What will be the future of the MLP franchise? This one is by far the most popular generation, pretty much the only one appealing to the older crowd and more, they'd probably never be able to top it, but maybe try to equal it? cat_ninja
What do you think, or what do you hope, will be the next generation of MLP? I'd personally like to see a sequel series that takes place in the future of the FIM universe, maybe even with the kids of the current Mane Cast. Maybe do something like Legend of Korra and put the characters in a different situation to avoid repeating the plots and adventures of the first series. Like maybe they're traveling explorers. cat_ninja

You kiddin me? Hasbro is going to milk this for all it's worth, and they should. Yeah the show will die out eventually, but that could be a long way off, and when it does they probably wouldn't make it too similar, but would incorporate some of the elements I'm sure, maybe even the art style. That being said, I wouldn't mind a series that takes place in the future, I guess we'll just have to wait and see...but again, we may be waiting a long while...It would not surprise me in the least if they release some kind of inferior spin off series in the near future though.
Edit: maybe one that focuses on the background ponies a bit more, and has more inside jokes and references. THAT I would enjoy.

I try to delude myself into thinking it'll last forever. Less immediate disappointment that way. Whenever I start thinking of my favorite shows ending, I can't watch them for days without getting heartbroken.
You know what would take the cake? If people started making huge mods of some popular games where the characters were replaces with ponies. That would be unbelievably ******** cool! Skyrim, Dark Souls, Minecraft... so bloody awesome! Almost everything is better with ponies.
When it comes to more shows, I'd like to see some spinoffs personally. Maybe some action/adventure types that explore the mythology, history and geology of the setting more. Introduce some new characters, have periodic appearances of the original cast. I don't know, anything really.

Testament of Death I try to delude myself into thinking it'll last forever. Less immediate disappointment that way. Whenever I start thinking of my favorite shows ending, I can't watch them for days without getting heartbroken. You know what would take the cake?
