Yes, GIR seems to be the most-loved character on the show. Sure, he's funny, as well as entertaining and adorable. But what about the other characters? Some of the characters with the best lines are totally forgotten, pushed aside by all of the GIR fans!
Whenever anyone brings up characters now, someone says something like, "Oh ya i liek Grrr. He's beter then zim. he roxx." (Misspellings were intentional right there.)
And then, everyone starts to agree, and it all turns into one huge... GIR-worshipping... thing! This happens so often that, as much as I hate to say it, I've started to detest it when people talk about how great GIR is when Invader Zim is mentioned. Maybe even detest GIR. But I really do love GIR! Please don't make me detest him!!! crying
Many other characters deserve more fans, too! Like Zim, Dib, Tallest Red, Tallest Purple, Tak, Skoodge, Gaz, Professor Membrane... heck, the list goes on!
Just needed to get that out; I'm sorry if I have bothered anyone... sweatdrop

I agree all the way. I do myself obsess over Gir, but I do obsess over most of the other characters as well. I love the whole show period. I dislike those people who only like Gir, they really ruin it. stare I wish they would come with some more things with Gaz, the Tallest, and the sort. I love their lines from the show. heart

Yes, the obsessors can be annoying. That's the reason why Gir isn't one of my favorite characters. I don't have a definite favorite but Zim, Ms. Bitters, the spooky chihuahua(don't ask), and the tallest are tied up.

That's just the line that JV uses quite a bit in the DVD commentary, especially when Dib is having something horrible happening to him. wink

I like gir and zim- I like all the characters- but I have to admit I like gir alot too. But I do not obsess (sp)

I like all the carachters. I can only immitate GIR though (Horribly, mind you....). For me, it's tied between Zim and Dib, really....

I have to admit I'm a pretty big fan of GIR, but I definitely know what you mean about people obsessing over him exclusively without even looking twice at the other characters. I may love GIR, but I'm also a big fan of Dib, Zim, Tak (don't ask me why, just something about her voice and accent is so cool, even if I should be used to that sort of accent! razz ), and the Tallest, and pretty much every other character there too. (Mrs. Bitters used to annoy me, but now I even think she's pretty cool! smile )

GIR is cute insane but Zim and Dib are insane insane.

Many of the people at my old school never believed me (No matter how true it is that Irk shall rule Earth one day and once the big bang happens again, life will be restarted....)

In the commentary for Gir goes crazy and stuff it says that America loves Gir. Johnen says that it's because the show is full of mean hateful characters, and the one that makes it easier for children to enjoy is Gir. Since he's so weird, funny and uplifting I guess.
