Okay, so I am sick and tired of people assuming they suddenly know everything about me and how I'm going act and react, just because I say "I'm a Christian". GAY HATERActually, two of my best friends are gay, and they are some of the most amazing people I know and I love them super much.I BET YOU THINK CONDOMS ARE THE DEVIL'S HANDIWORKActually no, I think condoms are a pretty good idea.BUT ABORTIONS ARE WRONG, RIGHTDepends on the context, really.WANT TO TELL ME ABOUT FIRE AND BRIMSTONE AND HELLNot really, I'd rather talk about God's unfailing love.PFAHAHA, YOU'RE SO STUPID FOR THINKING THAT THE UNIVERSE COULD BE CREATED IN 7 DAYS*facepalm* At the beginning of time, before anything existed, there was no such thing as a day. Venus' year is longer than its day. There are several slip-of-the-tongue mistranslations in the modern Bible, where we don't have a word that mirrors the Jewish word; until I learn Hebrew and read Genesis, I'm not going to apply the way "day" with any real solidity. In any case, I'm not so hot on the concept of "days" before the sun existed. My concept of the creation story is a fluid one, because frankly, I don't care that much, so I never really give that much thought to it. Also, I think you misunderstand the word "omnipotent".QU'RAN BURNERSeriously? Get out.I BET YOU MOLEST CHILDRENWhy would you even-?! Seriously, what?! ><Also, on a completely unrelated note, my brother came into the kitchen yesterday, said he didn't mind doing the washing or drying up, and then PMSed everywhere about the sink being ceramic, or too clinky, or badly fitted, or too close to the edge, the entire time. Take a pill of chill.

So true, man... So true... I usually, as soon as I find a flamer, I punch them in the face and tell them to get a real life.

Agreed. I'm a Christian and I get that s**t all the time. gonk I have a bunch of gay/bi friends and I love them all to death, and contraception is a pretty ******** amazing idea. I don't understand why Christians get butt hurt over contraception, they hate abortion so much. If you are going to ********, you might as well try to prevent an unplanned pregnancy right?Sometimes bible thumpers make me go but maybe I'm too liberal for my own good.

I'm a Christian, too. I dislike people who assume. I tend to keep to myself unless someone asks me about it or if the time calls for it. Although I can't say I've met anyone who assumes thing about Christians on here.

Subliminal Aftermath I don't understand why Christians get butt hurt over contraception, they hate abortion so much. If you are going to ********, you might as well try to prevent an unplanned pregnancy right? Not Christians, Catholics. It's Catholics that have a problem with contraception. I'm sure there are a couple other religions that feel that way. We can't forget the Calvinists (what few there are left) who split off to become Puritans, Quakers, Amish, etc. The truly hardcore believers of the bible believe that it is wrong to prevent a life from being introduced to the world, or to take life. I admire the Amish, actually. Even in the face of extinction, they are unwilling to compromise their beliefs.

I take it that they are the types of people who believe the bible word-for-word, no deviance from the English translation? Do they believe that there was no world before Adam and Eve (making the world only about 12,000 years old). Please understand that I am an Agnostic with Buddhist tendencies.

So, it sounds really silly when you say, "Not Christians, Catholics" when Catholics ARE Christians. And just because certain Christians believe this nonsense about contraceptives... that doesn't make them more "hardcore" than the Christians who don't. Though perhaps I'm interpreting "hardcore" differently than you are. And there are plenty of Calvinists left, though they seem to be split between liberal and conservative.

I believe in Jesus, but the Bible confuses me. There has to be someone there, we weren't an accident. But I dunno, a lot of Christians nit pick and only follow what they want so idk. there are some churches that take it less literal and that are with the times, then there are also churches that kick it old testament. No shaving, tv, internet, stuff like that. There are also some in the middle, I pretty much blow off church. XD I don't go... LOL I'm rambling.

They've all got it wrong because they believe that killing in the name of God makes murder okay. And don't try to tell me that nobody believes that, because the bible is exactly what politicians and military officials hide behind to justify their wars. Every time they talk about a victory, they mention God and how God has blessed their forces. Other countries do it, too.

Every time they talk about a victory, they mention God and how God has blessed their forces. Other countries do it, too. Well, obviously some people believe that, but that doesn't mean all or even most. :/ It's also not relevant to any of my points which were simply that Catholics are Christians, a Christian can be truly hardcore about her beliefs without being insane, and Calvinists are still fairly numerable. I don't want to debate on whether Christians are some evil force in this country (they're not) or whether they "got it wrong" (who knows?) or if claiming God blessed their forces is the same thing as believing killing in the name of God is okay (depends). I'm not even sure why you're bringing this up with me. You seem kinda angry.
