"Four years," Pilot said, as she answered Gray's question about how long she had been on her own. She sighed lightly snuggled against Gray again. The man was warm and clean, and he smelled nice. "I've had my sheep with me though, so I wasn't alone," she added, trying to reassure him that she hadn't been by herself the whole time.

Peregrine.Elliott.Gray.Wellington.IV  "And where did you come by those lovely fellows?" Gray asked. Because sheep were hardly a common sight in the city and, well, she had three. So that was a bit odd. "How old are you anyway, my dear?"
He carried her up the narrow steps to his wagon, and fumbled with the key before letting them both inside the cramped and colorful interior. He set Pilot down near the door and went to grab a tin of biscuits, and the things he'd need to make her some clothes that weren't filthy, and didn't reek of sheep.
"Incidentally, I do not believe I told you my name. Well, it's actually rather long so you can just call me Gray. Here you are!" he tossed her the tin, also grabbing some soap and other things that were lurking about. "We're going to head inside and get you cleaned up but you can have a few of those to tide you over until we return. And then I'll cook you something delicious and fill that growling belly of yours. How does that sound?"(( OuO It's so fun to RP something so sugary when the rest of my characters are all grouchy)) XD

Pilot opened the tin and peered inside, picking up a buiscuit, "The sheep were my family's. We had lots of animals! We had over fifty sheep, two horses, a dog, three cats, a cow, and chickens!" She took a big bite from the biscuit before answering his other question. "I think I am ten... but I am not sure," she said before devouring the rest of the biscuit that she had in her small hand. (I bet it is! THEY ARE SO CUTE! Hes like a daddy already! 4laugh )

Peregrine.Elliott.Gray.Wellington.IV That gave Gray a pause. "What exactly happened to your family, Pilot?" he asked gently. The poor kid. How on earth had she ended up alone? It seemed like something must have happened to her family or something.
That was just...sad. He wasn't the greatest person in the world, or the most moral individual, but even for him, that was just sad. Poor kid. At least she had an appetite though. A healthy one at that, if he was to judge by the way she was gobbling the biscuits.

"The big bad meanie wolves came and took them away....." She replied. Pilot just stood there for a moment, thinking in silence, then began eating the biscuits for slowly. She seemed to have lost most of her appetite. She missed her mom and dad... Truth was, Pilot was still scared that the wolves were going to go after her as well, that is one of the reasons that she traveled so much. But maybe now she had somewhere safe to stay... (Lol, I like Gray's new look wink )

Gray frowned. That was less informative than he had hoped, but he figured it clarified that something had, indeed, happened to her family. "Well, you needn't worry," he told her, tucking all the supplies under her arms as he smooshed past her toward the door. "There are no wolves here. And I'm uncommonly good at fighting off wolves and all sorts of other nasty creatures--like mermaids and such."
He offered Pilot his hand. "You'll be safe here. Besides, we also have my golems and wolves can't even hurt them because they're made of stone."

Pilot took hold of his hand, "Okay..." She replied softly as she walked with him. Now the big bad wolves couldn't eat her and her sheep. now she was safe. And now, it was time for a bath and a hot meal, something which the little girl desperately needed. Her hair was a tangled and matted mess as well. The bottoms of her feet were covered in little cuts and scratches, and her lamb ears had small scabs in them. She was a mess.

They have four feet. And they eat grass. And they have...furry ears. Like yours. And since you like horses and sheep, I'm sure that sheep and horses must like each other."
Yeah. That made total sense. "Up you go, now." He shooed her up the stairs ahead of him, reaching around her to open the door.
