Mission Details Survey Mission 3BArticle Headline: Desecrated graveyard leaves many questioning * D class difficulty level (you can run this mission solo or with a group/team) *Article contents: Owners are confused and outraged, as well as locals, as to why their neighbourhood graveyard would be desecrated in such a manner. The deceased bodies are missing, and investigators still have to locate any remains. MECHANICS * MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 3B. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Each player must roll at least three times with rped reactions. Once they have "collected enough information", they can return back and submit a report in this thread. 1- 20: The graveyard is a very large lot, other than the very obvious empty lots, nothing else seems to catch your eye. 21 - 40: You notice that a lot of the empty lots still have grave markers on them. All of them are missing a deceased date... that's unusual, isn't it? 41 - 60: A strange sort of black plant - roots - seem to be sprouting out from the "desecrated" lots, it visibly withers and disappears upon contact with any light source. 61 - 80: Even the coffins, you notice, are missing. There is indeed no signs of the bodies, or pieces of it anywhere, but you notice someone standing in the distance, wearing a black petticoat and an umbrella - even though its not raining - you look back at them again but they're gone. 81- 100: Something clatters under your feet, strange in texture. You dig it up - a broken old fashioned pocket watch is buried underneath.

Before hadn't seen his Bros since the whole kidification thing. He didn't know how they were doing, whether they were all patched up or if they were still recovering. He had considered baking them a pie as a pick-me-up but he was avoiding the kitchens for a bit. But then he got a text! From his Bro, Bix! 8DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Oh oh oh oh oh! Looks like Bix was totes okay enough to go on an External Mission! And what's this? Gale was gonna be with them? Sweet! He continued reading the message for the details on the wheres of their meeting place and the whens they were gonna meet, nodding all the while as if Bix or Gale was actually there to see him acknowledge the information. He quickly thumbed a response and psyched himself up!
He was going to work with his Bros again and he was looking forward to it! No matter what sorta messed up, creepy-a**, screw-with-your-head job this was going to be, he was going to deal with it like a BAWS 'cuz he had his Bros to back him up! Or at least he was sure they weren't going to just up and leave him to die ;;iloveyouDIE See you Bros at the meeting place in five! kuromeez See you Bros at the meeting place in five!

Bix had told them all to meet him at the lighthouse portal. He was there waiting, checking out the same girl who always seemed to be working there. She seemed pretty annoyed that he oggled her everytime he was there and Bix wasn't exactly pretty looking right now with his hands still slightly bandaged and a pac-man bandaid on his cheek.
The albino hunter, after sleeping for several days, figured the best way to cope and recover was to just press on with work as usual. He always got antsy if he was alone too long anyway.
He currently was making a 'i'm so smooth' face towards Miscellaneous Attractive Girl so he probably would miss when his bros arrived.

Since returning from the Haunted House, Gale had been in a Mood - and not a very good one. Which meant that when he got the text to meet at the lighthouse he stared at the screen with a disgruntled looking expression. Slowly, however, it ebbed away and Gale sighed, snapping the phone shut. He had not had a mission with the two former Betas in quite a while, and he needed to do this to get his damn promotion back - which he hadn't yet.
And he wouldn't, if Caelius ever found out what had happened at the Haunted House, but Gale planned on keeping that on the down low for as long as possible.
"Morning," came the mumbled, sleepy reply as Gale stepped into the lighthouse area, trying his best to hide the fact that he was, unfortunately, still limping a little.
"Just us three, then?"

"Yeah I think so." Bix straightened up when Gale approached. He was doing his best to NOT look like he was just oogling a girl. The hunters maintaining the portal hustled around them, here and there fiddling with machinery and switches.
It made him jealous that he knew nothing about the technology. Maybe he should look into studying it? It was closest thing to advanced computers they had around her.
"Just waiting on Before. Shouldn't be too intense. I think we are just investigating. Anything serious and we pull out." He tapped the pendant he wore that would return him home. "Figured we were healthy enough to walk around a graveyard."

"Hiyoooooo~" Before cheerfully greeted as he came running up to the pair. "Got here. Fast as I could. Was on other end. Of Island when I got text," he apologized in between deep intakes of air. Before's stamina had improved since awakening but he still had some ways to go before he's in tip-top shape.
One final deep breath and he straightened himself up, "Okay, so we good to go?" d(OwO)b?

Bix nodded and grabbed Before by the shoulder to give him a friendly shake. "Nice.. probably with his girlie Toooooriiiii..." And then with a playful shove to both of them, "FIRST ONE THERE IS ROTTEN EGG... READY SET..."
And he ran without a countdown, straight through the portal. They emerged from the shadows into the silence that only a graveyard could offer. Headstones dotted the landscape, monuments looking down on them like silent guardians. Bix's playful exit from Deus was shushed immediately by the solemnity of his surroundings.
He took a few steps and pulled out a standard issue flashlight. There wasn't a soul in sight and only vague cricket and bird noises reached his ears. It was easy to see the scene of the crime. Several yards to their right were a few graves, torn up and empty. Even the headstones sat crooked.
Bix approached the graves, shining his light down into each empty hole. There was nothing there. Nothing. No sign of bodies, caskets, nothing. Not even a scrap of cloth or a splinter of wood.
"Huh.." He puzzled aloud, his eyes drifting up to catch what he thought was a mourner in the distance. A mourner? In the middle of the night? When he glanced back, it was gone. It was like the 'haunted shack' mission all over again.
"Keep an eye out guys. I think I saw someone but they are gone already. Don't wanna take any chances."

Why was Bix elongating his syllable when he mentioned Story? 8CCCC "I-i-it's not like thaaaaaaaaaaat!" he half-whined, half-stammered. Before let out a startled yelp as Bix shoved them away to jump into the portal ahead of them! Vanna wasn't about to let her partner become the "rotten egg" as it were and immediately ordered for the Misty to take chase. And like the albino Hunter, Before's emergence into his new surroundings silenced any protests and claims of Bix playing unfair.
Oh yeah. Graveyard. They were here to investigate the desecration of some graves. It's not like grave-robbing was still wildly practiced these modern times, was it? Then again, Before may be ignorant on that aspect of humanity.
He kept relatively close to Bix, scanning the surroundings for any movement or for any sudden signs that would mean they would have to summon their weapons. Teal eyes studied the graves, blinking in surprise when they saw nothing. "Who would want to take everything? Like. What? Were the coffins made of gold or something?" he mused, scratching his head. He was about to ask Gale or Bix for their thoughts when Before noticed there was someone there as well.
"Bro, did you see her?" he asked, turning to his bros to point at the direction he thought he saw the umbrella-carrying figure. But his finger was pointed at nothing. Just more graves.

Gale limped slowly after the others, trying to keep up as best as he could without actually showing that each step he took was slightly painful. At least, he thought to himself, while safely ensconced within moving through the portal, this isn't something that requires a great deal of physical activity.
...I hope.
On the other side of the portal was their destination - a desecrated graveyard that stretched out in front of them, mounds of dirt heaped here and there, headstones cracked and tilted, twigs and leaves littering the mossy ground. Since it was night, it was not as if anyone else were around - in fact, there were hardly any sounds at all, except for the soft thumping of soil beneath their feet and the short gusts of their breath as they moved.
"This looks..."
<< Terrible. >>
"Terrible," Gale agreed, but he kept his voice low and quiet, his eyes roaming across the cemetery as they adjusted to the darkness. But other than the empty graves and the soft whistling of the wind, he could not see anything at all out of the ordinary.
He frowned a little, giving both Bix and Before a somewhat bemused look.
"I don't...see..."

Before could have sworn he saw someone but as he studied the surroundings again, it seemed whoever, whatever it was he saw was just a trick of the gloomy light.

"Yeah I swore I saw something. Like a woman maybe? Big skirt and umbrella thing." The albino hunter frowned and looked in that direction again but didn't see anything.
"So guys.." Bix crouched by one of the empty graves and stared inside. "Hows life? Recovering okay?" Both of his friends had been a little less normal than usual. before wasn't his crazy jokey self and Gale had been even more grave and serious than usual. It seemed to be letting up a bit, but he worried abotu his friends sometimes.
You should worry about yourself you know. Getting over this demotion.. proving yourself.
Bix ignored Mina, a habit he was learning to master more by the day. Perhaps he was hitting his 'rebellious stage' with her.
"Hey check this out.." His shoe tapped a strange black root that was growing out of the grave. He thought at first it was a normal plant but it was inky colored and when he turned his flashlight to it, the root retracted and disappeared.

There was a sharp hiss - Gale had tripped over a root, and was lying sprawled on the ground with an expression of pain across his face. He tried to hide it, however, instead dragging himself slowly to his feet, hobbling along.
The coffins are missing...
It was strange - and confusing. Whoever had done this ad clearly spent a lot of time and effort in removing them, especially considering that to remove dozens of coffins from a graveyard would be quite a feat.
A shadow moved - Gale's eyes drifted towards what might have been a silhouette, his gaze narrowing slightly as he tried to make them out. Was that...a parasol of sorts..?
It was eerie.
"Fine," replied Gale absently, still distracted by the shadows. "I'm fine."

Bix was about to rush to Gale's aid but his friend rose slowly and said he was fine. "Getting better I hope?" He flashed a grin, hoping to see his friend cheer up a bit.
There wasn't much of anything immediately around him of note so Bix turned off his flashlight. He fished in his coat pockets and pulled out some tweezers and bags. It was a small sampling kit for goo or cloth or any sort of evidence they might find. He sampled a piece of blackened root, wrapped it securely in some cloth, and stuck it in the baggy.
"A sample.. for the Life labs. Maybe they can study it?" Bix just shrugged and finally rose from the grave he was staring into.

Before hadn't been there when the whole getting-crushed thing happened. Which was probably why the Misty felt like he had no right to sympathize with Gale's plight. But Bros wouldn't take his concern as pity and misunderstand his intentions would they? A hesitant look at the younger hunter's disposition seemed to suggest he might 8CCCC
And so Before decided to shut up and continue to look for anything suspicious. Except like earlier, there didn't seem to be anything suspicious. Plus, Bix was doing the job of a Lifer in collecting samples. Oh! Why didn't he think to do that? > n <
Probably one more reason why H kicked him out of Life. He gave a self-pitying sigh at this line of reasoning then quickly shook his head. "How fresh do you think these have been dug up and the stuff inside stolen?" He wondered out loud as he tilted his head in thought.

"Yes," said Gale, with just a touch of sarcasm dripping into his voice as he stomped irritatedly around the cemetery grounds, clearly not fine as he answered "I'm getting along just fine. Just peachy.
<< Someone certainly woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. >>
You would too if you were attacked by a bloody werewolf three days ago.
<< Get over it already. >>
You don't just "get over" nearly dying.
"A sample's a good idea," he said, after a minute, and, on a moment's whim, summoned Jinhai. There was a small flash of bright white light and a second later the rifle was in his hand, ready and waiting. Gale wasn't about to shoot it, however, instead using it as a sort of cane, propping his arm on it and trying to look extraordinarily casual about it, as though he were just summoning it as a precaution.
<< Smooth. >>
Shut up.
Off in the distance he could still see the shadowy figure standing, parasol in hand...
