Xiu was cute. Xiu was really cute. A lot of people liked her. Especially Roch and Shun. She was popular with ghouls too, even Danny liked her ghoulish charms.
So she was the perfect teacher for Danny. This was really awkward though, wasn't it. Danny'd never had to ask anyone a question quite like this. You didn't just walk up and ask people about it after all.
Then again, that was exactly what she was doing, wasn't it. Xiu's room in the demon dorm was a tad far away from Danny's, but it was manageable. The fire demonness rapped heavily on the door, waiting for an answer. Hopefully Xiu would be in. "Xiuuuu," she called out, waiting for the bouncy little ghoul to answer the door. Please be in. Pleaseeee.

Xiu had been completely absorbed in her textbook, brows furrowed as the took in as much information as she could. Studying was not at all a fun task...but alas, it had to be done. Propping her head up with her hand, she tapped her pencil against the book as her eyes skimmed through the text. Fear...pumpkins...healing...
Though she had missed the knock on her door, the baku certainly heard the call. Jolting, the pencil clattered against her desk as she dropped it, hurrying to her feet. "Coming!" That was strange, though--who could it be? She didn't remember anyone telling her that they'd swing by today.
The little baku was surprised to find Danny standing behind the door, her eyes widening for a moment before her surprised expression quickly faded into a friendly one. Beaming up at the fire demoness, she lifted a hand to wave. "Hi, Danny! What can I help you with? And...oh! Um, please come in!" Pushing the door open a little wider, she stepped aside to invite the other ghoul inside.

Jack she really was precious. Danny patted the ghoul's head amiably. She was so tiny too! Then again, it could've just been that Danny was tall. Yeah, it was probably that.
Inviting herself in, Danny followed Xiu's instructions and walked in the dorm. She didn't really have to beat around the bush, considering she knew the ghoul ... somewhat well enough. "I have a sort of weird question to ask." Weird indeed.
Danny's hands clasped together behind her back and she wiggled a little. This was such a weird question. One that she'd never thought about before. Thinking about Rikki though, perhaps it wasn't so odd. Clearly he was looking for something that she was not. "Can you teach me how you ... be ghouly?"

The baku stared up at Danny with a puzzled expression at the headpat, but she said nothing, simply giving a slight wag of her tail. She tilted her head to the side in curiosity when the demoness announced that she had something to ask--something weird, apparently. What could it be?
Xiu didn't have to wait long to find out. Indeed, the request made her pink eyes widened slightly, and then this was followed with a slight frown. "...Why? I...I mean I could, I suppose," Xiu didn't use makeup or any of that stuff, but she did wear a lot of dresses and small hair accessories, "But...I don't understand. What's wrong with how you are right now?"
She seemed genuinely confused. Honestly, the baku quite liked Danny--she was fun to be with, and though her outfits were not something that Xiu herself would wear, she always thought that they looked pretty cool. So why would she suddenly want to learn how to be ghoulier?

Danny smiled warmly at the ghoul and said, "Um. I-I don't think I'm good enough like this?" She gestured down to her bad posture and high top converse. A frown creased her face. Her mind flitted back to Rikki's harsh, exhausted tone calling her stupid, but she quickly pushed that from her mind.
"I mean. Most guys like ghouly ghouls, right?" she said, mostly musing for herself now. After all, everyone really liked Xiu, Lizzy and Edel and they all oozed ghouliness. Was it wrong if she wanted to emulate someone?
Besides, with her now-shortened hair, she was looking more boilish than ever. If it weren't for her ... choice of outfit, people might've really thought she was a boil. Rikki didn't want to date a boil, he wanted to date a ghoul. Someone pretty. Someone like Edel.
Awkwardly, she added, "If ... it means anything, its for a boil."

...Just what was going on? The baku's tail drooped at the fire demoness' words, and she emitted a slightly meek, "But I like you as you are." Of course, there must have been some kind of reason for Danny to request this help from her--Xiu always thought that she seemed so confident in herself and happy, so if she came to ask her this favour...
Ah, so it was about a boil. Xiu couldn't help but frown a little at this, and she opened her mouth to speak--undoubtedly to say something along the lines of "he doesn't deserve you if you have to change everything about yourself for him"--when she promptly clamped her mouth shut. No, that didn't seem like a wise thing to say--what if she really, really liked him? Wouldn't she just be indirectly insulting, not only the boil, but Danny as well?
Looking troubled, the baku toyed with her hair, absentmindedly rubbing strands between her index finger and thumb. "I...I mean, I could give you a few tips on how to act a little more feminine but..." She turned to look up at the ghoul, her expression uncertain. She didn't want the fun, cheerful ghoul that she knew to turn into some stuffy lady. "You do know that not all guys like ghouly ghouls, right? Some, maybe, but definitely not all."

Xiu was starting to confuse her. All guys she had met liked ghouly ghouls. They liked short skirts and long pretty hair (which, Danny now lacked as well, so she was down one from the start).
She decided to just push it out of her mind. This was getting far too confusing. Stick to the original plan, that sounded good.
"So what do I do?" Danny asked, skipping over Xiu's question. "To be ghouly I mean." She looked around for a place to sit, but hesitated. Her tail was always going to be a problem at this school, wasn't it.

Cupping her cheek with her hand, Xiu frowned up at Danny, her expression both thoughtful and hesitant. While she still wasn't sure about this..."...I guess...a dress? Hair accessories? I could lend you both of those--I have a fair bit of both. They should fit you, but since I'm shorter, they...might be a little short for you."
And of course, since most of her dresses were variations of different qipao dresses...that meant that some of the side slits would go up especially high for Danny. But er...hopefully that wouldn't matter too much?
"The dresses won't be comfortable though, especially if you're not used to wearing something form-fitting. I might have some looser ones too, though." As she spoke, she began to dig through her closet, the only thing poking out being her tail. It swished back and forth at a slow, steady pace, before Xiu suddenly emerged back out from the closet with about half a dozen dresses draped over her arms.
"I, ah, are you sure about this? I mean, you shouldn't force yourself to wear anything you're uncomfortable with."

Danny attempted not to cringe at dresses. The operative word was "attempt," because she was clearly failing. It was no secret that Danny wasn't a fan of dresses, especially form-fitting ones.
But alas, she would do whatever it took. She wanted to be likeable, someone worth staying at Amityville for. "O-Okay," she said as Xiu explained, "[color-orangered]Just so me what to do?"
As Xiu went into the closet, Danny waited anxiously for her return. When the ghoul DID return, she was less than pleased. Dresses coated the ghoul's arms. It was like a dress arsenal. Oh well, she could do this.
"No, I'm sure," she said nodding. She wasn't, but what did that matter anyways?

No, Danny clearly wasn't at all comfortable with what she was about to do, but now Xiu wasn't sure whether she should help the demoness find a dress, or help her realize that she didn't have to do this, or...or...
Maybe she could just...do both? Dumping the dresses onto her bed, Xiu scanned them carefully before she picked two out of the batch, holding them up for Danny to see. "U-um, choose the one that you li--" She paused and then amended herself. "The one that you dislike less."
There was a short pause, and then she cleared her throat. "Danny, the boil...are you sure that this is what he would want? Are you sure that he wouldn't just...like you as you are?" More importantly: was this really worth changing herself and making herself uncomfortable?

Danny looked at the two dresses. The one on the right was longer, so Danny's eyes instantly chose the one on the left ... but ... Considering the fact that her tail was a bit of a challenge to maneuver around the clothing with the slit so short ...
No, it was probably better to take the longer one.
Of course, long wasn't exactly ... long on Danny. The slit still rode up, and you could see quite a bit more. Danny stood awkwardly in front of Xiu. Was she doing this right? What are dresses even.
"I'm sure," she said confidently. Rikki had already called her stupid once. There were bound to be other secrets he was keeping to himself about her visage. It was clear he didn't like her as she was now ... so she needed to change that.

...Oh, okay. That...that was a little shorter on Danny than she thought it would be. Xiu eyed the side slit uncertainly before clearing her throat. "I mean, if you're...worried about it being too high, you could wear safety shorts underneath?" That's what Xiu did with all her dresses, but when she wore a qipao, the slit never went up that high, so her shorts were actually covered. But in Danny's case...
W-well, she still looked nice, though? It was just odd seeing the ghoul in a form-fitting dress.
Moving towards the couch, she leaned down and pat the seat, indicating that Danny should sit down. Maybe she would have a hair clip or something that could go with the dress. As she went to root in the jewelry box that sat on her desk, the baku hummed softly to herself. "I...I see. But...but are you happy about having to change yourself?" She sifted through her various hair clips and decorations, pulling out a couple to inspect them more closely, "Would you be able to keep this up?"
Xiu knew for a fact that she would fail miserably if she tried to put up a tomboy or a tough act. For a few days, maybe, but for longer than that?

"Safety shorts? What are ... safety shorts?" Danny said with a confused look on her face. Her shorts had never saved her before, so she couldn't really understand the concept anyways.
Xiu's questions were starting to grate on her. She really didn't want to think about why she was doing the things she was. She just HAD to. There was no need to make it complicated with wants and desires.
All she did was nod and say, "Of course" as an answer to both questions. Whether or not her heart was really in the answer was anyone's guess.

"Oh, er, I mean..." The baku shifted her weight from foot to foot, suddenly looking a little uncomfortable, "If you're worried about, say, someone seeing your underwear or something..." After all, the dress' slit really did end up extremely high for Danny. All it would take would be for something to snag the fabric, and then the demoness would have flashed (well, with something on underneath, at least) everyone in the vicinity.
She said nothing at the short answer, simply moving towards the couch and perching up on the back. "Could you sit down, please? I found something to put in your hair that might look nice with the dress." She stared down at the flower clip that she held in her hands, turning it over absently as she frowned.
Well, while Xiu may have not been entirely pleased with this...a favour was a favour, and she wasn't going to turn Danny down. She supposed that all that could do was wait and see how things panned out, then.

If Danny was worried about underwear, her attire certainly wouldn't be that of swimsuits and ridiculously short shorts. No, she was definitely beyond the point of caring about her underwear being seen. If Danny had her way, no one would wear clothing. It would just be so much more comfortable!
Danny gave Xiu an odd look. Put something ... in her hair? Her long, tan arms reached up to pat her hair. No, it was definitely still short and boilish. Was Xiu joking with her? Errr ....
"Xiu ... how is my hair going to hold anything?" she asked timidly. Maybe her hair supplies were magic. Maybe that was how she was so cute? Was Xiu using FEAR to hold her hair up so cute-like?
She did as she was ordered though. Following the Baku ghoul's orders, she sat down on the couch. It was a bit difficult considering this dress didn't want her to move at all, but she managed. Sort of. Okay, not really. This dress was unbearable. How did Xiu do this every day?
