Carmela was bored.
How was she to have know that her caretaker wouldn't appreciate her trying to have some fun with the guests the other night? Sure, they had been family members, but why should that keep someone from having a good time? Even so, her..... not so subtle advances had gone over like a ton of bricks, and so today she was in the proverbial dog house. Not allowed to prowl, not allowed to swim, not even allowed to go and walk around outside. The Hytech building wasn't bad by any means - heck, by most standards it was quite nice, but right now to the caiman it was a pretty little prison. Movies, books, and computers mattered little when she would rather be out and doing things, and most of the games required other participants to even work. As for the other games....... well, solitaire and sudoku just didn't seem appealing at the moment.
Snarling angrily Carmela sprung up from her seat, tail lashing as she began to stalk the room. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if she were not alone, but somehow the normally bustling lab was bare as could be. She felt as if she could practically hear the crickets chirping in the corners of the main activity area, and as the thought ran though her head she gave a growl, running one of her hands though her hair. It wasn't nice, it was annoying, it was aggravating, but it seemed she would just have to deal with it for now.
Grumbling as she resigned herself to her fate for the day, she went to see if there was a video game she could play, secretly hoping that someone might come and relieve her case of the afternoon doldrums.

Seth was suffering no such ill fortunes as the Caiman Hyte currently was, but it had been a long while since he'd stopped by the shop and he thought it might be time to give it another visit. Worst-case scenario if the place was empty then he could simply claim a couch and catch up on some of his reading. If there was somebody unpleasant around... well, he could still probably just claim a couch and catch up on his reading.
When he entered, however, he was quick to discover that he was not in fact alone. "Good afternoon," he greeted with a smile, trying to remember if he had ever heard this particular Hyte's name. He knew she was pretty new though. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything." He was also having a bit of troubling recalling what exactly she was a hybrid of, though that point wasn't nearly so important as her name. He just didn't want to accidentally cause any offense later on if he referred to her as an alligator and she was a crocodile or visa versa. Or maybe one of the subspecies...? Well, it still didn't really matter in the end. There were plenty of Hytes whom he still wasn't overly familiar with yet.

Carmela stopped abruptly upon hearing the cheetah's voice, the only movement coming from her twitching tail as she faced away from him. Someone had come to the lab, and they were male. A sinister smile began to crawl up her face, but she smoothed it out, displaying a considerably less toothy one when she turned around to face the new comer. "Greetings," she said, finding herself pleased at the male's hyte makeup. Mmmm, that fur looked like it would be wonderfully soft.....
"Don't worry, you aren't interrupting anything; quite the opposite in fact," she drawled, gesturing to the empty area. "I was about to pick up a video game, but, ah.... that can wait now. Unless you're interested, that is?" The caiman tilted her head slightly as she posed this question, morphing her face into a hopeful expression. One had to remember to try and bring them in slowly after all, no use if they were scared off in the first five seconds.
"My name is Carmela, black caiman hyte" she said, placing her hand on her chest. "And..... yourself?"

Well, that certainly answered that unasked question. "My name is Seth," he replied back with a smile. "A cheetah Hyte. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Carmela." He didn't feel the need to specify the 'king' cheetah bit since it was really analogous to labeling yourself a blond versus a brunette. It was simply a more recessive trait was all. "If you were going to play a game then I can certainly join you. If you preferred something else though that is fine as well." It'd been a while since he'd played any games, actually, so hopefully he wasn't too rusty. If nothing else his slightly larger paw-like fingers certainly came in useful for button mashing.

"I think a game will be wonderful," the caiman hyte purred, happy that she had found a victim partner in gaming. Hips swaying as she walked over to the gaming area, she looked back over shoulder to the cheeta. "Is there any game you want to request?" she asked, "Specific? Genre? An old favorite perhaps?" With the last statement she gestured to the selection of games, turning back around to face Seth.

Seth didn't take any notice of the hip swaying as he casually padded his way over. "I'm good with anything, really. Fair warning though, I might have a small advantage with anything that requires button-mashing," he said jokingly, showing off his fairly thick fingers. "Have you played many of the games here?" He himself hadn't actually played many video games for quite a while now, but that certainly didn't mean that he didn't still enjoy them. He just had other means of occupying his time these days.

"Mmm, not many yet but I do have some experience," she said offhand to his question. "Button mashing..." Carmela put a clawed finger up to pursed lips, and soon enough her mouth was curving into a smirk. "I think I know what we might be able to do~" Tail swishing she dug around in the games for a few moments, picking up and discarding several games before coming up with three cases, spread in her right hand like a hand of cards and shown triumphantly to Seth. "A fighting game. Go ahead and pick your poison," she said, a full toothy grin shown along with a mischievous tilt in her chin.

"Oh? A fighting game, eh?" Seth replied, fairly amused. Definitely good for button mashing then. "Hmm..." Picking out one of the games, he said, "This one, perhaps? Shall I go ahead and get the tv set up for game mode while you set up the console?" He already was starting for the tv after asking, and he grabbed the remote to make the appropriate mode changes. "Would you like a drink from the kitchen or anything before we begin?" Might as well grab any of that sort of thing now before they were locked into fighting matches.

"That game will work quite well," she said, not so secretly pleased with the choice. Plenty of deadly ladies for her to choose from, even if they were mainly present to utilize the jiggle physics.
In answer to the cheetah's set up question she plucked the game out his paws, opening the case and threading her index and thumb claws through the disk's center, the game dangling from the touching claws as the rest of her fingers flared out to the side. Crouching down as her tail swished across the floor, the caiman gently set the game into the console. "There~"
"Drinks? Alcohol is always nice," she said with a toothy grin, only half joking. "Except beer. Beer is disgusting swill." Despite her love of drinks, if it was a choice of beer or nothing else, she would end up staying sober.
Standing up Carmela stalked over to the fridge, opening the door and examining it's contents critically. The ever present swill had invaded here too in a far away corner, but luckily two wine coolers were present to redeem the fridge's reputation. Grabbing one in each hand and closing the door with a flick of her tail she walked back over to cheetah, tossing him one of the drinks. "Catch!" Nothing like a bit of booze to make things a little more fun.
Grabbing a controller she plopped down on the couch, opening up the cooler and talking a drink as her thumb traced one of the controller buttons. Sip done her tongue danced over her lips, catching any stray drops it could as she gave a contented rumble.

Alcohol? That wasn't quite what he'd meant when he'd asked about 'drinks', but before the cheetah Hyte could correct the misunderstanding Carmela was already heading off to the kitchen. Whoops. While she was away Seth worked on finishing up his part of the game set-up.
"Catch!"
It wasn't too much warning, but fortunately for them both he was able to move quickly enough to catch the drink. That might have been a fairly big mess otherwise... "Ah, thank you," he said, setting aside the drink for now and grabbing a controller for himself. He'd probably stick it back in the fridge for someone else to enjoy later (though hopefully no under-aged Hytes or Clytes would happen to find it). "Looks like everything's set to go. Just need to select our characters." From there it would be a contest of button-mashing ability.
