Well, he'd done it. He'd asked a ghoul out on a date and the invitation had been accepted. Now Alex was standing outside in the late afternoon, waiting for Michi to arrive. He'd sent her a text telling her where and when to meet, and she had sent one back to say that she'd be there, but he was still nervous as he stood there, a little worried she wouldn't show.

He'd decided early on that this occasion warranted him at least attempting to be presentable, so he had grabbed one of his new shirts that he hadn't worn yet, ensuring that he was at least wearing something clean and unstained for once. He had also thrown on one of his nicer ties, black with thick red diagonal stripes and thin white ones, though he still used the skull clip as always. For pants he found a pair that at least didn't have any tears or holes, even if they weren't exactly clean, and made sure to roll the left leg down for once. He didn't wear shoes, but he at least had socks on both feet, rather then just on his skeletal one. His hair was still a thick mess of white unruliness.

Idly he pulled his phone out of his pocket to check the time. He had his backpack on the ground by his feet with his skateboard poking out through the unzipped top, ready to go as soon as Michi arrived.

If she arrived...

Oh boy, her first date at Amity! Michi was the kind of ghoul who got excited about dates. They were fun, things typically went well, and well... she just liked them. There wasn't a science behind it. There was almost a science behind getting dressed however. She donned a peach colored dress that ended mid-thigh coupled with a black blazer, matching peach high heels, and a sparkly black clutch. A simple sparkly black necklace, matching bracelet, and pins in her hair.

She checked herself a few times in the mirror before nodding to herself. Ready to go! Michi honestly almost skipped down the jacking hall on her way to meet Alex where he had stated. She had no clue where they were going or what was planned, but that was the best part. Everything was going to be a surprise. And as long as it was good, Michi loved surprises!

She darted outside, and her blue gaze landed on the tall zomboil waiting for her. He was wearing such nice clothing!! She grinned, and skipped up to him with ease despite the tall heels on her feet. At least she wasn't so short compared to him now, having grown three inches with the things.

"Hi Alexander! You look handsome!"

She was grinning, and leaned up to plant a quick, soft kiss on his cheek. Thinking almost nothing of it, because she was simply like that. She still didn't know she had stolen his first kiss. Had she known at the time she still would have done it. Michi just would have made it better.

"So where we going?"

He was just about to check his phone for the millionth time when he heard the clip of heels on the ground, and raised his head to spot Michi on her way towards him. It was a good feeling, knowing that he hadn't been ditched, but he was still incredibly nervous as the ghoul approached, but grinned at her nevertheless.

"Michi!" He greeted her, eyeing her from top to bottom approvingly, "You look, beautiful!" he beamed, his voice sincere, though he had know idea why she was craning up towards him like that..

Oh.

The kiss was soft, warm, and quick, and he had to fight the urge to reach a hand up to his cheek in surprise. He managed to keep smiling though, mentally shrugging himself off and telling himself that this is just what happened on dates and he'd probably better get used to it if he planned on having more then one (date that is, not kisses, though he wouldn't mind more of those as well).

"Well I..thought we could go for dinner first and then..well, how about I surprise you after that?" He grinned, reaching down to grab his skate board and to sling his backpack over a shoulder. "I hope it's ok that I brought this, I won't go too fast, but it'll take me forever to get anywhere without it. If you set the pace, I'll stay with you." He then pointed the direction they should go, putting his board on the ground and stepping up on it carefully before pushing off.

She beamed at him and held onto her clutch carefully. Michi was typically pretty good at holding onto the thing, but was also glad Alex had a backpack. If nothing else she'd chuck it in there at some point in the night and probably forget about it. It wasn't like she was never going to see him again (hopefully), so the smoke demoness wasn't worried in the least bit. She listened to his compliments, and lifted an eyebrow at his suggestion of a surprise. Of course she was curious at what he had planned!

"Sounds good to me Alexander." She couldn't help but wonder what he had planned even as he pulled out his skateboard and pointed in the direction they had to go. She got cracking on walking, trying to keep a good pace for him. After all, she had never seen him on that thing, so the ghoul didn't know how fast he could go! Michi stuck close to Alex, easily within reach for whatever reason. Not to catch him if he fell, or act like she was expecting him to fall, but rather because she just wanted to be by him. A date was a date after all!

((lols, time skip time! To the foodddd. ))

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alex could only really think of one place to eat, and it just happened to be the same place he had gone to the last time he'd been to the Maul. 'Dave and Busted' was not exactly his most favorite place after what happened last time he had been there, but he was hoping this time could be different, especially since he was going to be their with a demoness, which the workers might actually have some respect for.

There was an entrance to the restaurant from the outside of the Maul, and that's where Alex rolled up to with Michi still at his side, leaning back on the skateboard a bit as they got close to stop it. Though the sudden halt still made him stumble off of the board every time he did it, he was definitely getting better at keeping his feet under him and not falling flat on his face.

"I think you'll like this place. They have a pretty good menu and well..you'll see." He grinned, shuffling forward to open up the door for her.

Once inside there was the usual noise and clatter of a busy restaurant around dinner time. People were talking, the workers were moving. A familiar razor toothed face greeted him as they made there way further inside, and he was pleasantly surprised to see that it was the same hostess as last time he had been here.

"Oh hey, you again!" The hostess smiled, but then frowned a little at Michi "You brought somebody new this time? What happened to that quiet, cute boil you had with you last time?" She laughed, obviously just trying to make friendly conversation but making Alex feel a little uncomfortable.

"Um, well, he was just a friend.." he let his voice trail off as he reached up to run fingers through his mop of unruly hair nervously, then reached out to put an arm around Michi's shoulders. If the demoness was looking around, she might notice that there weren't any young children in the restaurant, mostly just teens and adults, and she might even notice some sounds and flashing lights coming from across the restaurant in a separate room, where the scarecade was located.

The hostess had grabbed them some menu's and was nodding them along. "I understand, right this way please." She smiled warmly and led them further into the restaurant to seat them at a booth along the wall, then, placing the menu's down went through the customary motions of asking them if they needed a drink. Alex declined, since he really didn't require anything, but the hostess still waited for Michi's reply before leaving.

Michi had been to the maul once thus far, but she hadn't really checked out some of the food places. Her first trip here had been about shopping, and she had run into somebody named Needle. That had been interesting, but her only other time to compare at the maul. The red skinned ghoul stepped inside when Alex opened the door for her and was quickly eyeballing the flashes going on in another area of the place. What exactly was this place? What was going on back there?

But the hostess was greeting them, and Alex slid a cold arm around her shoulders. He had been here before with a friend, and Michi couldn't help but wonder who that boil could be. She knew Alex and Mort were friends (right?), and there was that other guy from the festival. Yi... something or other. The demoness really could not remember his name for the life of her. They had barely spoken to each other, and his face had been all beat in. They were sitting down and Michi put in a quick order for some random drink off the list.

"So, who did you come with last time?" She arched an eyebrow at Alex, smile on her lips. First dates were always a good time to really get to know the person you were going with, and this marked only the third time she had spent time with the zomboil. Michi didn't know him all that well.

"And why did you come to Amity by the by?" She was curious about these basic unknown things. Small talk wasn't always the easiest thing, the smoke demoness always preferred making out, but that couldn't be done in the middle of public. Well, it could, just probably not on a first date. That just wasn't her style. He had asked her some of these things when they had met, but she had been too excited about her first day to really ask him any of these things. Oh well, couldn't go back and fix it! She glanced at the menu and eyeballed the raw meat selections while trying to keep up a conversation.

"What's good here? I love raw meat stuff, and if I remember you were eating some of it too at the festival."

Alex had also opened the menu to have a look, though he had only just eaten here not that long ago and pretty much knew the selection. Oh, Michi was talking to him, asking him questions. Better pay attention! "Hmm? Oh, uh..I drug Yin along with me not too long ago when I needed to buy some new clothes. You met him at the festival the other day." He smiled at the demoness, "He's my best friend. Even though we haven't known each other that long, we've gone through a lot together." Including two dissipations, even though during the first one they hadn't really known each other that well, and had actually been the first time Alex had met the other boil.

From the way Alex was talking, it would be quite obvious that he was quite fond of Yin, but she was asking other questions now, so he curbed his desires to gush about what a great friend Yin was and changed the subject to her new line of questioning. "Well I...I felt like it was time, I guess. There's only so much you can learn living at home with limited resources. I came to the school to learn, and to meet new people." he shrugged, it was a pretty standard reason. "It was a hard adjustment at first, going from being part of a large horde to being alone, but thankfully it didn't take long to get used to."

Back to the menu now, feeling like he'd met the conversation requirements. He'd ask Michi more about herself after he'd ordered his food. "Well...they have a pretty good meat lovers platter for an appetizer, though it's a mix of raw and cooked things. I'm getting the steak-stacker for a main course, I think..." The description was a stack of five steaks, cooked to the customers preference. He figured he could just ask for them to be warmed up, and skip the cooking business.

As he was talking, the hostess came back with Michi's drink, and informed them that the server would be by shortly. Then, giving Alex a wink and a smile, she sauntered back to her station by the door.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 29, 2012 8:06 pm

Yin, that had been that boil'a name. That's right. She blinked a few times, but smiled at Alexander as he seemed to have warmth in his voice when it came to speaking on Yin. Best friends, she had heard about those elusive creatures before, but had never had one herself. It just had never... happened.

Michi did in fact, notice the server winking at Alex. She looked at the woman blandly, and then at Alex with a bit of a smirk on her lips. Oh this was interesting. The woman was more... full figured than Michi, but older none the less. She grinned and wriggled her eyebrows at Alex.

"Got a lady friend here, is it?" She was teasing of course, considering they were on a date. It was just easier for Michi to do such a thing. The red skinned ghoul felt comfortable around Alex, even in this setting. She paused to look over the menu, only to decide to get what he was. The steak-stacker perfectly raw, that would be wonderful.

"That sounds really good actually." It wasn't long at all until their server showed up, a simple unassuming male who looked rather bland compared to the hostess. Michi didn't have any problem with that at all. At least (hopefully) he wouldn't be winking at Alex while taking their order.

"And what shall we be having this evening?"

"I'll be having the steak-stacker, raw please. And I think the meat lovers platter for the appetizer..." Michi didn't wait for Alex to order because it was just like her to bull into a situation like this. She was smiling though, tilting her head to the side while gazing at her date, and waiting for him to order. The server also turned his bland attention to the zomboil to wait for his order. After that the man would whisk off and leave the two of them alone.

"I think I told you before that I don't have any siblings. I don't even have any cousins my age. It's really hard to imagine a horde of people around me at any given time. How many are in your horde back home?"

It was interesting, how differently Alex's life had been from her own. Growing up alone with her mother looming over her, and her father gone for most of her life. Jack, she hadn't even seen her father in the last three years and before that he had only stopped by for a few days between jobs. Could she even remember his face? Not that she honestly cared.

Alex smirked when the hostess winked at him and just shook his head, looking down at the table then back up to Michi. "I dunno, the staff here are a little...weird. She seems nice enough though but..ah, just don't trust the staff here, that's all I can say."

He shifted his gaze to the waiter when he arrived, eyeing him up and down. It wasn't the same one he had last time he had been here, which was good, and this one seemed to lack any type of attitude whatsoever.

Double good.

"I'll get the same!" He said, happily handing over his menu, and thinking that it would be nice to have a meat platter all to himself this time. Not that he had minded sharing it with Yin, of course, but the weremantis had run the risk of getting his fingers bitten off in Alex's feeding frenzy. After that, he turned his full attention back to Michi, propping his elbows up on the table with one hand covering a fist.

"I can't imagine what it might have been like being an only child. I mean, in a way for me it might have been nice. My sisters tortured me from the time they could walk.."

Michi had asked a good question, and Alex had to think about it for a minute before replying. "Well, my immediate family is My parents, me, my three sisters and my brother. On top of that I have four aunts and four uncles, and I think about...23 cousins?" that didn't even cover the rest of the extended family, these were just the ones who lived at or close by Alex's home, and he told Michi as much.

"It can be a lot of fun, but it can also be a bit of a pain." He sighed, still smiling. "So, what's it like being an only child? What does your family do?" Might as well ask some questions himself if he was going to be interrogated all throughout dinner time.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 29, 2012 11:13 pm

That... that was a lot of people in a single family. Michi couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the number of cousins Alex had. That was a lot of people. No wonder he called it a horde!! So many people, she probably would have been a very different demoness if she had been raised with that many other people. But she was fine with who she was, so it wasn't like she wished she had siblings. At least not anymore.

"My mother is a very strict, old school demoness from old money. She does something or other that isn't super important, like real estate or something, but mostly to look busy and seem good." Michi hated her mother. Her life growing up had been rather cold, and yes lonely, but she didn't want to dwell on that.

"My father works very hard, to the point where I only see him every couple of days. He's constantly off working on... well, I'm not sure there either to be honest. I really don't know my family well, and I'd rather keep it like that."

It was almost sad really. Michi knew almost nothing about her own father, didn't like her mother, and couldn't recall the names of her own cousins or what type of halloweener their mother was. No one spoke to anyone else on a regular basis, and everyone just did what they wanted as long as it wasn't a stain on the family name. She was about to say more but the waiter returned with their meat lovers platter, and whisked himself away just as quickly.

"Honestly, I just spent a lot of time by myself growing up. It's really weird to hear about that many kids running around. I have a pair of twin cousins, big boils with more muscles then brains. I honestly don't know their names, I've only seen them at a few family things, and when my mom asks them to move things around the house.... but she's kinda the head of the Yuu family name, so everyone listens to her."

Which meant that Michi was to be the next head of the Yuu family when her mother retired from it all. It was not a job Michi was looking forward to. Ugh. Bossing people around was fun from time to time, but dealing with everything else was not her forte. Michi snagged some various raw meats from the platter and promptly ate them. Most of them were good, but she did scrunch her face up with one. What the hell had that one been???

"Do you talk to your family a lot being here? What kind of lady is your mom?"

Alright, she was a bit curious about his family. After all, she only had the stuffy, strict demons who lived in her neighborhood to compare her mother to... and they were all alike. Stupid old people.

Alex nodded along with Michi's words, listening intently to her account of what life was like growing up with barely any family around at all. He found it hard to imagine what it could have been like, having parents who sounded like they were workaholics, and barely ever home because of it. He might have looked slightly sad, just thinking about it, but he unclasped his hand from around his fist, and reached out to put his hand on top of the demon ghouls with a smile, rubbing a thumb along the back of it. This was a date, after all, so this would be allowed...right?

Suddenly the waiter was there, putting down the appetizers and moving along without a comment or a smile.

Good.

Alex immediately drew back his hand from Michi's and eyed the food hungrily. He reached forward and grabbed some select peices of meat, trying to mix in plenty of raw with the cooked, and proceeded to stuff his face. He was slightly more careful then usual about trying not to get drips of blood from the meat onto his shirt, but that required him to eat more slowly then he normally might, to chew his food carefully before swallowing, and to grab a napkin to wipe his face between handfuls of food. This was really the most polite and restrained he'd ever been, and it was a bit of a struggle for the poor zomboil. But he really didn't want to mess things up on his first date ever by being a total slob...so he was just half of one instead.

After swallowing down a mouthful of meat, he paused. She was asking him a question, while there was food at the table. That meant he had to actually stop eating, so that he could answer the question.

"Well, I uh..." Damn but that food was distracting!

"I talk to my mom a lot..she gave me an eyephone just before I came to school so I could keep in contact. My family is pretty self sufficient. All the adults work, they all help each other out with money. The boils hunt, the ghouls do things closer to home. It's like...almost like..a...a.." Oh Jack the food. He wanted to eat more! "Like a colony?" He couldn't help himself any more, he grabbed himself another fist full of meat to shove into his mouth, hoping she didn't mind too much, and finishing that off before he spoke again.

"My mom is great. She takes care of everything, she's funny, she's a fantastic cook!" He quite obviously had strong feelings for his mom. "She's intelligent and strong, she's like the glue that holds our family together." He smiled warmly, then proceeded to grab at some more of the food.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 30, 2012 12:10 am

He reached out and touched her hand, one cold thumb sliding over the back of her own warm hand. The difference in heat was almost startling, but she gave Alex a soft smile in return. Yes, perfectly acceptable on a date! She just didn't have the long arms he did... or she had forgotten while speaking about families. One or the other. Did it matter?

And then the food arrived, and Alex proceed with the messiest eating method that Michi had ever seen in her life. But there was something a little off about it all. Something she couldn't quite place... and she gave a little chuckle while she ate another piece of meat.

"You know Alexander, I won't mind. You can eat like you normally do." And the smile she was giving him while she said this was probably unlike anything she had ever done before. It was broad, sweet, with pure joy dancing in her clear blue eyes. She thought it was cute that he was trying to hold himself back from whatever it was zombies did while they eat ( she had heard that gossip from her mother about somebody she was working with once), and frankly if her mother hated it then it should be happening. Now.

"Your mom... sounds wonderful," Michi didn't even have any jealousy in her mind, and the next part she said rather bluntly. "I hate my mother, and my mother hates me. She's everything I hope I never become, and I am the biggest disappointment in her life. It all works out rather nicely actually. I'm having the time of my life right now, having a wonderful date with a handsome boil. I'm glad I came to Amity, so I could meet you."

Alright, Michi was laying it on thick. But this is what she did. She'd eat several more pieces, picking them up carefully with her own bare hands and wiping her fingers off on a napkin. Rather dainty compared to Alex, but she'd watch him eat (even if he hadn't changed his method) with a smile on her face. Her mother would hate this so much!!!

Permission to eat like he normally would? Really? He blinked at the ghoul incredulously. He would end up with stains all over his shirt, he would have blood stains around his mouth, down his chin, under his nails...he would probably chew with his mouth open or just swallow things while barely chewing them at all. It would be a complete and utter feeding frenzy.

And she was telling him to do it?

He smiled at her, fairly certain she had no idea what she was asking for. But it was a date, and a ghoul should get what a ghoul wants on a date, right? (and of course, it wasn't like it was almost painful for Alex to be as restrained as he was already or anything >_>) So, without further consideration towards her request, he dug in. Literally. He was now scooping up handfuls of food in both hands and bringing it to his face to nom it down noisily. He still attempted to lean forward so that it would drip on the napkin lying on the table in front of him rather then on his shirt, but the odd droplet still stained the white of his collar here and there as he continued on.

All conversation from the zomboil at this point would cease as he attacked the platter of food with enthusiasm. He was still listening to her, somewhat at least. He heard what she said about hating her mom but decided that he couldn't believe that to be entirely true and just words spoken in anger by a rebellious teenage ghoul. After all, how could anybody possibly hate their mother? Mothers were the best thing ever!

It wasn't long before the tray in front of Alex was empty of everything except a puddle of cold blood, and he let out a loud belch.

"Um...excuse me.." he muttered, grabbing at the napkin to mop up the mess on the table, then grabbing one more to wipe at his face. He smiled a little ashamedly. "You did tell me to to eat like I normally would"

Oh wait, what else had she said? She had called him handsome! And told him she was glad she got to meet him. That was rather sweet of her! He beamed, still wiping at his face, his hands, his shirt collar with the napkin. It looked like he was probably going to need another one.

"I'm glad I met you too, Michi. You're not like any ghoul I've ever been around." Was that supposed to be a compliment? He considered it to be one, at least.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 30, 2012 12:43 am

That sure... didn't take long for him to switch over!! Michi giggled silently, and instantly thought of her mother at the table with them. Ah, how wonderful that would have been. She was grinning by the time Alex was mopping himself up with a napkin.

"Of course I did. Do you think I'm the kind of ghoul who wants you to be uncomfortable on a date? Dates should be fun!" She reached out without hesitation and grabbed his hand again to give a little squeeze. Extra blood or not. "I like being original, it's better than being like everyone else."

Indeed, Michi took that as a very high compliment. She liked being true to herself, and didn't let anyone else's rules or regulations hold her down. Why should Alex not act like himself in front of her? Boils were so silly sometimes.

"Never be anything but yourself Alexander. That's how I go about life, and I'll be honest when I say I don't understand when people try to be something uncomfortable, or what they're not. If people don't like you that way, then they're not worth knowing!" When did this become a pep talk? She laughed slightly and squeeze his hand again, not planning on letting go any time soon. It felt nice, her hand in his. She liked holding hands with boils, snuggling with them, kissing them. Ah, that gave her an idea!

Michi did let go at that point, but instead she hopped up onto her feet and walked around to the other side of the booth. A simple hand motion told Alex to scoot over on the booth so she could sit beside him. This would be a lot better! She'd be able to lean against him and be rather (phyiscally) close to him instead of trying to awkwardly reach across the table with her rather short arms.

"This'll be better!" If he moved, she'd promptly sit down and scoot towards him so they would be touching. If not, well she'd handle that if it happened.

Wow, she wasn't at all upset with him being a complete and utter slob! In fact..she actually seemed to like it. That was rather impressive, in a way, though he did raise an eyebrow at her as though to say "are you ******** crazy?" before she reached over and grabbed a hold of his still very bloodstained hand.

Yep, she was a little crazy alright. Alex really knew how to pick em.

"Ok." he agreed with her, simple as that. He would always be himself, and if people didn't like it or couldn't deal with it, they could could just pick a hell and go straight to it.

He frowned when she let go of his hand and scooted out of her seat to walk around the table towards him. Did she need him to show her the bathroom or something? Oh wait, she was gesturing for him to move over.

Ohhhhhhh.

Alex scooted himself towards the wall without any hesitation at all. She wanted him to move, so he moved, and then waited for her to sit down next to him. He wasn't so sure about this, honestly. She was rather warm..almost hot actually, and while he didn't mind the odd hug or hand hold or quick cuddle, she was now going to be right next to him for the rest of the dinner, which might become slightly uncomfortable, not only for him, but for her as well.

Nevertheless, he assumed that things were to be expected of him, so he lifted an arm to wrap around her shoulders, allowing her to cuddle in as much as she wanted really.

It wasn't long before the waiter was back, carrying their entree's, with another waiter behind him to clear their appetizer trays.

Alex locked eyes on the second waiter.

This one, he rememebered.

He remembered the snide comments, the dirty looks, the rudeness. He remembered the laughter when Alex had bailed out of his chair to hide on the floor beneath the table. He remembered, and his eyes narrowed.

The waiter never even glanced his way, however, when he grabbed the trays and hurried on his way, and the other waiter, their waiter, placed the trays of food in front of them, two plates stacked tall with slabs of steak.

"Enjoy." He said quietly before silently sliding off.
