Story

All Yuichi ever wanted was to find happiness. He wanted to start his career with his band and he wanted to live a happy life right alongside his high school sweetheart. He and his girlfriend moved together to Tokyo right after they graduated but it was from that moment on that things started to go downhill. The girl he loved left him for the allure of the wild nightlife and Yuichi was left alone to suffer. Of course the girl couldn't have just broken up with him. No Yuichi had to have the misfortune of finding her with one of her lovers in his own bed.

Yuichi was forced to move out naturally and leave his dreams of happiness behind. For a while he thought that as long as he could continue with his band then he could get through this whole ordeal but even that had to go wrong. His band members all left him. Some wanted to continue on to go to college and the others just didn't care.

Yuichi was left all alone in the grand city with nothing. By now Yuichi has lost all hopes of moving on with his life and so he makes the decision to try and kill himself. His way... The classic jumping off a bridge. However just as he was about to dive into the freezing dark depths a stranger grabs his hand and pulls him out of harm's way. The stranger, a man much older than Yuichi, takes him back to his apartment. From then on Yuichi gets stuck living with the man having no other place to go. He never once stops to wonder if a relationship between the two could become a possibility.

The entire week had been a complete disaster. Walking in on his love having sex with another in his own apartment and on his own bed was the big one but being told that the band which he had worked so hard to form and become a local success was breaking up was the icing on that cake.

It was mid November. Only a few months ago, Yuichi Uesugi had made the decision with his girlfriend and his band mates to move out of the small towns they all lived in and finally go to live in Tokyo. That was where all the action was after all. It was the place the band would make their fame and fortune and where Yuichi and Kari would start their life together. However the allure of the nightlife and the chance at success in other fields pulled the others away from him. Perhaps if it had happened in between a period of time he might have been able to cope with it but one right after the other in the same night was too much.

He had been walking all night. Yuichi was tired and feeling worse than awful. He was trying to figure out what he should do but the more he thought about it the more one single answer came to his mind. Suicide was his answer. The way everything had played out he couldn't go on. At least that's what he thought. Walking along a bridge that led to the outskirts of the city Yuichi suddenly stopped to glance down at the dark watery abyss below. This was it. This was his answer. Without thinking it through Yuichi climbed up and stood on the small rail bars that separated the path from the exterior and kept the ones who passed from falling into the depths below.

Standing on top of the thin rail bars Yuichi felt the cold wintery air cut through his light frail skin. It felt like a thousand razor blades cutting through him. Looking down at the dark depths below Yuichi began to feel lightheaded and dizzy. It was then that he began to second guess himself. Thinking for an instant that he may have to turn back he suddenly felt his foot slip off the rail and in what seemed like a moment captured in slow motion his eyes shot wide open as he was preparing to plunged to the frozen waters.

Not even starting to grasp the concept of what had just happened Yuichi had a frightened look on his face. He hadn't meant to jump. Not yet anyway. Finally looking up at the man who had pulled him to safety he was silent. Slowly coming to his senses he looked down and shook his head. "Why? Why did you pull me back?I wanted to jump... I wanted to fall and die!"

"You don't know me and you have no idea what I've been through all in one damn day! Let me go and leave me be!" Yuichi began struggling; tears streaming down his cheeks. He couldn't get away from Yukki for even a second.

Yuichi continued to struggle but the other eventually got him in the car and he had no choice in the matter anymore. He couldn't understand why this man seemed to care so much. Anyone else would have just let him jump and just called the police. After a bit Yuichi just stayed quiet and waited to se where the man was taking him.

"What home?" Yuichi asked bitterly. "I have no damn house here and my apartment was taken over by my new ex-girlfriend. All my friends here turned their backs on me too. I have no place to go or be except the bottom of that river. But you took me away from that so what else do I have?"
