her brow, she took a few steps towards him, resting her hand on his arm gently, her eyes still focused on the mysterious plants.
