Nysa had a quill pen. What sort of quill, he was not familiar with. It definitely did not seem to be a swan feather quill pen. He was quite familiar with those, having purchased his fair share in the past. It definitely was not a lesser quality quill, for those were usually marked in greys, browns, or blacks. It was a sort of puzzle he wanted to solve, but he was unable to do such with the knowledge he already had.
What sort of "weapon" was a quill pen to a knight?
The Page of Neptune did feel a certain duty, but there was still quite a bit of conflict with actively seeking out violence. So he instead patrolled with a strange sense of dread over the possibility of coming across a youma. It wasn't cowardice, he had decided. It was that he did not want to lower his standards and principles in the name of the magical war which had devoured the city. It was times like this he missed Westdale. Things were a lot simpler before Destiny City.
The lad stood beneath one of the street lamps that was lit up to guide the way down the streets, looking over his quill pen. It felt odd to be out of Hillworth at this hour, but it wasn't like he could patrol during school hours.
"...so what are you...little Pinion of the Sea?" he asked the quill, as if it would answer him.

Grus didn't feel fear when she thought of youma. She didn't wish to run into them, but she knew that if a youma crossed her path she would return it to the earth in dust. They weren't the problem. Her dread stemmed from a certain General with a very large spear that she wounded. One who's echoes of "I will get you! Your dead!" still haunted her thoughts and her patrol. Every skinny thing was a spear, every rustle was Lesath getting one step closer, determined to knock her down. Even she shadows were Jarosite, whom she now had to keep an eye out for on behalf of her friend. Everything seemed to be closing in on her.
And here she thought she had gotten over her fear of being Eternal.
Instead she was quiet, checking every nook and cranny. She would find a youma, and then get the heck out of here. Back home where she was safe from the nightmare that was a magic war.
The streetlights were a sight for sore blue eyes. The orange cones of light were like an island in a very dark sea. She ran for one and as soon as she stepped into the light, she felt a million times better. Nevermind that anyone could see her. Light was good.
Sailor Grus wasn't the only one who sought comfort from the night among the orange glows that lined the street. There was someone else, a cone or two away, and her sense told her that they were powered, but not Chaos related. Curious, Grus left her streetlight and wandered closer, trying not to look too nosy. If it was just someone hanging out, she didn't want to scare them.

By the time the senshi had her blue eyes upon him, his own teal eyes were already upon her. He was still getting adjusted to the whole feel of "sensing" other powered individuals, but it was quite difficult to ignore something so very noticeable. Between his gloved fingers, he held onto his own weapon at about the level of his cheek.
"It would seem that my luck is mandating that I meet every senshi with wings decorating their uniform," he offered in a kind tone, his accent lightly woven through his words. The girl's uniform had a lining of feathers about the shoulders. It made the uniform feel exceptionally dainty.
Being the sort of lad he was, he asked a question in an effort to get better acquainted with yet another young lady in this magical war. "Might I ask what your name is, Miss Senshi?"

He had seen her before she had seen him. By the time she had gotten close enough to see into his cone of light, he was watching her arrive. She stopped within the light, tilting her head to the side as she did the usual once-over that meeting a person entailed. A quick up and down gave her plenty to think about.
The other person turned out to be a guy with very long hair, and an unusual color. It looked so soft! She wanted to reach out and touch it for a moment, but the accent drew her attention quickly. An accent! Grus absolutely adored accents, and dearly wished she had one herself. She couldn't quite place where it was from on the first go around, but she was determined to find out, and make him talk as much as possible.
She smiled, hands clasped in front of her, and said "I am equally lucky in meeting someone I've never seen before." Her cheeks colored slightly at the 'Miss Senshi'. "I'm Sailor Grus. Senshi of Feathers." She held out her semi gloved hand for a handshake. "What's your name?"

His features seemed to light up the moment she introduced herself. This had been one of the senshi that Miss Polaris had spoke of. In a familiar manner, he replied "It is a pleasure to finally meet you, Miss Grus. Miss Polaris has told me that she felt we should meet."
The hand that was offered was taken within his own gloved hand, but a handshake was hardly in the plans for him. As he was accustomed, he leaned forward and gave the practical stranger a quick peck of a kiss upon her knuckle. He straightened up after such a seemingly romantic gesture and proceeded to his own introductions. "I am Nysa, Page of Neptune. It is quite lovely to make your acquaintance, Miss Grus."
Though it did not take a genius to figure out that this senshi had a pair of decorative wings attached to her uniform, the lad was still relatively new to this whole aspect of the world. "I hope you would not mind humoring me, but I have noticed that not all senshi seem to have the wings like you do. Miss Polaris has them, and you have them. However, I have met senshi in the past that did not have such accoutrements. I am still quite new at this, so I was pondering if there is some sort of significance to having wings?"

"Polaris! Yes, I know her. She taught me a lot about fighting." Fighting wasn't exactly true. It was more about how not to throw up when she beat people up. But she definitely wasn't going to say anything about that to an almost perfect stranger. He should be a perfect stranger now that she thought about it. But the fact that he was in the same position as her, in the same war already gave him a sense of kinship.
She was taken aback when instead of shaking her hand, the newly named individual kissed her hand. Underneath a crimson blush, she hoped her hand were clean. "I-it is nice to meet you too Nysa." She said slightly awkward. Her awkwardness continued on when Nysa commented on her white wings.
"Oh these?" She said, turning to the side and looking back at them. They were some sort of plastic inside with fabric on the inside. She wasn't sure exactly when they were for, other than a subject of teasing from senshi like Chaonis. His accent was so distracting! "Uhm, well they are supposed to mark an Eternal Senshi. See senshi have different ranks. I suppose knights do too, but I don't know them. For senshi at least there is Regular senshi, Super senshi, and Eternal."

Nysa could be called a careful creature. Though the topic most definitely was on the wings that decorated the senshi's rump, he made certain his eyes were not drifting there. The last thing he needed to be accused of was leering at her rump like some sort of pervert!
In an understanding tone, the lad made certain to repeat what he had taken from the conversation thus far. "Ah, so it would sound as if the highest rank of the three would be the Eternal senshi. So if I happen to see a winged senshi, then I should know that they are a powerful ally. Shall I assume that the Super Senshi are under the Eternal, and that the Regular Senshi is under the Super Senshi in regards to power?"
One could never be too careful when it came to understanding new concepts. Additionally, he had to ask "Is there any sort of telltale signs that a senshi is of the Super ranking, Miss Grus?" The difficult part about being thrust into a war in such a manner was how little information he had to start with. So now he couldn't help but try to make up for it by asking seemingly willing allies what he could.

Grus nodded, making sure to actually pay attention to what Nysa was saying. He had to be from England. That was what her professional accent deducing powers were telling her. "Yep that's right, though I personally think that even if they have more power, sometimes Eternal senshi aren't as strong as Supers. It kinda depends on how much experience you've got, and when a cat just happens to be walking by."
She turned back to face Nysa directing, putting a finger to the side of her chin. Super senshi were different than regular senshi, but signs of a super were a lot harder to find. The only changes that she had noticed in her outfit were the addition of a black stripe and a couple strings of beads. The stripe was gone now, but the beads remained when she went Eternal.
"Well, they feel stronger than regular senshi." she said slowly, trying to phrase her words neatly. The teal haired boy was very elegant with his words, and Grus didn't want to appear some uneducated youth compared. "The problem is that everyone's outfits look different. Different colors, manners of decoration..." she trailed off, thinking about how Polaris's outfit was covered in little trinkets. "I would have to say that Super Senshi have a little more decoration though. Extra colors and bits to their uniform. And the bow is usually bigger." That's right. The white wings had become so natural for her, she had completely forgotten that she once had a giant red bow attached to her.
"For Knights such as yourself, I am not really sure how to tell them apart. I've only met a couple, and they were as different as night and day."

"I see..." Nysa led off, taking in all of the information with a courteous nod. "So it would sound that the only true tell-tale sign of any rank in the senshi would be eternal, if I am getting the information you shared with me correct." There were particular key phrases she had offered which were curious, especially this notion of feeling stronger. However, this question would be tucked away for a later mention.
At the moment, Sailor Grus had somewhat hinted at a question directed at him. "I apologize, but I can not claim to be an expert about the Knights. I have yet to actually meet any of the others. I am a Page of Neptune, but seeing as you are the second individual I have met since I have learned of this form, you can perhaps see why I would not know much beyond this. Might I ask what the titles for these other knights were? Perhaps that could shed some light on the differences?"

Oh but he was so polite! She wanted to smile stupidly and she thought for a moment that it was quite appropriate for him to become a Knight. "It is even more difficult to tell Negaverse agents from one another in my opinion. Unless you've met them before."
She shrugged, throwing her hands into the classical gesture of unknowing. But her blue eyes did widen when he said that he hadn't met anyone else of his faction. "Really? You haven't met any?" Oh she would have to help him! Grus remembered how lost she had felt before meeting any other senshi. There were so many questions bouncing around in her head at that time. She felt sorry for him.
"I've only met a couple." She ticked them off on her fingers as she recounted names. "There was Nifhel. He was the first one I met. I'm not sure where he came from though. Uniform was all red. Kinda scary lookin. Then Camelot, he is a Knight from Earth. I met him right after I became a senshi. Lets see...oh! Naica! He was a Knight of the Cosmos. He's got his job cut out for him, he's got the whole cosmos to look after!" Poor kid. She briefly wondered if he ever got over being so nervous.
She jumped as if shocked, then reddened. "Sorry, I'm rambling. I'm what my mother likes to call 'word-a-minute' person. My dad says I just chatter too much."

The mention of the Negaverse did stir some emotions inside of Nysa, but he did not allow his features to betray his concern over the opposing force. "I have only had the pleasure of encountering the General Painite... though I am certain she would not recognize me in this form..." The lad quickly hushed though the moment the girl started spewing out a disorganized list of various other knights in the city.
Niflhel, Camelot, and Naica...
He was uncertain what was more interesting, the names, or the origins of the two names that he had been told (since the third was an unknown). A knight from Earth and a knight from "the Cosmos" as it had been described.
Where the girl suddenly seemed to panic over her own miniature speech, the Page kept a cool head upon his shoulders. "No need to apologize, Miss Grus. Rambling just means that you are excited about the subject matter. Or perhaps that you at least are familiar with the subject matter. You were merely giving me information that I was seeking, so I have no reason to criticize the manner in which it was delivered."
With a smile and a single nod, he added "Even if you have only met a couple, you have given me plenty to think about. I will investigate these things at a later time."
He paused only long enough for himself to extend out the hand which had been so carefully gripped onto the quill pen that accompanied him. "Now let me see if I can ask a simple question. If you would be so kind, do tell me what sort of magic you have over feathers. I would be quite intrigued to hear more about your own abilities."

Grus shuddered, knowing all too well of the General Nysa spoke of. It was during a battle with that same agent that Grus had turned Eternal after almost dying at the woman's hands. "General Painite is not one of my favorite people." She said, leaving the history behind the statement out.
Her smile was excited when he excused her ramble. It was so nice not to be made fun of for talking too much for once. Her friends always made it a habit of giving her "the look" when her words started tumbling over themselves. "I really just wanted to make sure I got it all before I forgot." She had a terrible memory for some things, and names were one of them.
She leaned forward and looked at the feather. It was beautiful, pearly white. Grus avoided getting close enough to flutter it with her breath. "Well my basic and super powers create a cloud of feathers. Kind of a way to blind the person, though the second power also gives them small cuts. My Eternal power is very different. I haven't quite figured it out yet, but it seems to be feathers that have a burning quality to them. At least, that's what I think. When I used it in battle the feathers seemed to burn right through their fuku."

As he stood there, he could not help but appreciate how considerate the young lady was being in regards to the quill feather pen he held onto. As she seemed to look it over, he agreed to one of her earlier statements. "I concur with you upon the subject of General Painite." Like the girl, he did not dwell upon the history he had with the woman, though his was merely to keep his own image sparkling clean. His own experience made him look foolish in retrospect, and he did not need to make himself look the part of the fool.
The girl soon enough was describing her attacks as he had requested, so he made certain she knew he was being absolutely attentive. His eyes were upon hers, and as she said some key points, he nodded his head to confirm he understood what she had just stated. Once she had seemed to finish, he made an observation.
"It would seem that we are very different then. You have magic over a multitude of feathers, where as I only possess the single quill. Your powers do sound rather intriguing though, Miss Grus." He allow his ever constant smile to grow slightly larger to show his approval. "Perhaps someday I will have the pleasure of encountering your abilities in person."
He nodded his head one time before he made certain to mention one thing that had stood out as odd in her descriptions. "You mentioned that you used the 'Eternal Power' in battle against someone wearing a fuku. If memory serves me correctly, is that not what the uniform a senshi wears is called? If so, why would you be fighting a senshi?" He could understand if it was a spar, since sparring was a good way to practice (as he had long learned from his years in fencing). However, using such abilities in a spar seemed quite unnecessary to him.

"Perhaps your feather will have magical qualities the more you fight." She said, thinking of her own power progression. She didn't start causing any type of damage until her Super Stage. Maybe Knights were the same way. Grus smiled sheepishly, straightening from her bent position of examination.
"If your ever in a fight and need help, I'll be happy to come assist!" She was just as curious about Nysa and his knight powers and he was about her and her senshi powers. While she had met a few before, she had yet to see them fight.
She nodded, face going solemn. "Senshi wear fuku. But not all senshi are on the good side." Perhaps 'good' wasn't an appropriate word to use. She certainly believed that they were on the 'good' side, but she also knew that those form the other side thought themselves to be 'good'. It was more complicated than she wanted it to be.
"There are senshi that have chosen to follow Chaos." Her words were bitter, as if each of these senshi had personally insulted her. A couple of them had. "I'm not sure why, but if they were ever senshi from our side, they don't remember it. So it might be brainwashing. But some may have been found before they became senshi, or forced into it. I'm not sure."
"I've met two different kinds." continued to say. "Senshi that feel completely like Chaos, like Negaverse agents and senshi that aren't quite like either. They have their own feel to them. Those are the ones that I think are brainwashed."

Some key words seemed to spout out of the girl's mouth which caused a slight twitch to his finger that was holding his quill pen.
Fight
It was not something he wanted to do, since there was the connotation that he'd have to be on the offensive. He did not mind defending those that could not defend themselves, however, his stance was still that of a pacifist. Perhaps the only person who would understand such a stance was deceased. With even the slightest hint of his friend coming to mind, the boy respectfully thought Rest in Peace, Franz. Soon enough he had moved onto the next subject, seeming to only give the senshi silence in regards to some of her vague prompting.
"That is rather important information, and I am glad you gave me fair warning, Miss Grus!" Up to this point, he had merely assumed that the senshi were his allies. There was a saying about why it was bad to assume, which he also silently ran through his head quite quickly before returning to the current conversation. "Is there a way to tell the difference between a 'good' senshi and the two different types of 'chaos' senshi?"
There was a distinct pause before he stepped forward. He was tempted to touch the girl upon the shoulder, but he restrained himself. Instead, he offered an observation on his own part. "That sort of expression is not fitting for such a cute girl's face, Miss Grus. Come now... might I see a smile once more?" As if to serve by example, he leaned forward slightly, showing one of his own gentle smiles.
