Name: Mayumi Kobayashi

Nickname: Her roller derby name is Miso Vicious, but she doesn't go by this on a regular basis

Age: 17

Birthday: August 14

Sign: Leo

Gemstone: Amber

Blood Type: AB

Fav. Food: Deep-fried tofu, and anything strawberry or strawberry-flavored.

Hated Food: Meat because she's vegetarian. Natto because it's friggin' disgusting.

School: St. Magdalena's Seminary. Her mother threatened to send her to an all-girl's school if Mayumi was caught dating before she was eighteen, and, well, Mom wasn't kidding. This is Mayumi's second year there; prior to this, she attended Meadowview.

Hobbies:
Fashion - Mayumi likes looking good. Even before she was in the Saint Magdalena's uniform, going to class in pajamas was unthinkable. She takes time every morning to put on make-up and curl her naturally-straight hair. Outside of class, she is hardly in a position financially to deck herself out in designer clothes, but she buys up all the magazines she can and takes essentially all of her style tips from the "how to mimic haute couture on a budget" articles. Mayumi tends towards Asian trends, but prefers the more wearable everyday ones. Not to say she does not have a handful of Harajuku street fashion magazines, too, but she usually just tells people she hates that stuff because she gets tired of everyone assuming she dresses up crazy every weekend just because she's Japanese.

Internet Schadenfreude - She has her liberal causes, partly growing from her volunteer experiences required by St. Mags, and, while she is not the most politically active girl in the school, she still likes to try to keep up with current events. In getting much of her news online, Mayumi has taken up reading through the comments for all sorts of articles, having found a morbid fascination in the resulting arguments between anonymous readers over hot-button issues. She rarely leaves comments, herself, mostly because she somewhat ironically feels that she is above arguing on the internet ... she just loves seeing it when other people do. And, going along with this and her fashion magazines, she is addicted to celebrity gossip and relationship advice columns. Mayumi probably cannot tell you a certain actor's debut movie, but she has a pretty good estimate of how many affairs he has had....

Roller Derby - Her favorite bad habit since starting at St. Mags. Mayumi started skating for exercise and soon discovered roller derby. She is on a team with some other girls from her school, and embraces it as her opportunity to be over-the-top and crazy; Mayumi cusses more and adopts a more "bad girl" persona when under her derby name Miso Vicious. Between the liberation she really only allows herself while she's on the derby track, and the exercise itself, Mayumi has found roller derby is the best way to blow off stress and relax, and she enjoys the social aspect of it, as well. She keeps this hobby a secret from her parents, and as a result, has gotten good at hiding bruises.

Virtues:
Calm - Mayumi is not a shrinking violet, but she is introverted, and generally a fairly quiet girl. She is no more or less prone to anger than anyone else, but she very rarely raises her voice or swears at people, preferring to avoid confrontation (though her critical nature prevents her from being too outright passive-aggressive). Similarly, at parties, she might be a bit of a wallflower if no one is actively engaging her, but she will also not be the one dancing on the table to get attention. Mayumi is generally able to take things in stride and handle most situations in a calm manner. She does become markedly more forceful when she is in her roller derby mode, but Mayumi considers this a form of acting.

Detail-oriented - For someone so concerned with her appearance, she wants to make sure everything is in its proper place at all times, so it all looks good to everyone else. Mayumi does not consider herself a really hardcore student, but she still worries about her school-work well enough. The main reason according to the girl herself? To spite her mother for thinking her a delinquent. In truth, she also feels that anything worth doing is worth doing decently. She is not in the habit of lying often, but when she does cook up a little white lie, she takes care to make sure her story is as air-tight as possible. And, more constructively, Mayumi takes note of little things in group projects that need fixing, or could make something better.

Reliable - St. Magdalena's work requirements never really bothered Mayumi, as she feels totally alright with helping in groups. She does her part in group projects and will show up for study sessions on time, and would not half-a** a project, group or otherwise, because Mayumi is just not comfortable doing that. She may not have the best essay in the class or the most impressive poster, but those who have seen her work can come to rely on a certain level of achievement.

Flaws:
Critical - Along with being detail-oriented, Mayumi also notices when things are not carefully presented. And she will let you know: Are you going to walk around all day with socks that don't match? Did you write this essay in your sleep? Do you really think he's going to believe your story? She insists that she only has her friends' best interests in mind, but she can be a bit nit-picky and overbearing at times. Post-corruption, she will begin to see those who do not meet her appraisals as lesser - she would never wear pajamas to go to the store, so people who do must all just be lazy, bad people.

Minding Your Business - While she does not quite indulge in real drama like she does in celebrity drama (less fun when it is close by), Mayumi likes to know what her friends are up to. Relationship status changed on facebook? Spill the beans, girl! Wait, who is having a party? She will not necessarily invite herself, but she does have a constant need to know what everyone is doing, and with whom. Most often this applies to social relationships, but sometimes Mayumi will get nosy about things like grades as well. She wants all of the details, and is known to show suspicion if someone wants to keep their secrets.

Needy - Mayumi still does have trouble being left out, and too many excuses not to hang out with her too close together is more than enough reason for her to break a friendship. If she likes you, she will want to spend time with you a LOT, and send you text messages all the time. And she will expect responses. The girl has been known to get mad at friends who do not ask what's wrong when she is crying, and you can bet she is even more of a joy when Aunt Flo is in town. This flaw stems from a desire for attention, and affects essentially all of her social relationships with her peers.

Attacks:
Sailor Scout Attack: Cataract Rapids!
A torrent of water rushes away from Acanthite and forms a 3' x 15' section of "river" littered with sharp rocks and smooth stones at the bottom. The primary danger of this attack is from slipping and falling, as the water itself is only about 4" deep and will not necessarily flow fast enough to knock anyone over, however if Acanthite can direct the flow downhill, gravity will make the torrent a bit more powerful. The flow of water lasts several seconds, and leaves behind the rapids for as long as it takes for the water to flow away; leaving wet rocks behind for about thirty seconds. The stretch of rocks and water must be straight out in front of Acanthite, and as a senshi scout, she can use this attack twice per battle.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Cataract Portcullis!
Like Cataract Rapids, except Acanthite starts the water falling from above. Since the water starts from just above her upraised hands, it creates a waterfall about 4' wide in front of her, which acts as a barrier, though it, like any waterfall, is not completely impenetrable - it will just strongly deter projectiles, and make it difficult to pass through. The flow of water from this attack is slightly wider, lasts longer than plain Rapids, and produces a greater volume of water; the waterfall lasting about twenty seconds. The rocks stretch out closer to 18' in front of her, and remain for forty seconds after the water has flowed away. At this stage Acanthite can use this attack twice per battle; her prior attack thrice; or each attack once. With practice, Super Acanthite may be able to curve her Rapids in front of her, however the flow of her Portcullis will always be directly away from her.

Eternal Sailor Attack: Smiting Waterfall!
Forget rapids and flowing water along the ground, with her Eternal attack, Acanthite just dumps a huge volume of water straight down on someone's head. She does not necessarily have to drop it onto someone, but the smiting waterfall only lands on an area about 2' square, plus some extra splashing where it hits the ground, so it makes a less effective barrier than her Cataract Portcullis. The water flows much more strongly, though, knocking flying objects to the ground, and trying to crush whatever is beneath it. Once placed, the water falls for thirty seconds, but cannot be moved during this duration. She can use this attack twice per battle.

Asahi Kumoru

Just a few things that need clarification:

-For the basic and Super attacks, how much area does the whitewater section cover?

-How many times can each attack be used in a battle?

-Could you please state the duration in terms of IC time instead of posting rounds? The amount of time one RP post or post round covers isn't fixed, so measuring it in that way ends up making the attack effects ICly inconsistent.

The concepts are fantastic, and the civilian is just fine, so if you cover these you should be good to go. c:

Mouse Pachinkorelli

Okay, worked out the attacks a bit better. I figure 3'x15' is a little wider than shoulder-width for Mayumi, and then about three strides long. The section of rapids is only slightly larger for her 1b attack, essentially just so the waterfall can serve to protect maybe two people if they're huddling close. The Nile cataracts are more like barriers in most places than like, actual whitewater, so I took the bits about whitewater out, to steer clear of Tethys' realm. So yeah, basically also made it clearer that Acanthite's attacks are more defensive, up until she hits Eternal and is actually dumping water on people's heads. This sound better?
