With much whining from her partner that she needed to get out of her room and do a little different even if it ment more reading but in a different location he was total fine and he was also glad that when he asked a question she would answer it for him instead of ignoring him all together.

Tori grabbed her bag that had note books along with her code book inside and heading outside of her room. She still walked with a limp and bandages that still covered her fingers as they were still tender. So Lin what type of book are you interested in learning about? she questioned her weapon.

he replied with a wide grin.

Alright, I can do and that sounds like fun too.
Tori replied back thinking on what story they could read while walking down the dorm hallway to head for the Library with book in her hand that she need to return as she was done with it for now.

FINALLY, Ami had found the most perfect spot in the world to sit and quietly read a book. There was a staircase that was hardly ever used in the facilities, and no one bothered her there.

< Can we go do something? This is boring. >

No one except Junpei that is. Ami sighed and turned the page in her book. It was H.G. Wells today, particularly that of Tono Bungay. It was complicated and oddly written, mostly muses from the author, but Ami was intrigued by the challenge.

She heard footsteps coming down the hallway. Really? More noise? Just great.

Not really paying too much attention to her soundings as she walked down the hall to her destination. Tori has been thinking on what myth that they could read that Lin hadn't heard of yet. She was thinking that if she could find a book on the Grimm Brothers might yield a good choice in stories, but she didn't know if one of them would be there. She had let to read all the books in the Library yet.

Tori hadn't realized that there had been another trainee further down the hallway until she had gotten to were the other was sitting and she just froze there trying to think so something to say clearly growing more nervous as she stood there.

"Sorry...for the interruption.." Tori stammered nervously. Then with a little prodding from her partner did she see the other girl with a book and she grew a little less nervous as books were so good. "Ummm, so what you reading there?" Tori asked showing the book on myths that she was going to return for a different one.

< Can we please go do something this is so boring please please please- > Junpei whined. She had to deal with this all day. This was getting OLD.

Footsteps startled Ami as they came walking down the hall, clearly in her direction. A hand wiped down her face in annoyance. This was supposed to be her quiet spot, not her "everybody bother Ami" spot.

She kept her composure though. At least the person apologized; Ami couldn't really be mad at someone who apologized. To this mysterious new hunter's question, she replied, "Tono Bungay, by H.G. Wells." She held up the cover, as if to somehow reinforce the point.

< Say something nicer than that! Make friendssss. >

"Ah ... your name?" Ami said awkwardly.

< Wow. Real smooth. >

She hadn't wanted to bug anyone but this way was the quickest way to where she was heading and if she had known Tori would have gone the other way. Looking at the book, one she hadn't read before but at least heard of the author and thought that she just might have to look it up later on.

"Cool, I haven't read any of his books yet, right now I have been more on a myth kick," she replied thinking that this place was a nice place to read but then the Library was a much nice place and less people to interrupted while reading.

"I'm Victoria Straka, but I go by Tori," she answered and then it dawned on her that this trainee could one of the newbies that had just awakened and didn't know were things might all be, especially the Library. "So...I take it that you just awoke?" Tori asked sheepishly just wanting to make sure to what she was thinking. "I also know of a much better place to do some reading too," she added quickly and a little sheepishly.

Ami's eyebrow arched- not in suspicion, but surprise. She hadn't met anyone else yet that had enjoyed books. There was Otto and Syd, but- ... On second thought, she should focus on the task at hand.

"Ami, Ami Raine," she responded to the lady's introduction. Apparently some people were still cultured enough to give their name in this academy. Cassandra had been polite enough, but it was all very business and mission-formal to her. This was casual and just small talk at the moment. Ami rather liked it actually.

Fingers threaded through her braid nervously as she said, "Ah, yeah. New recruit and what not. Was it really that obvious?" Did her lack of depressing speeches give her away?

She didn't quite respond to the better-place-for-reading statement yet though. Ami wasn't about to go on a wild goose chase for a reading spot that might not even be better than her own right here under the stairwell. She was far too thick-headed and healthily suspicious for that.

Tori just smiled a little when she had seen Ami reaction, but she did know a few others that liked books and she hope that she would find others that did as well.

"Its nice to meet you, Ami," she replied, offering her hand to Ami for a handshake, it was only polite to do so. Aklin was happy that his hunter was making new friends instead of reading all the time.

"Not really, I just haven't seen you around before and I know most of the group I woke up with, the Hatchlings." she answered. "Oh I also just took a wild guess too," she added sheepishly. "So have you been on your first mission yet?"

Tori had to wonder a little to why Ami wasn't asking here were this place was and then it dawned on her that she might not know were the Library was. "Well the nice reading place is located in the Library. As I can show you where the Library is, as I have to return this book and look for something new to read," she said while hoping that they did have the book she was looking for.

Ami's eyebrows twitched in surprise at the handshake, but she shook the girl's hand nonetheless. She was surprised because it seemed for the first time since coming here, someone had an ounce of respect for etiquette. It was pleasantly surprising.

"Nice to meet you too. Hatchlings-... those were the group that came before us yes?" she said, standing up to talk with the other hunter. It felt awkward having to stare up at the black haired lady. It was only polite to be on the same level right? "I think they call us the "lambs" or something," she said, making air quotes with her hands around the word lambs. She thought the entire thing was rather trivial, but didn't say so right off the bat.

Brushing off her coat a little, Ami said, "Mission! Yes! Lots of bugs, not really very fun." She scrunched her nose up a bit. It wasn't that she was afraid of bugs ... it was just the AMOUNT of bugs that was disgusting.

"The library though," she said, changing the subject, "I would love to know where that is Victoria." She didn't bother changing to the girl's preferred name. She rather disliked nicknames anyways. "I can't seem to find my way around this big place." She smiled a bit. Polite AND offering a tour to the library? She liked Tori already.

Tori still had a little smile as she watched Ami get up from where she had been standing. She didn’t mind at all if Ami had stayed sitting, Tori was at times very polite it all came from how she was expected to act in her old life. “Yes that is correct,” she replied as Aklin was trying to ask questions to what a lamb was and she just didn’t listen to his questions right now but later on she would. “Ah, well it could have been a lot worse, I think,” Tori said not missing the air quotes Ami had made as it looking that she didn’t like the group name.

“That sounds a lot better than the first one I when on. Mine was to the Sahara Desert to do clean up duty for really rotten bodies,” Tori said as she gave a little shiver as those bodies had been really gross.

Tori didn’t mind the change of subject at all. “You are right about that one and it take time to find things and there are times I still get lost trying to find things,” she said and not minding at all that Ami didn’t call her by her nickname. “Well let’s get going. It’s not too far of a walk from here,” she said as she turned to head for the exit of the dorms and held open the door for Ami to exit to show here where the Library was.

Not to long after they had made it to the Library but it was a little tricky place to get if one didn’t know there way around, so may confusing hallways with a lot of places looking the same. Tori just loved the smell of the place the smell of the paper. “Here we are, Ami the Library,” Tori said walking into the place. “I just love this place, besides the Life labs. Also there are lots of books in the horror and lore sections more so than some of the other sections,” she added.

Ami quite liked this girl. She was intelligent and polite, a rarity it seemed at Deus Ex (then again, so far she'd only talked to a few people ... so ...). She followed the girl obediently, making landmarks in her mind. Turn right here, walk up some stairs there.

When they finally arrived, Ami felt extremely relieved. Hopefully their library system wasn't too bad; nothing was worse than a shitty library after all!

"Thank you so much," Ami said earnestly, "You're a lifesaver." She smiled, looking around at the library. It was quiet, like most libraries, and piled with books. Definitely her kind of place.

She looked at the girl kind of awkwardly. She wanted to learn more about this Victoria character, but at the same time she wanted to go see the library. Her curiosity took the better of her. "Life labs? Where are those?"

Tori was quite glad to show Ami where the Library was as sharing knowledge was a good thing and she was also glad to find another that loved to read books just as much as she did. "Your very welcome," Tori replied with a small smile. "I'm glad to share as I had a hard time not knowing if there was a Library here when I first awoke and felt better once I did," she added seeing that Ami was looking around at all the books and Aklin reminded her to make sure to look for a grim brother book she promised to read him.

Seeing that Ami looked at her awkwardly and wondered what she had done wrong, until she asked her question. "They aren't too far from here as they are also were the Infirmary are as well. You awoke in the sleepers pod room which is also in there as well. Along with another pod room when we take Golems to do missions were the creatures live," Tori answered. "Also a little word of advice be careful of Dr. H as I was told from a friend that he gives 'I need an adult' vibe when alone with him or so I was told. As I haven't run into him besides my own orientation," she added as she gave a little shiver at remembering him shooting golem-Clarice.

"So what is your favorite type of book?" she asked Ami.

Ami nodded at her advice and said, "That's disgusting." She was already biased against a man she hadn't met- but hey, it wasn't the first time. Hopefully she wouldn't have any interactions with this Dr. H fellow. It sounded like he led the Life division, so perhaps they'd stay apart. After all, Life was ... research? Or was life the offense one ... she just couldn't keep these straight! Hopefully there wouldn't be a quiz.

Either way, she said, "Favorite genre? That's probably ... romance literature?" She meant from the romantic era- hopefully her companion was intelligent enough to make the distinction. She rather liked the lady, and had a glimmer of hope that she would make the distinction. "Now my favorite book is another story. Probably Catcher in the Rye? Maybe Northenger Abbey ... I couldn't decide!" she said with a laugh. "And you?"

< Ami! Look you're making friends! >

Oh shut up, she countered. Even so, there was a slight smile on her face.

Tori just shrugged as she felt the same but it was just something that she would have to deal with and to her it was a little better than having to deal with Caelius to her own thinking.

Thinking for a bit as romance book were good and all but she did have to wonder if Ami had ment the other. "I just want to make sure I got this right that you like the books from the romantic era and not romance novels?" she asked as she didn't want to assume one bit. "Those are both good books,” Tori replied and thought on what books that she liked.

“I really don’t have a favorite genre there are just too that I like, but favorite story would have to be Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass,” she answered as she was really indecisive on what she really liked. “Well ok those are good books too but its hard to decided my truly favorite ones,” Tori added sheepishly and Aklin giggling at her. “But I also liked reading informational type of books too. Before coming here I had really a lot of time on my hands and for most of that time I read,”

OKAY TORI WAS HER NEW BEST FRIEND.

"Yes, the romantic era," she said calmly, not revealing any of her inner excitement. Meeting someone here who didn't make her owe things, didn't make her do favors, didn't make stupid comments- it was relatively relaxing.

She cracked a smile at Alice in Wonderland. "I LOVE those books," she said, smiling in true camaraderie for the first time, "I remember reading them quite a few times when I was little." She longed for her old set of books back at her ... well old home. She had a relatively small shelf of beat up books; the shelf was reserved for her most favored books- ones that she could read over and over.

A thought donned upon Ami. "Oh my. I hope I'm not keeping you from anything," she said, a little worried. She had technically just snagged the girl from the hallway and then ran off with her. What if Tori had some place to be? Egads. The sheer social awkwardness of it all. The horror.

"Cool as there are many, many good books and there are some that I haven't even read yet and I so want to," Tori replied as she had started to make a list of books that she had wanted to get the next time they were aloud off the island for sometime off and when she didn't have a clue.

Tori smiled as it was good to find another that loved those books as well as it had been one of the few books that could have been banned from the house but wasn't and was glad for it. "I use to have a copy that was so warn out that I had to make sure my parents wouldn't see it and insist that I get a new copy to replace the old warn out ones," Tori said as she was sad that she didn't have them any longer. "What are a few other books that you like when you were a child, Ami?"

The lifers smile got bigger at Ami's worry about keeping her from stuff to which she had already finished what she needed to do when she dropped the book off when they had first entered. "Nope you are not, I needed to come to the Library to drop off a book and that is all that I had planned for the day. So if there is anything you want me to show you just ask," Tori replied.
