The black and blue lion had decided to spend another day wandering somewhat closer to the borders, even though he realized this could be a risky thing. But, oh well. Kialio liked his walks. They were nice and relaxing, and he could feel useful if he spotted outsiders and went to intercept them. In fact, not long ago he had 'intercepted' a pair, turned out they were headed this way to settle in!
That kind of interception was a good one, because it just meant more nice people for the pride. So long as they didn't turn out to be secretly evil or anything. But Kialio doubted it, most people were nice and decent, very few weren't.

From a distance, the pair might have looked rather cozy, walking shoulder to shoulder, pressed tight against each other, but the male's expression was one of pure exasperation as he used his body to guide the distracted female away from rocks, or holes in the ground.
She followed him without hesitation, allowing him to guide her as she rifled through the pelt-made shoulder bag that she had her head stuffed into, trying to find her crafting supplies. She wasn't even looking where she was going in the slightest, but really, she wasn't overly keen on the idea of finding this 'pride' that Mon had spoken about. Apparently, he'd heard from someone, who'd hear form someone else, who'd talked to a bird that said the pride was nearby.
She was rather doubtful of the whole thing, but she could practice her crafts anywhere, and she had the strange feeling that Mon was getting closer and closer to killing her out of sheer frustration at being her, and this was his quote, not her own, "babysitter".
Mon grumbled a little, shouldering the female - gently- out of the path of a large rock, only to tug her back closer to him after the rock had passed, stopping her from tripping over a smaller rock.

Oh, would you look at that. Kialio tilted his head as he squinted at the pair, because their fur colors matched the savannah grass nicely. For most part, anyways. The lion had dark paws, and the lioness colorful patches. But besides that, they blended. Not totally sure they were members, though, and intending to do good by his pride, he did the sensible thing, and approached.
Like with the last couple he found walking around, he came at an easy trot, with a fairly relaxed posture. And he greeted them a certain ways away, to not startle them. "Hello!" he called.

Mon heard the male call out and glanced towards him. Ah! A lion! Perhaps they were close to the pridal lands? He hoped so. Being the sole care-taker for the obsessive female was getting hard. "Hello!" he called back, coming to a halt and grabbing the back of Waa's neck to prevent her from walking straight at the male.
She came to a sharp stop and pulled her head from the bag, frowning at Mon, before noticing the approaching male. She settled the bag against her side again, but didn't call out a greeting of her own.
Shooting Waa a frustrated, if not fond, look, Mon glanced at the male, calling out an almost hopeful, "are we intruding on pridal grounds?"

At least his question proved that they were rogues. Kialio noted the strange way the female moved. Had the male actually... just... bit her, to stop her? Strange. "Um... yes." He said, as he got closer. "These are the Pridelands." He told them, but since they didn't seem hostile, he doubted he had anything to worry about an attack.
Maybe Kialio just trusted others too much. Maybe someday this would bite him in the rump. But, he didn't think this was that day. "Who are you?" He asked, though his tone was polite. Since they were in his pride lands, he figured he deserved to know their names first.

Mon grinned. Yes! They hadn't gotten lost. His sense of direction had never been that wonderful, but the directions which led them there hadn't been all that exact, so that probably helped them in some strange way. At the mention of their names, Mon was quickly apologetic. "Ah, how rude, my apologies. I am Mon'kut, and this is Waa'sesere. We are rogues and were, in fact, looking for the Pridelands!"
Waa stared at the stranger with a slightly suspicious look, but nodded, as if to confirm Mon's words. So they had found their new supposed 'home', she mused. She glanced around them, feeling a little put out at the lack of obvious craft materials, but she would need to get used to it. Mon had been so hopeful about the Pridelands, pointing out it's faults would probably just earn her full on anger from the usually calm male.

He glanced at the lioness, curious about her silence, but figured he wouldn't stare at her. It was rude. Maybe she was just strange, or shy. He could deal with talking with just the male. Kialio smiled. "Well, you found them." Haha, as if that wasn't obvious enough when he said 'These are the Pridelands'. "I am Kialio, and it is nice to meet you." The black lion said politely, then decided to go on a bit with the questioning.
"So you were looking for someone, or were you hoping to join?" It could be both, really. But if it were the latter, he'd have to lead them in, just as he had done with Danzi and Kimiko.

"So it seems," Mon murmured, glancing behind the male towards where he assumed the rest of the pridelands laid, How wonderful! "It is a pleasure to meet you, Kialio," Mon said respectfully, nodding his head in greeting.
Waa, still, said nothing and had returned to looking through her bag of crafts. The dried grasses could almost be woven...or at least mushed together to form some sort of carry case.
"Hoping to join," Mon explained, ignoring Waa's mutterings into her bag. "Both Waa and I were raised in prides, different prides, but have been rogues for the majority of our adult lives. It seemed like time to find another pride to settle in." He glanced towards his companion, a slight wince on his face as she tugged her head from the bag and wandered off towards some tall grass, flopping beside it.
"Ah," Mon began, but paused, unable to think of how to explain Waa to Kialio.

Once again, he found himself looking at the lioness curiously, and, again, had to turn his attention back to the male when he spoke. This Waa-lady was certainly quite strange. But as long as it wasn't psycopathic strange, or anything, that was fine. "I see." Kialio said, quietly amused that, yet again, he was leading another pair of lions inland. He wondered if it would look strange!
"I don't quite have the..." He trailed off, glancing at Waa for a moment, then looking back at Mon. "Um, authority to really accept you in." Said Kialio, a bit sheepishly. "But I can take you in, and find someone who can."

Mon was extremely relieved that the male hadn't turned around, called them weirdos (well, called Waa a weirdo) and cast them away. He seemed willing to allow them into the pride, which made Mon grin. "That would be much appreciated," he said honestly, before clearing his throat. "Excuse me a second."
He drifted off to where Waa was laying, and pressed his paw onto the grass she was trying to harvest, effectively stopping her. They began to grump at each other in a quiet tone, Mon trying not to freak out their 'guide' as he hissed and muttered to his companion.
Eventually, she seemed to conceed defeat, and rose to her paws, scowling at Mon, and then at the male that was nearby. She huffed, but followed Mon back to him. "Thank you for your offer to lead us into the pride," she said, sounding very much like Mon had given her the exact words that she had to say - which he had. She looked like they left a slightly sour taste in her mouth, but, after a sharp look from Mon, a smile crossed her face. The smile was faked, but it softened her features from her earlier blank, or grumpy expression.
Mon grinned, seeing his companions smile, uncaring of how fake it was. He glanced back towards the guide. "Lead the way?" He suggested brightly, nudging Waa so that she would follow him.

He watched the exchange with a somewhat amused interest. Kialio wasn't foolish enough to believe Waa's words were honest, but wasn't quite bothered. He'd already accepted she was a little weird, and it's not like she had attacked him or anything. "You're welcome." He said, returning a smile, though his probably came more easily. Partially because he was finding this all rather funny.
"Gladly!" With a nod, he did a little side-step, turning towards the distant pride rock, but not exactly turning his back to them. Honestly, just because it would be rude. He didn't fear an attack or anything. "Right this way!" Kialio said, and once he was sure they were with him, began to walk back towards the center of the lands.
