Kyndall was getting pretty good at this whole dusting youma thing. Or, rather, Shalott was. It was hard to keep the two identities entirely separate these days much to Kyndall's dismay. She felt them blending together in some inextricable way and feared her life might never be calm or pure again. She knew that Shalott would always be in the back of her mind when she was a civilian and that Kyndall would always plague the knight's thoughts and actions. It was impossible to be simply one or the other. She had to forever be both.
The youma snarled in front of her, tired and already a little hurt. She was tired, too, and her guard was up. She was prepared to have to fight harder to bring it down. The dog shaped thing bounded at her and she dodged to the left and tried tackling the thing as it circled, bringing itself around. They both tumbled to the side and she wrestled it down as it's teeth gnashed. She struck it across its jowls once and then again.
It was not amused, letting out a howl.
She continued to wrestle with it, her body taking a beating from the struggle and sheer weight of the thing. She was getting used to this and Camelot said she needed to work on her single person method of fighting because she wouldn't always have him around to help her. It was true and it was hard to think of now when she was wishing for back up.
She finally got the upper hand, twisting to be able to get up and off of it, leaving it on its back. She scrambled to her feet, kicking hard into its side once, and then again as it howled. She hoped no one particularly against animal cruelty was in the neighborhood to hear it considering she didn't want anyone to get hurt of call the cops on her. She stomped down on the things neck once it was subdued and watched it disintegrate into dust.
Only then did she bend at the waist and start breathing hard, trying to catch her breath.

Her signature was unlike anything he'd ever encountered. There was a shriek, a howl, and he knew it was from a youma. No animal could ever make that noise. Carnelian had strayed too close to the fight to think about turning around - he'd be spotted instantly. This woman's energy beamed like the white moon senshi's did, but hers was somehow... different. This was no time to stop and take inventory, though. The corrupted senshi's patrol route led him over here before the fight started and now that it was ending, he needed to make it out, and quickly.
Maybe she would be too winded to pursue? Too tired to even look up as he crossed the horizon? Carnelian was too nervous to think too much about it and his only option to freedom was to cross right in front of the knight. Closing his eyes, he darted out from his hiding place between the two buildings and hoped and prayed she wouldn't see him. He cursed his long coat, which made entirely too much noise for his liking. The knight would be able to sense him long before she saw him, but Carnelian was counting on her being too exhausted to do much about it.
He didn't even have anything to do with the youma! Really, they had no reason to fight, right? Surely they could all just go home and have a hot bath.

She didn't have long to catch her breath, bent over and panting. She felt her chest getting tight and sensed something not good coming this way. It felt dark, like Zinkenite, but weaker. Her eyes scanned the park to catch him coming, wondering if he was homing in on her or not.
If there was one thing the Negaverse agent had against him it was adrenaline. She was tired but had plenty of that abounding in her system. She barely felt the bruises already forming from the youma's attack. Her eyes followed the power signature and then saw the agent streaking across the space and away from her. The knight growled, thinking he'd been the one to send the damn thing out after innocent civilians and immediately gave chase.
"Hey!" She shouted, trailing after. "Stop!"
Cause, you know, it's logical for the bad guy to stop when you tell him to but she didn't think of that as she sprinted across the playground. If he was setting things like this loose on the public then he was a menace and needed to be stopped. Shalott was all over that, hating the creators as much as the pets.

Great. Just... five colors of fantastic.
Carnelian could feel her more so than see or hear her, which frightened him a bit more. Shouldn't she be winded? Shouldn't she call it a day and go home? She beat a youma fair and square! Surely she'd be at least out of breath? "Wait, I had nothing to do with that, I swear!" he shouted over his shoulder, choosing to stop suddenly and jump, landing atop the highest play structure on the playground. The corrupted senshi much preferred a higher vantage point. "We have no reason to fight, you see. We could just part ways here and go home!"
It was fairly clear to Carnelian that this lady fell into one of two types - one with logic and one without. He dearly hoped for the former. "You did a great job here tonight, didn't you? You could go home and celebrate!" He lifted his arms in a mocking gesture, hoping she'd get the hint and buzz off. He wasn't good at fighting and a battle wasn't something he wanted to engage in right now. He had energy to deliver.

She wasn't feeling as generous to let him go with a warning. An agent of chaos and one of those monsters in the same place at the same time? No way that was coincidence! She shook her head, a hard look in her eyes. She refused to believe that. And if he set that thing loose on the world it was her job to make sure he didn't do it again.
"I can't do that."
If he wasn't guilty of setting the youma lose certainly he was guilty of other things the Negaverse did. "Borrowing" energy came to mind and that was about as bad as setting out youma. Neither thing she had a particular tolerance for.
Though, of course, with the previous fight under her belt and the few scuffs, scrapes, and bruises she was sporting she wasn't in the best shape for a fight. Or, another one. Rather she wanted a hot bath and her bed. That was the sensible thing to do, she told herself. But, honestly, when was she sensible? Ever?
"Maybe you didn't have anything to do with that...that thing. But you're still up to no good." Faction profiling, really? "Have you stolen anyone's energy tonight?"

Have you stolen anyone's energy tonight?Terrible question to ask. He folded his coat closer to himself and frowned. "Now what would give you that idea, Miss? Who's to say I wasn't just out on patrol, enjoying the night air?" Carnelian lifted a hand to gesture to the sky and the few clouds that dotted it. The youma was long dead by now, its carcass decaying as they spoke. She'd made quick work of it which made the corrupted senshi very nervous. What was she? The senshi in red stayed right where he was. He wanted this green woman to remain right where he could see her. "All I ask is that we part ways amicably. There doesn't need to be any bloodshed tonight, Miss." The energy he'd harvested lay nestled in his inner coat pocket, which was something Carnelian never intended to give up without a fight. But, what if he broke a nail or something? Did whatever she was have weaponry? This whole encounter made Carnelian very nervous. He hated being on the lower end of the totem pole.

Kyndall was an optimist even at the worst of times. She wanted to believe the good in people and was usually beaten down by logic. Shalott was the exact opposite, a cynic, and did not trust anyone save those on her own team. This did not include the Negaverse agent opposite her now and though she was sore and winded she was preparing for a new battle.
"Give back the energy and we can talk about a truce."
Maybe he had some. Maybe he didn't. She had to give the offer once for her conscience and her honor's sake. But once was all she was obligated to do. If he didn't give it up, and usually they didn't, she would have to take it back by whatever means necessary. It was an awful thing and she didn't relish it but she did stick to her morals. She needed to for the sake of her sanity.
"I don't want to fight you." At least they could but agree on that. "But I will if I must."
She put herself into position to be able to attack or defend if it came to that.

Now he was getting a little miffed. Why didn't she just get the hint and buzz off like a good Order peon? And how did she know he had energy? Didn't she understand that there was hell to pay if one didn't return with their energy quota? Corrupted senshi had it worse off than Negaverse agents. Didn't this chick get the memo about this? Ugh. Carnelian visibly sighed and shook his head, hands on his hips like an annoyed mother-in-law. "Well I don't want to fight you, miss, but it seems like you'd rather mess with me than leave well enough alone. We all have a job to do and families to return to. I'm sure you understand on some level, don't you? So you'll understand why I have to do what I have to do." Raising his forearms, Carnelian called out his attack as soon as Shalott was within range. " Pain." Pain Sailor Scout Attack:Carnelian holds up his hands and looks like he's praying. He breathes the name of his attack and bands of white energy form around the target he is currently facing. There is a two second delay before the energy bands collapse and dissipate into the target, causing pain to erupt in a part of their body. The pain is much like a muscle spasm or like one's leg falling asleep - prickly and painful. These bands can be dodged because of the delay and the limited range of the attack, and allies can be hit with it. The effect wears off after one minute. He can use this twice per battle. The target can only be hit when within ten feet of Carnelian.

"And so will I." She did happen to understand the concept of having a family to return to and having one returned to her. Harm was why she did this, why she fought this fight. It was so no mother ever had to feel the way she did ever again.
Pain?
Shalott didn't feel anything immediate and by the time the rings formed it was too late to dodge them. He was a senshi? What the ********? When the rings seemed to move into her body she felt a horrible charlie horse in her leg making her grit her teeth and hindering her movement. She fumed, promising to pay him back for that one.
"Nice." but there was venom in her tone. She wanted to fight him now, to get back what was stolen or maybe just to feel like she was doing some good. She was still new to all of this, still enthusiastic. "But it won't help."
She leaped at him and hoped to tackle him to the ground. It had worked for the youma and might work for him too.

Carnelian was caught off guard. Usually his attack was enough to give time to retreat - it brought someone to their knees and he would escape into the shadows. Not this time. This green haired psychopath charged at him and managed to grab part of his coat, bringing the two of them down onto the ground. Carnelian didn't have the time nor the distance to launch another attack and he'd never tried fighting anyone hand-to-hand before. What would Euclase do? "Get off me you ugly b***h!" he shouted, trying to beat her off with punches and kicks. Hell, if he had to, he'd resort to pulling hair. Euclase was good at that! Though she was a much better fighter than he was. The energy stored in the corrupted's pocket flew out and landed nearby after the impact, glowing like a precious jewel in the grass. "Damn it!" Now what am I supposed to bring home? The captains will be so pissed!

She sighed in disgust. Ugly b***h? Such language...
"Now name calling isn't really necessary, is it?"
She threw a punch at the boy's face though she felt a pang of regret about it. This was not going to be a pretty fight as she wriggled and kicked and clawed underneath her. She watched the energy fly from his picket and land and she gave silent thanks for it. That was her goal, after all, to stop that energy from getting to wherever it happened to be headed.
All she had to do was break it.
"Just stay down if you know what's good for you."
She threw another punch his way, having leverage over him by being on top and somewhat of experience fighting. Albeit, not exactly the same way but experience. She sighed and moved to get up to crush the orb with her heel. She was pretty sure that would release it, or so it had with Benitoite.

Carnelian couldn't come up with anything better than a growl and some hair-pulling in response to Shalott's punches. One grazed his cheek and he was only able to partially dodge it out of pure luck, but the second socked him right in the face. The best he could do was attempt to slap her or claw her eyes out, but she was heavy and nothing he did seemed to work very well. The last straw was her heeled boot crushing the energy he'd taken time to collect, dissipating it into the night wind like so much dust. Dammit, now how am I supposed to report to my captains?! Carnelian slithered backwards and did his best to put distance between the two of them. He'd have to try and explain to his superiors that he was jumped by some crazy non-senshi when wild green hair that punched him in the face. What was with all the punching!? "Don't think you've won this, whoever you are." he spat, brushing some of the dirt and blood from his face. "This isn't over." And with that, Carnelian turned tail and ran as fast as he could, trying to find somewhere to power down and blend in. Then he had to contend with his bloodied face. Dammit.

"Well, it certainly looks as if I have."
She looked at the poor kid and felt a little bit of pity for him now that he was thumped and a bit bruised. She hadn't taken it very easy on him and maybe that wasn't fair of her considering her age and, well, her experience.
"For your sake it should probably be over."
But he was already off and running and she couldn't say she was sorry for that. When he learned to fight or got better powers he could be dangerous to her but for now he just wasn't. And that was ok. She hoped she hadn't hurt him enough to be lasting. All she'd wanted was the energy he gathered. Shalott consoled herself that if he'd handed it over in the first place they might have avoided this.
"Time for a hot bath and a glass of wine."
