The winter had been merciless this time around... hardly any days were able to be spent outside the confines of the vast pound. It wasn't that big a deal to the small feline.. though she did miss the sun, and soft scents that accompanied.. Most of her days were spent in her room, walking the hallways, or curled up by a fire with tea. Always alone... she didn't know anyone, after all. Besides.. that one male she'd met before. But she hadn't seen him since, those many months ago. This was better than her old life... right?
At the current moment, she was walking down one of the long hallway's, with a small potted plant in her hands. It was an orchid... and was looking worse for the wear. Her expression held a look of forlorn, and woe for the poor flower, tiny hands cradling it so gingerly as if any sudden movement, or touch to it might make the wilting thing crumble before her. Her tail was just barely lifted off the ground, eyes lifting from time to time to scan the rooms beside her... looking quite lost, aimless, and pathetic all in all.

((Blah, it's short and lacking, will be better once I've settled more into it, promise <33 ))
His fingertips slid down the cold window pane, tracing absent-minded patterns in the frost. Weather was so different here, so... predictable. Like everything else. Life had become a continuous and monotonous nothing, leaving him free to focus on his thoughts instead. The memories wouldn't leave him be, as if someone punched and broke the replay button and he couldn't stop it. Now he didn't even try, having given up entirely.
Somewhere behind him it dully registered that he was being talked to. Flicking an ear in annoyance, he paid his roommate no mind, not hearing anything he said. Boris didn't notice when he left, returning to his self-absorbed stupor instantly.
Leaning heavier on the windowsill, he pressed his forehead against the glass, enjoying the soothing chill; ignorant of the rest of the world.

{same, same~ }
There was a greenhouse around here... somewhere. She just knew it. She'd heard of it during a few episodes of eve's dropping, but none of the specific's.. just that there was typically a fox who manned the place, and was always seen taking care of the plants there. Maybe he could help the more little lovely orchid from fully wilting to it's doom..
Still walking silently along the empty corridor's, she would peek up with slight excitement when someone would appear... but more times than not, she was briskly walked past, a faint defeated expression taking to her features. She would continue on, this same occurance happening twice. But finally another door opened, and her icy blue eyes lifted from their hopeless gaze at the dying plant, towards the doorway. She was met with Boris` roommate first, to whom she gave a brief glance, before something further in caught her eye... suddenly her sleek ears perked up, and she passed by the other male without a word, straight into the room. He, however, was blatantly checking her out, even with a slightly crooked brow due to curiosity. The feline made her way towards Boris, voice soft and delicate as she spoke, "Boris Airay.." there was a glimmer of hope in her tone, even her usually dulled eyes held a small spark of life. Long, fluffy, and quite silky tail flicked behind her, elevated to a pleased level. Though the two had only met once, he was one she'd remember quite fondly.
Boris` roommate gave him a look that resembled a "nice job, man", look, as well as a slow shake of his head before turning to head on his way. The ex-geisha didn't stir though from her poised position, "Can you.. help me...?" desperation vaguely floated into the texture of her voice, delicate brows just barely drawing close.

The soft call of his name snapped him from his reverie instantly. Eyes widening, he turned to look at her from over his shoulder. Reorganization lighting his hollowed features, he smiled warmly for the first time in months. Though he caught the look his roommate gave him, Boris didn't bother to acknowledge it. It wasn't like that, besides, he didn't even know here name.
Still, he couldn't deny he was happy to see her. Or that she remembered his name after only meeting once. Eyebrow quirking at her question, Boris approached her slowly, a long loop of his chains rattling softly against his hip with the movement. Taking in her appearance, he noticed the little pot she held gingerly; though it's contents seemed in a sorry state. Grinning wryly at her serious look, he put his hands on his hips and nodded at her.
"If I can, what do you need little one?"
Machines, gears, metals. Those he knew and could work with, but plants? If she asked him to help revive that poor floor she was out of luck. Though hadn't he seen some sort of plant room? What was it... a green house. Gold eyes narrowing in thought, he tried to remember where he'd seen it. Towards the gardens? It would make sense. Admittedly he never introduced himself to the botanist though. Or botanists as the case might be. Though, maybe that wasn't what she was asking about at all. Ears rotating to fully face her, his head tilted curiously, wondering.

She was relieved and glad to see that finally someone was acknowledging her! A light smile even twirked at the corner of her lips, tail giving a firmer flick in that small spurt of glee. Now that she held his attention, her eyes lowered back to the potted plant, lifting it some for him to see better, sleeves falling down her arms to her forearms, "I found this plant, and.. I want to make it better... but I can't find the greenhouse.." her ears lowered and folded to the sides a little, "I don't want it to die.." she murmured softly, clearly more distressed about this than she should be...
Lowering the pot, she braced it just under her chest, keeping it snug and secure, eyes flickering up to the other feline's face, "Do you know where it is?" again that hope flickered in her icy blue eyes, which in turn were darted downwards to the chains that linked from collar to... somewhere... She followed the link with her gaze, before taking a step closer to him, and lifting a little hand to ever so gently graze her finger tips along the metal with great curiosity. She followed it to his hip, and paused there, to simply fiddle with the chain. So he was still trapped..? Her ears suddenly perked.. was that man she'd passed upon coming in here his master? Her fingers trailed up to gently stroke his stole again, brushing the fur with great care as if it were a pet of some sorts. In doing this gently touching she seemed to calm down a great deal, and simply cradled the plant as if it were a newborn.

Eyes softening at her innocent request, he reached out to gently touch the underside of a leaf, lifting it up for a moment before letting it fall away. There was nothing he himself could do, but surely they could find someone together who knew what to do. Reassuring her with a small smirk, he was tempted to pat the top of her head when her ears folded as she murmured.
"Don't worry, we'll find the greenhouse. I think I have a general idea where it is. I'll go with you."
Though before he could make good on his word to escort her she approached to reach out for the golden chain. Breathing sharply in surprise as her fingertips trailed along the metal links all the way to his pocket, he watched as she began toying with it. Not knowing how to respond, his hands reached up as if to pull her away, but instead hovered a foot or two from her slender shoulders.
"Uh... "
What was her name? Had she ever told him? He tried to recall, but his ears shot up when she distracted him from the memory as her hands brushed through his fur. It was innocent, Boris knew, and perhaps that's what so readily disarmed him. She seemed so at ease now, as if this was something she dearly needed. Letting her roam, he knelt giving her hand better access to what it sought. He considered asking if she'd rather he hold the pot, but with how tenderly she cradled the poor thing he thought better of it. Instead put his hands on his knee, looking up at her.
"Hey, are you ok?"
Concerned, he searched her eyes, trying to read her.

She'd been fond of his fluffy wrap since meeting him the first time, it's soft texture much like her own tail... though hers was quite silky, and like touching a cloud. Regardless, it was comforting to feel. Slender brown tipped fingers combed through it with great care, pausing as Boris replied to her call. A minute smile worked back up on her features, and she moved even closer to oh-so tenderly hug his fluffy boa, even nuzzling it with her cheek, "Thank you, Boris Airay.." she practically whispered.
She pulled back slightly, ears perking as she felt him lower down, blinking in a curious fashion once he was down at her level. It was a bit funny, really.. as she was quite short for being an adult, and most times never got to see others at her own height. Letting go of his fur, she instead gently began to smooth his hair, brushing it away from blocking his eyes, eventually finding the base of one of his ears to gently rub. A somewhat child-like smile came across her features, enjoying the harmless contact, truly missing being around others for so long. Back home she was constantly surrounded by many... and though she didn't like the company themselves, she hated to be alone. Her delicate fingers played along the earrings looped on his ears, and gently smoothed the tuft of fur at the tip, before returning to the metal, eyes following with great intrigue. Her eyes lowered though, to meet Boris`, ears swiveling forward at his question. Exploring his own expression, she gave a vague smile, eyes blank as per usual, "I am now, yes.." she softly replied, hand sliding down to gently cradle his jaw, head tipping slightly as well, "Are you ok?" of course, not being used to someone worrying about her, she thought his features were made that way because something might be ailing him!
