Roll an Eight: City Streets Field: Broken tar and faded yellow lines make up the “street” that runs down the exact center of the battle field. On either side of the road are sidewalks with pieces of concrete here and there. Fake building walls, complete with broken glass windows and grime lining the surface, limit the amount of maneuverable space on land. Trash cans and trash bags decorate the street. A sewer grate nearby continually pours a stream of fog into the air which, unfortunately, helps spread the horrible stench of the trash. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to POISON type attacks.

Chloe gave an approving nod as the field landed where it did, smiling at the trees. The confined space would be unpleasant, but she didn't expect that Terrata would need to use flying attacks anyway. She held the ball containing her precious Lugia gently in her hand and waited to see who her opponent would use.

((Are we going to use the forest field? xD You rolled the City Streets field, but I have no qualms either way.))
Zinnia walked into the stadium with Shadow already out and floating near her head. "All right!" she said to the mew. "Time for another battle. You know what to do!"
While the black mew took her place on the field, Zinnia waved across at her opponent. "Let's have a good battle!" she called. What kind of pokemon would Shadow be fighting this time?

((Haha, derp, I totally missed that xD Thanks for pointing that out. I'll edit my starting post later to fit.))
Chloe nodded and smiled. She had battled this trainer before, so she wasn't entirely surprised that the dark Mew was to be her opponent. With a flick of her wrist she released Terrata onto the field, "Let's go, Terrata, use Ominous Wind!"
The pink Lugia burst out of her pokeball an let out an echoing cry, her eyes already glowing with a dark power and the wind began to rush towards her opponent.

Zinnia's eyes grew wide and her jaw dropped. "Is... that a... a lugia?" she asked of no one, staring at the huge pokemon that was quite obviously a lugia. Battling so often in the stadium definitely had its benefits; where else could so many strong and rare pokemon gather? The lugia was so beautiful... Weren't lugias supposed to have blue markings, though? Zinnia had only done research on them in passing, but she thought that Terrata was a shiny one.
Shadow winced as the wind drained her strength.
Right! The battle! This was no time to be daydreaming. She was a member of Team Rocket (though currently under cover as a regular trainer), not a watcher! She couldn't afford to be distracted by a pokemon's beauty or rarity.
Zin shouted out, "Use Ancient Power!"
Shadow used her psychic powers to dredge entire chunks of the asphalt of the street-like stadium. The boulders revolved around her for a moment before she sent them hurtling toward her opponent.

"A Lugia indeed, Zin." Chloe laughed, "You aren't the only one with a legend by your side. Once more, Terrata, Ominous Wind!"
Terrata screamed and launched herself into the air after being bombarded by chunks of the stadium, continuing to send pulses of foul, evil air at the Mew.

A legend indeed! Still, there seemed to be quite a bit of difference between Shadow and the lugia! Size being the most obvious one.
"Freeze her! Ice Beam!" she shouted.
She'd need a big ice beam to freeze a pokemon that size! The pure, freezing energy glowed between her forepaws. She molded the ball until it was almost too big for her to handle, and then she released it in a single long, powerful beam.

"Careful, Terrata!" Chloe cried, "Use Calm Mind, raise your attack!"
Terrata flattened the scales on her back and pulled her wings in close, spinning rapidly and diving at the ground to dodge the ice attack, causing the edges of it to glance off harmlessly before she spread her wings again and gave them a massive flap before she hit the ground and then closed her eyes. The winds stopped and to the naked eye she seemed to be doing nothing, but to any psychic pokemon it would be obvious from the light pulses of power coming from her mind that she was growing stronger from this meditative state.

The Lugia's eyes snapped open as she felt another chill in the air and she once again spun away, this time opening her mouth wide and shooting a concentrated ball of shadow at her opponent, fueled even more by her previous meditation.

"Terrata, look out!" Chloe winced as the ice attack finally hit home and froze her solid, rendering her helpless.
Terrata's eyes widened and she started to move away from the attack again but this time her reaction was too slow. A thick layer of ice covered her and she let out a deep cry as it enveloped her, being silenced as it reached her head.

Chloe clenched her fists in frustration and took a deep breath to try to calm herself, "It's ok, Terrata, just focus on breaking out of the ice." She could only watch helplessly as the Mew raked her dark claws across the thinning layer of ice. She couldn't tell if they were doing anything, but she suspected that even if the actual claws weren't making it through, that dark energy radiating from them would.
