Alexandre's script sat on the dinning room table, already opened to the first page in preparation for the evenings plans. Lily was out at her parents, leaving him to the house alone save for the doc. Sitting on the table also, seated on little slips of fabric were two drinks. One was a mug of hot chocolate for his quest while the other was a bottle of flavored water for himself.
One every page the script was highlighted, in purple, over his name so he knew which lines he had. He'd gone over that the previous night, marking every line he had so he knew what to read and memorize. It wouldn't do to read into someone else's lines, by accident of course, and memorize it as well. Hopefully this would go well, and he and Johnathan would learn some lines tonight and get the acting part down a bit even; if they were lucky.
Already he was nervous with this whole thing, he had not been planning for the lead role and now he had it, he had never been in a play before and hadn't a clue about this theater and acting thing to be honest. Costumes also had him nervous and a bit worried, what would they be sticking him in? But he also didn't want to look like a fool, even if he might feel like one.
Socked feet moved across the kitchen floor as Alexandre went to retrieve the plate of cookies, baked by his mother and picked up yesterday when it hadn't been snowing so hard as it had before and afterwards. The cookies, oatmeal and chocolate chip with dried bits of cherry in them were set onto the table also. Might as well make it something relaxing, rather then tense and nerve wracking. So the drinks, cookies, he'd even thought of scented candles or burning some oils to help calm himself further. But in the interest of not making it seem like something it wasn't, or going too far in setting a calming atmosphere, he had not done so.
"Now for him to show up." He spoke to himself as he moved about the house, almost pacing but he didn't move back and forth. Alexandre moved all around.

THWUMP
One Johnathan Miller had successfully baked a lovely Dutch apple pie for his play-partner-person and successfully remembered to highlight his parts in the play and remembered to put the script in his ninja backpack before heading on out to Alex's place. Alex had the lead role which meant he was extra more special than everyone else, so of course his job was the most stressful. Therefore, Johnny baked him a pie to help ease the no doubt incredible amount of stress sitting on the boy's shoulders.
Now that Johnny had followed the directions on foot to Alex's apartment, he had smashed himself against the glass window, holding the pie high above his head to keep it from crumbling. He'd nearly been mugged twice for the precious baked good on the way over, but luckily, Johnny was good at running and hiding. This is what made him late. Whether or not Alex believed him was another story entirely.
"Alex! Aleeeex! I brought pie and script n I highlighted all the 'portant parts Aleeeeeex! Alex do you know how many hobos live on your side of town?!"

It seemed someone didn't notice the doorbell, oh well. Shaking his head as he heard the thump against the window. Pulling the curtains aside, even as he heard the others choice he held up a finger; indicating he'd let him in in a moment. Going to the front door of the townhouse he opened it and allowed him in. "Pie?" The other had either baked or bought, most likely baked since so many stores were closed.
"No, I can't say I'm aware of how many...hobos are around. I've never thought to count." Or track them down and keep track of them. No, it wasn't something he'd ever done or had any plans on doing in the near or far off future. "Come in, I made you hot chocolate, it is cold out and I didn't know if you liked tea or coffee. There are also cookies on the table, my mother made them."
Finally he glanced over the other properly, even as he went to shut the door behind the other. "You found the house ok, right?" He'd tried to make his directions as easy and direct as possible, unlike map quest which liked to take a person the long way to their destination.

"Oh boy hot chocolaaaate!"
That was definitely the light at the end of the tunnel. Johnny was decked out in winter wear, but it was all black. This, coupled with his I'm a ninja so you can't see me backpack and the fact that he was in all black, carrying a pie made him look utterly ridiculous and out of place. He smiled warmly around the thick scarf tied about his shoulders. "Oh, yeah, a pie! Who doesn't love pie? Since you got the lead role n everything and you were nice enough to invite me over to your place to practice, I baked you a pie!" His grin widened to a beaming beacon as the boy looked for a place to set it down.
Once the pie was secure on the countertop, Johnny whirled about and attempted to remove some of his outerwear. "Yeah, you won't believe how many times I nearly got mugged for the pie. I guess it smelled really good but I can run faster than the hobos. Sorry I'm late!" His scarf took a good five minutes to untie and then the boy fumbled his highlighted script out of his small backpack. His lines were highlighted in a rainbow of colors and the script was slightly smashed, but considering in whose care it was, the script was practically pristine.

He'd been right, it had been baked. Sniffing the air, which smelled heavily of apple pie he pointed toward the kitchen, "Come on, I'll cut us both a slice." And as he stepped into the kitchen the boxed pie was set onto a counter top while Alexandre hunted down a knife to cut it with. It seemed he had to wash it, as it was in the sink. Rather than run the dishwasher, which would take too long, he went to wash it by hand while being mindful of the blade.
"If you want to grab some ice cream or whip cream to go with it help yourself." Jerking his head toward the fridge. "Oh, and your hot chocolate is in the living room on the coffee table. You should probably get that before it cools too much." He didn't mention the lack of milk, or marshmallows. He knew some people took it with milk while other people didn't, same went for marshmallows, so he'd decided that in order to be safe he'd leave both out and allow Johnathan to add whichever he preferred, or both if he liked both.
"It's ok to be a bit late, you can't be on time for everything." He said with a slight shrug of his shoulders . "I wasn't aware we had such people around here though, this isn't a neighborhood I'd expect such a thing in." Which was true, they weren't in one of the more neglected parts of the city. On the contrary it was a nice area of Destiny City. "I am glad you were able to escape them however. It does smell good, that is surely why they went after you."

Alexandre should have known better than to feed someone already hyper! Johnny licked his chops like a wild animal at the thought of ice cream and pie and hot chocolate, all of which contained sugar. He'd really have to concentrate to keep it all together to even begin working on his lines. In a fury of movement, Johnny had fixed himself a plate of delicious pie and ice cream and kicked off his shoes to some suddenly designated area and bounced off to the living room to seat himself and eat. It was a wonder he had a napkin.
"Wow Alex, you live here? This is a nice place. But you're young, arentcha? I mean, you're older than me but out on your own like this? This'ss crazy!" he commented, munching away on pie. It was still warm (another great reason that he pretty much ran the whole way over here) and chewy in all the right places. If there was anything Johnny could do decently, it was cook. Oh, and clean.
The script was forgotten in his backpack for now, but with prompting, Johnny would happily go grab it. "I hear we get costumes and everything, Alex! Can you believe that? You're the king, right? So you get a crown and a court and maybe even a cardboard castle! That'd be awesome!" The blue haired boy silently wondered if those plush ponies on sticks would be part of the production, because those were super cool. And what knight-slash-king didn't have a stable full of plus horses on sticks?

He might know better, and he did, it was a simple matter of manners. The other had come to his home, his and Lily's, and brought pie which he'd baked himself. As snobbish as he was he was also just as polite, especially when he was trying. So it with surprise, but dread, that he watched Johnny make himself at home. Leaving his slice of pie waiting he went to place the shoes by the front door before returning to the kitchen. A little ice cream went with his pie, and even a dusting of fresh nutmeg, before he went to the living room with a napkin as well. The pie was closed up, sitting pushed back on the counter top. Lily could have a slice when she got home, she was likely to enjoy it.
Laughing he shook his head. "I'm 16, not quite 17 and I live here with a friend of mine who's older. She's all but my sister so it's not my place. To be quite honest it was her parents who bought the place and she who kidnapped me from my parents so I could live with her." He didn't mention under what terms she'd deemed him in need of a kidnapping. He wasn't going to go into the state of his mind, schedule, and over all life at the time. That was past and he was doing better, he was even back to being comfortable fighting.
Taking a seat he watched the other eat, he seemed a very happy and enthusiastic person. Someone likeable, to many, who would likely somehow have made friends with everyone by the end of the play. Though he did suspect Kyndall might have bald patches by the end as well.
"Of course, to fit the play we'll need costumes." Nodding his head as he took his first bite of the pie, ice cream partially melted but still a nice cool contract to the warm pie. Oh! It was good, and he might just have to have another slice sometime later in the day, maybe with dinner...whatever he planned for that later. "Yeah, Aurthur was the King. I'm not sure about the court or the castle but I'm sure they'll have a crown. I'm hoping I just remember all these lines and don't make an absolute fool of myself." He'd already likely feel foolish but to actually make a fool of himself, in front of other people? That would be a nightmare, of sorts, come true. "What do you think of the part you got?"

Johnny stopped mid-munch to ponder Alex's question. What did he think of Galahad? Well, from what he'd read in the script, Galahad was a good knight with a pure heart and all that jazz, and he was stoic and kind of boring. But then again, anything not going nine thousand miles an hour was boring to the blue haired teen. Johnny chewed the rest of his pie thoughtfully. "He's definitely not like me, that's for sure! Miss Kyndall thought I did a good job with the pure heart and all that. Mom's glowing keychain." A wink. "But she said I was too dramatic..." Air quotes. "...so I have to learn to think of something super serious like a test or having to fold laundry so I don't start laughing in the middle of my lines. I don't think she'd like that."
Puffing out his chest, Johnny put on his best determined face. "But I'm gonna make her proud, Alex! I am. It'll be great. I've been practicin' in front of the mirror too, and now I don't dance too much when I clean the kitchen. More practice!" Johnny triumphantly pumped his fists in the air and smiled. Then he realized that they were supposed to be practicing their lines and he sheepishly sat on his hands. "Anyway, I gotta learn to control my.. uh... how'd she put it? Dramatic outbursts. Or something like that. But that's why they call it acting! You hafta be somebody you're not and look convincing. That's the hard part."
Screwing up his face, he continued. "So I gotta be quiet and reserved and strong-willed and... whatever else Miss Kyndall wrote down. She's a super nice lady! I got to see her in her office after the auditions and I nearly took a chunk outta her desk with my teeth! I fell. Really hard. Felt the wind rush past my face but now I don't have that costume anymore so I'm not tempted to wear it again." Johnny rocked back and forth and drew his hands out to push two index fingers together.

His fork held aloft as he listened to the other. He could see that, the other being too crazy and needing to think of serious things. He'd noted, when everyone had been trying out, that he other had indeed been dramatic and high energy. So he wasn't surprised by what Kyndall had said, her request. "No, I don't think she'd would. Do you think you'll be able to manage that?" He asked, if need be he'd try and help the other stay serious. He didn't want Kyndall becoming upset, or stressed. He was sure she was already stressed and there was no need for her to become further stressed out if he could try and help, even if she didn't know it.
'It is, it's why acting isn't something I've ever been involved in previous to this. I don't find acting like someone else to be that easy a thing." Though he should, didn't he act every evening? No, not really. He was himself then just as he was here now. It was just...another side? His personality showing itself more? One would think he should be good at acting though, but he wasn't. He was nervous and in need of as much practice as he could get in, it would help calm his nerves and give him the confidence he needed to do this.
"She is nice, and she wrote down what you need to be? Do you have that with you? Perhaps we can work on that while we work on our lines. I would like to help you, if at all possible." Oh how he wanted to wince, the mental image of falling into a desk and nearly taking a chunk out of it with his teeth. That really sounded painful.
"I think we should work on lines, and on your energy. We can meet up until performance night, whenever we're both free. If that's to your liking." It wouldn't be good if Johnathan slipped on performance night and got hurt, or got hurt before hand and couldn't perform. "Maybe some tea, or something to calm you down before hand even...?" He ventured, wondering if that might help.

"Aww Alex, you're so nice to me. Why is that?" The rather addled young man blinked at his companion with wide blue eyes. He liked Alexandre a great deal (and with the same heartfelt enthusiasm with which he liked everyone) but Alex had been especially patient with him. Miss Kyndall on the other hand looked like she was about to blow a gasket... Johnny felt bad about that, but vowed to work extra hard to please everyone and show them he wasn't the terrible, terrible failure his parents had deemed him to be. He was out to prove them all wrong!
Johnny hung his head for a moment in a brief gesture of uncharacteristic sadness. It wasn't an emotion the boy experienced on any regular basis. "Dad says I need to learn to grow up, and faster. He says I need to be a man and help run the house, not just stay in the kitchen all the time. But... if we wanna work on the play and stuff, Dad's gotta be healthy, you know? Sometimes he has really bad days and some days aren't so bad. That's why I dunno when the best time to practice would be. Dad's health kinda..." The boy rocked back and forth, mimicking the rise and decline of his parent's health. "...it's sometimes good and sometimes bad, so I gotta be there for the bad times, you know?"
Shaking his head, Johnny attempted to force himself out of the sullen mood. "But... but I have a phone so I can call if Dad's doing well! And then we could practice, you know? Right?" The enthusiasm returned to his eyes in a flash as if it had never left at all.

"We're working together on this and I want things to go well - for everyone. In truth I don't want things to go badly and for it to be laid to blame on you, I wouldn't like to see you scolded for it." Alexandre spoke honestly as he wondered, if only internally, why he felt like this. Though it was perhaps because he knew someone else with a similar issue with energy, and having far too much energy. Maybe it was just becoming easy to fall into a caring mentor roll for this sort of person, to be the one to seek to calm them and keep them safe - in whatever ways he could.
Listening, and observing, the other teen he nodded his head finally. "I see, well then perhaps from now on we can practice at your home, so you can be home and still work on the play - bad or good times. I am sorry to hear about your father and while I see a reason to grow...I think you should still retain your youthfulness." There he went again, wanting to keep someone who seemed this innocent, untainted by so much in the world, as he was. Why? He was torn with the chibi senshi, on one hand he wanted to yank them into the real world and on the other hand he wanted them so far out of this war it would be best to dump them on another planet and leave them there. Maybe it was that this person wasn't involved in a war, and the reason for Bazzite was how broken it would leave him? The chibi senshi, or at least the one he'd met personally, seemed as though she thought she could handle things - let her find out if she could. Biting his lip for a moment, in thought, he finally pushed the thoughts aside for later thought.
"Would it be too forward of me to ask what's wrong with your father?" He asked, hesitantly. Watching the others mood shift, rather quickly, he wondered if it was a mask, all the happiness, was he actually a good actor and didn't even realize it because it was just a method to cope? An interesting idea surely. "Yes, that's good." Hurrying to finish his pie so they could get started, a smile in place as he set his plate down, empty, the other really could bake.
"We should get started, as soon as your ready." Headed to the kitchen to put his dishes in the dish washer. "Take your time, no rush." He didn't expect the bang from upstairs, something had dropped and hit the floor hard, just as he was reentering the living room.

Johnathan giggled and flushed visibly at his friend's kind words. Usually people just explained that Johnny was Johnny and that, being as young as he was, he needed to be cared for by someone who was more experienced and more mature. But Alex? Alex treated him as more of an equal, perhaps more like family than anyone else he'd met previously. It was a comforting thought to say the least.
Scratching the back of his head, the boy swallowed a lump forming in his throat. "Well um... Dad's been sick ever since I was born. I mean, I don't mind you asking! It's just that I don't know all the details. Mom keeps that to herself, she says it's for the best and all that but..." Johnny closed his eyes for a moment as if to try and remember bits and pieces of a conversation long since past. "...it's something about his bones, like something is happening to them and it gives Dad a lotta pain. Sometimes he can't even move, and that's when it's really bad. That's why I learned to cook and clean. Mom's gone a lot and she works two jobs so we can take Dad to the doctor. So she's not home a lot..." Something seemed to severely bother him then and he chewed on his lip, turning to Alex as the other boy got up to go into the kitchen. It was best they dropped it anyway.
Getting up to follow the boy, something loud and indeterminate hit the floor with a loud THUMP! and spooked Johnny to the point of insanity. Suddenly White Moon senshi were pouring in through the windows of his mind, hellbent on disemboweling poor Alex. The King! Leaping into action (and clearly without thinking), Johnny took this to mean he needed powering up to defend his friend. In a whirl of energy, Johnny was suddenly replaced with Bazzite, clawing his way onto Alex's shoulders as a perch from which to dispense justice.
"EVILDOERS BEWARE!" came an echoing shriek, paper shuriken at the ready.

After hearing the others explanation, was lacking as it was, he knew he'd be pondering the others predicament for a while to come. It was just...foreign to him and yet something about it all made him feel for the other, a great deal. He wanted to in some way make things easier, lighter, for him. He couldn't think of a single way though, but he'd try. Maybe just spending time with Johnathan would help? But it didn't seem like enough to him.
While he ignored the thump, or was it more of a crash, it seemed the other wasn't as soon he was toppling over backward taking...Bazzite! with him. How in the he- oh god. Bazzite was Johnathan or rather Johnathan was Bazzite.
For a moment he lay on the floor stunned before he managed to speak up, with a groan to his words. "I'm quite fine and capable of defending myself, though I am honored Bazzite." Saying this as he transformed, to prove hs point. Gone was his normal clothing and in it's place was the familiar riding coat of deep indigo with purple designs, a black turtle neck, and familiar and comfortable black knee high boots. "You can dislodge yourself from my being...if it pleases you." Gentling his words, and making an order into an option, for the other.

Bazzite took a while to dislodge himself from his superior officer and when he did, it was a flurry of movement. The boy's hood covered what parts of his face his cluster of hair didn't and he sputtered to get it out of the way. His first thought was to protect Alex from The Evil Upstairs and the next thing he knew, he was standing on top of Benitoite! Blue eyes peeked out from behind a ninja hood and the boy sulked. "Beni, have you seen Alex? When did you get in... Oh! Oh HI BENI!" The realization was, obviously, slow in coming.
Reaching out a hand to assist his captain, Bazzite smiled broadly. "You're like the last person I expected to see here. Good thing you're not a senshi cuz..." He frowned suddenly, buried in a thought about as deep as a puddle, "...cuz then I'd have to kick your butt and you probably wouldn't like that, so!"
Once everything was back in order the younger boy stuck his tongue out. "See, now I can be an even better knight cuz I got someone even better to protect than the king! I got you, Beni."

Taking a moment to pinch the bridge of his nose the Captain stood up slowly, glad to have Bazzite off of his person. It wasn't that he disliked the other, that was far from the case, the other was just larger and heavier than he was and it was uncomfortable...and he wanted to get off the floor. Glad for the help he nodded to the other, thanking him silently for the moment.
"I doubt anyone would expect me to be who I am." Or rather who both him's were, if that made much sense. "I don't doubt you could kick a senshi's butt." Ruffling the others hair as he spoke gently to him, he wouldn't tell him that he didn't think he could really kick a senshi's butt. he wouldn't put the other down, he would work on it so the other would be able to kick a senshi's butt though.
"Of course, now why don't you and I both power down and continue with the play? Since it's best we not remain powered up, we don't need for some senshi to be in the area and sense us both." Not that he thought such would happen one never knows, he'd learned to really expect anything - including but not limited to space travel. Finishing what he was saying he powered down himself.
