Rakai galloped swiftly through the dewy mourning grasses of the floating isle. Is silver mane and tail flowed gracefully behind him and his striking markings blurred in motion as his hooves pounded the earth. The feeling of a free run always cleared Rakai's mind and helped him think clearly. Though he preferred running at night with the stars above him, this was still amazing. He was coming swiftly up on the lake, where he was planning on taking a short break for a drink. As he drew near he began to slow to a trot then to a walk as he approached the sparkling, clear water's edge. He noted the presence of at least one other Azrein, a blue unicorn that seemed to be minding her own business, so he paid her no mind.
Quina scanned the waters edge, looking for a plant that only grew in this area by the water. It wasn't a particularly rare plant, but proved elusive at times. Quina swore that it was only hard to find when one was looking for it. She heard the sound of approaching hooves and lifted her head to glance at the stunning stallion. She caught herself staring as the blue stallion lowered his head to drink from the lake. Never had she seen a stallion with such long, beautiful, silvery hair before. She shook her head and swished her tail, refocusing her attention. "Water blossoms, water blossoms." She muttered, mentally reminding herself what she was doing here.

Isabelle was out on her usual daily run. She tried to take one at least once a day to relieve her restlessness. It was only today that she felt like going beyond her normal boundaries. Running freely, she tended to loose herself and just run. She didn't really know where she was currently, but it didn't really matter right now to her. Isa loved the feel of wind through her mane and it was the closest she would ever get to actually flying. Naturally, when she smelled water, she automatically steered towards it.
(I'll enter kelyan in later, prolly the next post or so. ^^)

Rakai took a long drink from the crystal water before raising his majestic head. With a swish of his long silver tail and a twitch of his ear he turned his head towards the faint sound of swiftly moving hoof beats. His green eyes swiftly scanned the open field in the direction the sound was coming and quickly spotted a black shape galloping towards the lake. With a light sigh he lowered his head to drink again. Quina tried not to pay attention to the stallion as he looked around. He seemed distracted by something but Quina didn't want to bother the stallion. That didn't stop her from shooting a curious glance his way every now and then. In an attempt to get herself to focus on the task she had come here to achieve she moved further away from him, continuing to scour the water's edge for the blossom.

What could be nicer than a nice swim after the long run? Isabelle asked herself as she neared the source of the water. Opening her eyes at last minute, she realized it was a lake and plowed right in. Cold water rushed over her muscles, washing the light sheen of sweat that had accumulated. It was only then that she realized that there were other azreins by the lake. She froze, looking around she spotted a dark blue male with curious looking markings on him. They looked like lightning bolts that stood out against his coat and mane and tail to her left. On her right, she noticed an even more odd looking azrein. One with a pinkish-purplish hair, a horn, and odd blue skin. "I-Um...I'm sorry?" She said nervously.

Rakai was sprayed with water as the black mare charged right into the lake water, stirring up the crystal surface. He sighed, closing his eyes. Lifting his head to look at the the face of the disturbance a soft, gentle smile slipped onto his face. "It's okay." He replied, his voice soft and silky. He casually shook out his mane and flicked his tail to remove some to the water. "Anyone who would take away your freedom to enjoy life is no good at all." His voice was light and almost musical. He was elegant and seemed rather sweet. Quina's head shot up in surprise at the sudden splash. She blinked and for a moment just stared at the black mare with interesting blue markings as she nervously apologized. Her gaze shifted momentarily to the stallion as he spoke, his whole mannerism very elegant. Turning her sweet gaze back to the wet mare in the water she smiled gently. Holding no ill against her.

Isabelle figured that neither held her childish action against her, she smiled. "That is very true!" She agreed with the male. "My name is Isabelle." She said very relaxed as she took a sip of water. Isa wondered why the mare was so quiet, was she shy? Or maybe it was that she couldn't speak at all.Kelyan watched the pair, no, now there were three azrein by the pond, from the little grove a little bit off in the distance. It was one of his favorite places to go, he liked to watch all the wildlife the frequented that pond. Kel had seen many different species of deer and small creatures and the occasional Azrein but never these three.

Rakai chuckled lightly at her bright agreement to his statement. "The name's Rakai." He introduced himself with and low bow of his head, silver mane sliding over half his face as he did so. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Isabelle." He replied lifting his head, letting his mane fall back into place naturally. For awhile now he had felt the eyes of someone watching him. It was not a threatening feeling and as such he felt no need to do anything about it.Quina watched the other two converse for a long moment before snapping herself out of it. If she wanted to talk to she should just go do it. But it felt a bit awkward to join in. She wasn't really anti-social or afraid to talk with others she just wasn't the most chatty and often didn't know what to say in a regular conversation. She could talk just fine when her heart was in it, like caring for the injured or when it came to her love for plants and medicines. Finally she turned her attention back to the shoreline, still not finding any of the pale blue blossoms she was looking for.

"Its a pleasure to meet you as well Rakai! I get so lost in my running sometimes I don't really realize where I'm going." Isabelle smiled at him while her restlessness set in again. She swam around the little pond disrupting the small schools of fish that resided there. Randomly, she plucked a little plant out of the water then dropped it again to get a better look at it before eating it. "mmmm" she said as she savored it.Kelyan had a feeling that he had been spotted so he stepped out of his hiding place. He tried to hide his fear of approaching the group of azrein while he approached. "Excuse me," He said to the nearest one who happened to have a pink mane and a horn, "Might this pond be able to stand one more occupant?" He asked her politely.

"I do that too sometimes. There is nothing quite like running freely with the wind rushing past you." Rakai replied happily, true joy in his voice just thinking about running. He watched Isabelle swim about in the water, his keen eyes picking out all kinds of things about her just by how she moved and talked. "Mind if I join you out there?" He asked politely stepping his lightning patterned leg into the water. He didn't even bother looking over at the stallion as he emerged from hiding and when to greet the quiet unicorn that had been here when he had arrived.Quina jumped at the sound of the stallion's voice from behind her. He had startled her right out of her freshly gained focus. Turning her horned head towards the stallion she offered a sweet smile, having quickly recovered from her initial surprise. "Of course." She said softly.

"Sure! Come on out!" Isabelle replied happily. "The water just feels fantastic. Theres nothing like a calming swim after a run! Theres not a lot of big ponds near where I normally run so its a joy to have discovered this one. What brought you out here? If I may be so bold as to ask." She didn't mean to be nosy, she was just trying to make conversation.
"Thank you." Kel said politely. "You seem deep in thought, I'm sorry to have roused you from your reveries." His voice sincere as he apologized. Wading into the shallow water at the edge, he studied all of the pond's little world. All of the fish that swam around his and the mare's hooves, the plants that swayed as if there was music playing. He suddenly wished there was music playing, music always seemed to make everything better.

Rakai slowly emerged himself in the water. The coolness felt good against his flesh. He gave a contented sigh he smiled over at Isabella. "You are indeed right." He replied smoothly. He paused a moment before responding to her inquiry. Watching her, without appearing to actually be staring. "You may be so bold. I was just out for a long morning run and stopped here for a drink." He replied truthfully, though not revealing anything outside of that. Not like he was hiding anything, nor did he sound like he was. He glanced over at the new stallion addition to the water and the quiet unicorn. Smiling he turned his gaze back to Isabelle without a word. "Oh, no. It was nothing at all. I'm just looking for a plant that grows in this area." She said in her soft voice, looking up into the blue stallion's eyes. She then turned hers back to the water looking for the blossom that shouldn't have been so hard to locate.

"Morning runs are so nice aren't they?" Isabelle basked in the sun. The stallion seemed very nice and there was nothing about him that alerted her. He was a very nice looking stallion, there was no reason why she shouldn't have a little fun. She openly sized him up, catching the glint of his sliver mane to the way the lightning bolts shone in the sun. Isabelle did nothing more than that but she knew it was more than enough to make her thoughts known."What kind of plant are you looking for? Maybe I can help." Kel was always trying to help others, and how hard could it be to help this one mare find a flower? He asked himself.

"Indeed they are." He replied softly. He watched her calmly as she openly sized him up. A sly smile came to his face and his thin eyes sparkled. "Are you challenging me?" He questioned coolly, a hint of a playful tone in his voice. Quina again lifted her gaze from her search to smile sweetly at the stallion. "If you would like, I wouldn't mind a bit of help. I'm looking for water blossoms. They are a small, light purple buds. They grow in shallow waters and are a key ingredient in a pain salve." Her soft voice rang with a happy note.
