Death Hunter DEATHSWEEPER General Information The large stone cavern with the tiled floor and large yellow smiley face is likely familiar to at least several trainees, and may even feature in a few nightmares from time to time. Welcome to Deathsweeper, the training course that may only be attempted via c-type golem, and often acts as a testing ground for the Life Division's more painful creations. Stealth and detecting imminent danger are vital for Death Hunters and anyone who has to spend extended amounts of time near Caelius. The Deathsweeper chamber is full of hidden traps that only the finest of survival instincts can survive unscathed.
If you fail: you get to once again relive the sensation of dying. Painfully and sometimes quite strangely.
If you win: you have survived stepping 5 tiles into the room. Anything further is purely for peen and bragging rights.
Mechanics roll 1 d10 check for hp loss and death decide whether or not to use your bonuses if you survive, repeat. roll list: the traps are ICly constantly changing, so feel free to get creative as to what exactly those traps are! -50% HP is off your full HP, so if you hit -50% twice, then you are 100% KO'd
01. horrible death 02. - 50% HP 03. live 04. live 05. - 50% HP 06. - 50% HP 07. horrible death 08. - 50% HP 09. live 10. horrible death
Bonus Mechanics This bonus is consumable. All participants get a flag, this flag will allow your character to notice something about the area they're stepping into. OOCly this means you can adjust your rolled number, up or down, by one point. Instinctive moves are used in the same manner as flags. These are stackable, so if you have 1 flag + 1 instinctive move, you can use them up in order to adjust your roll by two.
(If you roll a 1, you may not move your number down to 0, -1, or 10. And 10 cannot be adjusted to 1 or 11.)

Attempt OneWith her leg still healing Candace did exactly as Aria said. She was going to attempt the Deathsweeper since that was a golem and not her actual physical body. Once she was in the course she stopped to look down at herself, her eyes widening behind the mask as she pat it with her hands. A gas mask. So this was the golem they used for this course...how ******** up was that? Then again she shouldn't be surprised, should she? But it was kind of like old times. She should've invited a friend~. Candace hadn't done the original deathsweeper test during the candidate training as Epsilon Ten, so the course itself didn't really ring any bells for her. The way the golem itself did. It was almost a shame the golem's armor wasn't pink. "Alright. Time to get down to business." Candace said to no one in particular, cracking her golem's knuckles and looking down at the squares. Aria had said it was okay to make mistakes... Eenie meenie minie... Moe! She began to step out onto the first tile and stopped just before her foot touched it. No. Something felt wrong. Her body was instinctively telling her no don't you ******** dare. Candace tried the tile next to it instead. Status Step: 1 HP: 50/50 Flags: 1 Instinctive moves: 0 USING FLAG

Candace moved to wipe at her forehead in relief but only met with a mask. Right! Right. Golem. Ugh. She looked around, taking a cautious step forward. Remember, Candace. Remember. It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay... ... Nothing happened. She chuckled, giving a stupid little flex above her head. That's right. She's awesome. Three more steps to go!

Candace was done! She did it! She was just one tile away from-- What was that clicking noise? She stopped, looked down...and noticed there was no floor under her feet. No, instead there was a transparent greenish liquid under her feet. "FUUUU--" SPLASH!There was a choking shriek of agony as she reached out of the hole to free herself, only to have the tile close itself with a sudden snap. GODDAMNIT! ATTEMPT TWOOkay. So the first attempt wasn't so great. Candace could do this! She refused to accept failure. Just remember, Aria said you can make mistakes here. Here is where you can make mistakes. Candace chanted that in her head as she took that first step. Nothing happened. Oh, thank god. Status Step: 1 HP: 50/50 Flags: 1 Instinctive moves: 0

ATTEMPT 3Candace, perhaps it's time to take a break.No.That tile...it had blood on it. That was bad. Blood is bad. Blood means someone died there. Welp, time for the next one. The next tile Candace stepped on was fine, but she slipped on some still wet blood and landed on the tile beside it instead. The tile burst into flame with her golem on it. This was the worst course ever. Status Step: 3 HP: 25/50 Flags: 0 Instinctive moves: 0

This golem was so big and bulky. Why couldn't they have more agile golems for this? She tripped over one of the big boots and landed on what looked like a bed of nails. OW, damnit! Who made these courses?! Status Step: 3 HP: 50/50 Flags: 0 Instinctive moves: 0
