The evening air was cool but still comfortable as Carnelian was whisked back onto the earth by a friendly Captain. He had finished turning in his energy quota for the week and was determined to laze about if even for a little while. The corrupted senshi was somewhat more comfortable with being what he was though the hole in his chest still puzzled him. He hadn't been out and about with his love Euclase in quite a while, but he knew she was busy. Not wanting for her to get into trouble with the higher-ups, Carnelian attempted to pull double shifts and bring in twice the amount of energy. He didn't know if it made a difference and he wasn't entirely sure he cared.
Carnelian's characteristic black velvet coat was sprawled around him as he climbed up onto the park's slide and laid down. This was the place he met Lenka and found out that Dark Mirror senshi, which were somehow different than he was, were shoving the little ones around. Maybe once he got stronger, he'd beat one of them down for nearly breaking Lenka's arm. How could someone do that to a child? It's unforgivable.
The young man huffed and blew some of his red hair away from his face, reaching an arm up idly to grasp at the sky. What was up there that made senshi act the way they did? Carnelian had no connection to the universe, just to the Negaverse.

Grus was out unwillingly. Once her Eternal power had been revealed, she was so scared of it that for a week or two after her last battle, the henshin pen remained buried in her sock drawer, away from her eyes except for the two seconds it took her to grab a pair in the morning. But by midweek, her body felt like it was missing something. She was tired, irritable, and restless. It felt almost like a vitamin deficiency. But no matter what she ate or drank, it was there in her body, dragging her down.
Finally that friday, she pulled open the drawer and retrieved the pen. It was warm, and as she henshined up, the emptiness inside her seemed to be filled with the warmth. Had she really missed this that much?
She carefully avoided getting the white wings caught on her windowsill as she jumped out. Her usual route took her past Knightside and, seeing everything was alright there, she went to the park. There was always trouble at the park.
Her sense went off the moment she stepped into the area. There was someone here, someone she hadn't felt in a while. A Corrupt. Her footsteps lightened as she ran. There was no use trying to hide. If Generals were any indication to power signatures, then her Eternal signature was probably very easy to spot.
She found him on the slide, staring up at the sky. Her head tilted in confusion, bringing back memories of Hel, one of the other corrupted she had met. She was pretty nonthreatening. She also wore red, like this guy's hair. Was red a common color for corrupts?
"Trying to get the energy straight from the stars?"

The eternal's energy signature was on him like a looming hurricane. He could feel its push and pull just as easily as one felt the breeze and it overwhelmed him. Never before had be met someone with this much power on the other side of the fence and it frankly terrified him. Carnelian thought that the more powerful a senshi became, the more easily he or Euclase could be blown to particles. In an instant he was up and attempting to put distance (or in this case, plastic play structures) between him and the looming Death Machine. Looking up, he saw a bright-eyed young lady in oodles of red and even more oodles of feathers.
...so she totally just murderated someone on the way over and now he was next. Senshi Serial Killers, more news at 10.
Green eyes narrowed at her. "I haven't done anything, thank you very much. I was laying here, just catching my breath and now feathery death descends upon me. So do I get any last words? Can I at least call my girlfriend before you whip out your chainsaw and hack me into itty bitty pieces?" His tone was frightful and bitter simultaneously. Carnelian hoped to at least go out in some semblance of glory, not... well, gory. She had to be hiding knives in there somewhere look at the gradient on her fuku it's made with ENTRAILS. Good thing he wasn't the macho type and had no qualms about shrieking like a ninny if something bad were to happen.

It was like he had seen a ghost.
Suddenly he was up and off the play toy as if it had electrocuted him. Grus was thoroughly confused. She had never had an agent of chaos act this way before....hmmm. He must be new or something. Her friendliness instinct came out. Poor kid. The Negaverse really screwed him over didn't it? Out here without a clue, and no one to help him. At least she had a cat to protect her while she got her bearings!
When he started moaning about his death, and how she was to bring about it, she wanted to puff out her cheeks with a sigh. Instead she managed to keep to cool, taking a step backwards and even laughing when he talked about chainsaws.
"A chainsaw? Are you kidding? I'm no Jason." That was the correct movie reference, right? Scary movies weren't her thing. "I actually wasn't planning on attacking you at all, if possible." She wouldn't reveal that she hated fighting, and was scared of using her ability. That would be silly.
"I was curious dude." the dark blonde spread her arms wide, a sign of peace.

Carnelian kept where he was, at least for the moment. She was just standing there all... befeathered and bewingalinged and all that. Grinning. Grinning like a madwoman. When she took a step back and spread her arms, his eyes narrowed. This had to be some sort of trick. Since when did senshi with all those wings (dear god what was beyond eternal? She had like, a gazillion wings on her. She was like... Immortally Eternal Forever Sailor DeathMachine.) not want to descend like a flock of birds and peck the everliving bajeezus out of people? That's what senshi did. They did horrible things.
But maybe this one wasn't so bad. Was she a friend of Lenka's? Gingerly, Carnelian stood up and watched her warily. "What are you so curious about, dudette?" The word was incredibly foreign and sounded out of place on his lips, but she started it.
The corrupted senshi started counting how many wings she possessed. Two on the arms and legs, so that was four, four on the back to make eight, her collar looked like it had some wings on it, so that was nine... jesus was this chick one of those princesses? Were the amount of wings a sign of a stupid amount of power? Carnelian would have to report this to someone and stat. But curiosity got the better of him before he could file that particular task away mentally. "I'm curious now. Miss Senshi... why all the wings?"

She made a face when he called her dudette. It didn't sound right coming from him, nor as a nickname for her. In fact, it was downright silly! Her smile remained in place. "I was curious as to why you were out here laying on a kids toy instead of draining someone of their energy." It was a puzzle. She was pretty sure that corrupt senshi drained energy just like negaverse agents, but the whole structure of chaos and where senshi fell into it was beyond her. Hm. Chaos with structure. Now that was an interesting thing to think about.
He seemed to be eyeing her, and she kept her arms out until he asked about the wings. All the wings? She turned in a complete circle, looking back at her collar much like a dog would chase it's tail. True. Her collar did look like wings. And she was particularly feathery all over. She looked like a bird!
"I'm the senshi of feathers." She said, after pondering what information to give away. Certainly her sphere wouldn't be too bad. After all, what could they do to protect against feathers? "So I guess I get all kinds of feathery wing like things!" Except for the white ones. Those were special, but she wasn't going to say just yet.

The corrupt senshi shook his head, hands on his hips in not so much a defiant stance as a male model one. He did those by accident most days. "We rest sometimes too, you know, and have other things to do. And I happen to like the park, so it all worked out initially." Until feathery death incarnate decided to pay me a visit. I must have some awful Karma built up or something to cause all of this. Wait until I tell Euclase. The young man waved it all away with his hand. She probably couldn't tell what he was the senshi of as none of his fuku was very defining at all. Truth be told, he'd never used his attack before in his life and was hoping he'd never need to.
"Feathers?"
Carnelian tilted his head. He supposed it made sense, being that senshi tended to have spheres ranging from kittens and bubbles to disaster and nebulas and all manner of other things. Feathers was one he wouldn't have guessed based purely on the colors she presented on her fuku. "Considering what I'm seeing, feathers makes sense." he admitted, crossing his arms to not really think about it any further. "I'm actually surprised you don't look like a peafowl, though the males tend to have the impressive plumage. Are you supposed to be a flamingo?"
It wasn't meant to be an insult, but Carnelian was having a hard time coming up with a bird that had the coloration she did. And conversation kept her from blasting him into oblivion. At least he hoped so.

"Feathers." She repeated. nodding her head. He seemed to be a little better now. At least he didn't look like he was about to fall down dead at the mere thought of her. In all honesty, Grus didn't want people to fear her. And she didn't even want to think about those that hated her. Like Lesath. And Painite. The Generals memory made her shiver, a hopefully small one that this strangely dressed senshi wouldn't notice.
"A girl peafowl would be just dull." She said, thinking about their boring browns and grays. Though they could hide a lot better. But they didn't have power signatures to give them away either. A mirthful laugh burst from her and she stood one one leg, throwing her arms out to her sides to keep balance. "Flamingo huh? I suppose that could be where the colors come from. I actually don't know personally. Not sure who to ask."
Her boot came back to earth, and her arms went to her sides. "Am I really that scary?" She asked, straightening her skirt. "I mean, flamingos are pretty ridiculous."

"Feathers." he repeated a third time and blinked.
Carnelian raked a hand through his hair. Maybe she wasn't all that scary after all. The corrupted senshi stepped out from behind the lip of the slide and while he still regarded her cautiously, he was closing the distance slowly. Maybe she wouldn't rip him in two and spit on the corpse. Maybe she wouldn't shear the skin from his bones. The older man bit his lip and leaned against the plastic playplace.
She didn't want to know what his sphere was. "Okay, maybe you're not so scary. But aren't senshi supposed to just... blast us away? Isn't that what you do? That's what they said you did to your homeworlds and now you want to do the same thing here. Why?"

It was like talking to a parrot. A very scared parrot. But at least he seemed to be chilling out, even coming out from behind his hiding spot. Satisfied that he wasn't going to bolt or worse, attack her, she took a cautious step forward, tilting her head at his question. "Now why on earth would I want to blast you away? Your not doing anything wrong, and as far as I can tell this isn't an ambush." Nevermind that she could probably really do some damage if she had to, but that was a last ditch effort and something she really didn't want to do.
The homeworlds comment struck a wrong note with her. She almost felt insulted. "Why in the world would I want to blow this place up? I live here!"

Carnelian shrugged. "That's what they told me. I saw a senshi assaulting some good people in front of a restaurant one night and that's when I was given the offer of enlightenment and... I took it. The rest of information came later." He believed wholeheartedly the stories the Negaverse officers fed to him just as Euclase did. Truth be told, he was terrified of either side and the fact that people within his own organization didn't trust him simply because of what he was... that was unnerving.
A thought struck him then that made his skin crawl. What if he didn't take that offer that Zinkenite and Lyra gave to him? What would he be then?
"If..." he cautioned, a worried look crossing his features. "...if I wasn't like I am now, would I be... like you?" He absently pointed his finger at Grus. What would that mean for him and Euclase? Who would he be if he wasn't Carnelian? Those thoughts were traitorous and he shook his head. No, he followed Euclase. Wherever she went, he went. That's how things worked.

She frowned slightly, a slight v forming with her eyebrows. Attacking people in front of a restaurant. Now that didn't sound right. And neither did what he said after that. "Enlightenment?" He didn't seem to sure of himself. Maybe she would be able to talk to him, reason with him.
Her chin tucked toward her neck as her eyes narrowed at Carnelian with something like disdain. He was acting like she was diseased or something. There wasn't anything wrong with her, and her tone went from playful to offended rather quickly.
"And just what is wrong with me?" she said, ice creeping into her voice and her eyes. She wanted to cross her arms, but chose to keep them loose at her sides. Crossing her arms could be seen as a threatening gesture, a sign of her displeasure.

Carnelian swallowed and backed up, hands raised defensively. The last thing he wanted was to piss off someone two ranks above him. Someone that could easily eviscerate his very soul in two if she wanted. "Nothing! Nothing's wrong with you. You're just... different, that's all. I was just... pondering what life would be like if I were on your side! If things turned out differently, that's all!" The corrupted senshi took a few steps back in case Grus decided to whip out her chainsaws or laserbeams or worse. Sharks with chainsaws. He wouldn't put it past her. "It's just very different, that's all. A different perspective on the same thing, you know?" A different side to the war, a different way of life, a different way of thinking.

Her demeanor changed as he stammered his way through an explanation. This guy was clearly terrified, and the way she was treating him certainly wasn't helping the situation. She let her muscles relax, and spread her hands out in front of her.
"Look, I'm sorry if I scared you. It's a reflex." She couldn't be too careful when it came to the Negaverse. Even know she was checking her mental signature tracker, making sure there wasn't some more experienced agent waiting to pounce on her.
He did seem interested in the "other side", so Grus decided to level with him.
"Yes. If you hadn't been found by the Negaverse, you would be a senshi. With a star or constellation, just like me. A star you wouldn't want to blow up." she said, emphasizing the word. The thought of blowing up her star made her shiver. What would she do without the leafy world to escape into every once in a while?

Her apology was comforting and Carnelian let out the breath he was holding. Grus' explanation of having his own star piqued his interest, however slight. Cautiously he raised an eyebrow. "But, as I am now, I do not have a star or constellation?" he asked. No one in the Negaverse had mentioned anything about their senshi having their own celestial body. They were all named for minerals except for Lyra but even then, Carnelian didn't know if Lyra was a star or a moon or what it was. "Do you... know what I would have been, had I not been Carnelian?" It didn't hurt to ask.
